Big friggin' deal- wageslaven, on 10/12/2007, -17/+4oh yeah, man, like its tottally so much less than the great iphone is gonna be eh man? nokia like cant make nearly as good a cellphone as apple.. right? right man. Boy oh boy I cant totally like wait to get my hands on my iphone, im gonna so get one when its like first comes out.
meh - FukUrCouch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I just wonder how much more can the cell phone change? Smaller? Lighter? I think by now the cell phone designs are going to start looking the same and the only changes in real innovation are going to be the apps included in them.
- IvanB, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22Someone needs to tell Motorola it's not all about the design (i.e. their applications suck).
- marshall007, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12looks like the LG Chocolate and the iPhone got smashed together
- Cymrubeats, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2I can't wait for the day when phones are 'hackable' enough so that i can configure mine with what i need...make/receive calls, send/receive sms. Even the ancient 5110's and the likes had more ***** than i needed.
Bluetooth? All i have EVER seen that used for is mongs swapping the latest dj ***** asshat, 170bpm squeekathon happy hardcore chipmunkfest ***** ringtones. It's like inventing a time machine just so you can go back ten minutes and re-enjoy the crap you just took. - csw3190, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5It also looks to have touch-sensetive buttons, not traditional mechanical ones.
- TheSeraph, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6cymrubeats, when you're an organizing monster like me, Bluetooth is important feature for iCal and Address Book. It's more then just tossing MP3s for ringtones on your phone.
Sidenote: Go Nokia. The Honda's of cell phones. Boring, but reliable, and indestructable. - PunkRampant, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3What ever happened to that sweet-looking "Moto LAZR" that was also leaked recently? It never seems like this "leaked" stuff actually becomes real..

- Fhionnlaoch, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3I saw a someone on the bus with one kinda like this, had nice graphics from what I could tell (nicer than my Samsung POS). Probably from Asia.
- donjaime, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Nokia has way more impressive looking phones than that. Namely the n95:

Which people in Europe will be enjoying for a good while before it makes its way to the US. :(- MasterChi, on 10/12/2007, -9/+5Um, why do you need more then phone functionality? Its a cell phone to answer phone calls and thats it. If i want to take pictures i'll buy a camera, if i want to listen to music i'll get a MP3 player, if i want to play games i'll buy a Wii or Xbox360. This is the reason why cell phones cost 200+ and their contracts are ridiculous......because of ridiculous features. I have a cell phone that simply allows me to answer calls and dial out to others and i get good reception, no need for games or camera's or all that other crap. I also have a work cell phone which is a bit more featured but i didn't pay for it so i don't care but out of the office i just like to talk to my friends and family not show off my 1x3 inch screen with a 10 minute preview clip of a movie when i could show them the whole movie in HD format at home on a 70 inch plasma(I'm allowed to dream of owning a 70 inch plasma) or destroy my friends in Halo 2 on Xbox360, etc. Just saying.

You just answered your own question.
Some people dont want to have to buy:
1. MP3 player
2. Portable video player
3. Digital Camera
4. GPS
to be able to have the functionality. I for one, want to have all these things with me, without having to carry around 4 different devices, and without needing to buy 4 expensive devices which add up to more than the cost of a phone like the n95.
And who the hell said that a cellphone would replace high definition gaming? They are two totally separate markets. If you don't want an MP3 player, GPS, and digital camera, then all you need is a basic phone. If you need those things, then these new phones are a good thing. - Agret, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6@masterchi
I was going to reply to you but then I remembered there's no point feeding the trolls. - MasterChi, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1" If you need those things, then these new phones are a good thing."
Give me one good example when you NEED these things? It didn't help that technology editor (i forget his name) who got his whole family lost in woods and died, speaking about GPS you mention. Camera phone isn't needed either nor MP3 player or digital camera. They are all useless addon's that make the phones a ton more expensive then they need to be. Its called a PHONE for a reason, its not called a multi-function portable device. Dictionary.com is your friend if you don't know what words mean, use it. - potifer, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4You are a moron.
- donjaime, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@masterchi
James Kim DIDNT have a GPS device with him. If he did he would probably still be alive.
When you get your driver's license, you may have use for it.
Adults who travel and take lots of road trips like portable GPS devices. People who fly/ride buses/trains alot like video/audio players that are PORTABLE. Hence the existence of the zune and video ipod. Also, there are these little things people have called digital cameras. Maybe youve seen them about. They take pictures. You can share these pictures with friends and family.
Lots of people have the need (not an essential need like food or water, but nonetheless a need) for all of these devices in addition to a cellphone. I don't want to lug around 4 devices. I don't want to buy 4 devices. I want one device. How the hell are you - a teen aged boy - capable of forming any sort of informed opinion on the matter? - mooninite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have an N95 on the way and I live in the USA. It should be on my doorstep tomorrow or the day after. No, I'm not joking.
I'll post from it on digg when it comes in.
- aldomatic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5that phone looks like any other phone what's so special? because its dirty

- wiihuck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4paparazzi? that looks like a gadget mugshot.
- celerityfm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1IA- it's kinda like there's some dude with a 5'oclock shadow shining a bright light on it, asking it questions like
"WHAT'S YOUR SCREEN RESOLUTION SON?!"
and
"GPS *****, DO YOU SPEAK IT?!"
and of course there is the one they always ask, but never get the answer they want-
"WHO DOES NUMBER TWO WORK FOR!"
am i rite? ... also, am I the only one who feels I feel dirty after looking at the "slide open" shot of it?

- SeismicShock, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Those don't look like the same device
- iPhrankie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm a fan of Nokia phones but has anyone noticed they are hard to find from the major wireless companies? They usually just have one really outdated model which is considered the "ghetto" model you get for free.
I still love my Nokia 6016i but everyone askes me if I got it a 7-Eleven. - atozand1to10, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Looks like older version of this
