- werdywerd, on 10/29/2009, -3/+26I want to lick it.
- yocouchdigga, on 10/29/2009, -1/+21***** yeah, Android.
- x713, on 10/30/2009, -2/+16Has anybody noticed that pcmag has been hitting the frontpage for every Droid article. On top of that their articles suck balls. There are many better other blog reviews. *sigh*
By the way... those pictures suck balls for some reason. - robojerk, on 10/30/2009, -0/+13Spec sheet comparing Pre, iPhone and new Android phones.

Not mine - StigNordas, on 10/29/2009, -1/+11The photos don't seem to do it justice, must see in person!
- quixand, on 10/30/2009, -0/+9A Win-Mo fan??? They Exist?
- Charlotte_Web, on 10/30/2009, -0/+9Looks like it even has the "I Am Rich" app built-in.
- TheBigBentley, on 10/30/2009, -0/+7Being a Windows Mobile fan I am amazed by the fact that I want this phone more than any other phone on the market.
- Fiola, on 10/30/2009, -0/+6Keyboards have their place, besides, one of the major problem with gaming on a touch only device is your finger blocks your view of the screen.
- Cody614, on 10/30/2009, -0/+5Was that really silly putty holding the phone up in the video???
- RoroCo, on 10/30/2009, -0/+5Same here, but this review is painfully bland...
- jv2k, on 10/30/2009, -1/+6They compare it to the iphone because it's popular.
- aadsfasdf, on 10/30/2009, -0/+5It's called popular culture. People use it as reference points, that's all.
- AaronPDX, on 10/30/2009, -0/+4Their goddamn pop up ads on mouseover of some random words in the article drive me ***** INSANE. They are the most annoying piece of code ever implemented.
- jv2k, on 10/30/2009, -1/+5The phone is already small. Cutting the keyboard will only make it ever so slightly slimmer and the weight difference isn't nocitcable.
Typing on a touchscreen sucks. Plain and simple. Nothing beats a real button and I see no reason to get used to something that isn't as good just because some idiots think their phone needs to be 2 mm skinnier - thewhits, on 10/30/2009, -1/+5That's because AT&T sucks balls
- Akairenn, on 10/30/2009, -1/+4Dugg, because I don't agree with you.
I own a MyTouch 3G from T-Mobile. The only way the phone could be better is if it had a physical keyboard. And dispensed bacon. Neither is a deal breaker though, I'll admit.
I'm also not getting the 'make it smaller' craze - I'm hoping that bit of nonsense is being banished as we speak. My Android phone is larger than my previous cellphone, thank the Dark Gods, and I don't see that changing in the future - things with screens are the ***** now, and bigger screens == better.
I'm personally waiting for 17" widescreen phones that can be rolled up into a small tube. :p - dpcdomino, on 10/30/2009, -1/+3I had my reservations over not having a tactile keyboard. Having the iPhone for a while (and a BB w/tactile for work), I can honestly say my reservations are gone.
This looks like a great phone for those who have AT&T coverage issues in there cities. Still has some room to grow though. AT&T is fine in the DC Metro area and I cannot do without the iPod capabilities on my phone.
Competition good. All cell companies bad... - Seronis, on 10/30/2009, -2/+4Dont see why you were buried so i dugg you back up to zero. Even though i disagree. The tactile sense of -feeling- the keys is a great comfort to many users including myself. I can use touch screens easily and accurately and relatively fast but i dont LIKE them anywhere near as much as a real keyboard. Lot of us feel the same way about laptops. I would MUCH rather see a laptop made with bigger, heavier cheaper parts than lightweight expensive ones ESPECIALLY if as a side effect it made all laptops large enough that we got f ull size keyboards with num pads. Thank god 17" lcds are out now and full keyboards are possible. Same passion applies to my choice in phones. I want something COMFORTABLE not just micronized. I dont WANT my phone smaller for the sake of losing the keyboard, both are bad IMHO.
- Taiyoryu, on 10/30/2009, -2/+4Not crippled? Who is this wireless company and what did they do with Verizon?
- AaronPDX, on 10/30/2009, -2/+4Yeah, shame on you for wanting something you spend $600 on to be aesthetically pleasing on top of being incredibly useful.
- kanojo1969, on 10/30/2009, -0/+2I WANT TO KISS IT
/randy marsh - aadsfasdf, on 10/30/2009, -1/+3"..and scrolling around is pretty smooth as well"
*finger slides across the screen, scrolling is choppy as hell*
Okay... - Tenoq, on 10/30/2009, -1/+3Agreed. I'd prefer a slimmer version with just the touch keyboard. Knowing how well the iPhone keyboard works, there doesn't seem to be any point (for me) in having a physical one. It's just bulk I wouldn't use.
Now given this is the most powerful Android phone yet... was anyone else disappointed in it's performance browsing webpages and moving through the UI? The voice-over is saying how smooth it is... but it's NOT smooth. That's barely iPhone 3G smooth, let alone the new 3GS. I've seen a few Android phones now, and all have left me wanting the smoother UI experience on the iPhone. - phyx726, on 10/30/2009, -0/+1Wow that was actually a non-bias review. They actually compared it to the Imagio and not just the iphone which is nice because there are Verizon customers out there that never planned on switching to AT&T regardless of any phone.
- phyx726, on 10/30/2009, -0/+1cmon, why the hate on koss? heh
- TrendyTim, on 10/31/2009, -0/+1I love WinMo as well, but this phone, despite is crappy looking keyboard (compared to the HTC 8525, which has the 2 action buttons too close to the keyboard so you send an SMS instead of pressing the i key). If you could combine the best features of WinMo, Android and iPhone together it would be great
- billwild, on 10/30/2009, -0/+1lots of ball sucking happening aye?
- robojerk, on 10/30/2009, -0/+1I didn't digg you down.. I'm holding off to see it in person to judge its looks.. I dont think it's that bad.. I've seen a lot worse.
The Moto Droid has a seperate GPU to take some load off of the CPU. The phone is supposedly very noticeably faster than the G1 or myTouch.
Source: http://discuss.gdgt.com/motorola/droid/general/550 ... - revenz, on 11/01/2009, -0/+1its just not sexy... it might be the most impressive phone in the world, but iphones are still far sexier than this, apple are safe
- jv2k, on 10/30/2009, -2/+3It's a screen. Honestly what do you want from it? It looks fine and at the end of the day what really matters is what's on the screen and not how round or shiny it is.
- thewhits, on 10/30/2009, -6/+7This is the droid I'm looking for.
- mikejafo, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1Spot on - whether you like the way it looks or not, "steampunk" it ain't.
- ohreilly, on 10/30/2009, -0/+1I prefer physical keyboards and my car is manual.
Why? I live in the UK, which like the rest of the world (not North America) has adopted the manual transmission as the "standard" in cars, automatic is relegated to being an expensive option for lazy drivers. - bjs3171, on 11/16/2009, -0/+1it's...uh...not $600...
- sageerrant, on 10/30/2009, -0/+1A855
- stalky14, on 10/30/2009, -0/+1What I like about this is Apple's AT&T exclusivity starting to bite them in the ass. It has driven other carriers into the arms of Android and will probably make Android, as a whole, a more popular platform. I think the Available Apps graphs are going to get turned upside-down within 2 years.
- EtherGnat, on 10/30/2009, -0/+1We do, although I'm in the same boat as TheBigBentley. There are some great things about Windows Mobile on good hardware, although 6.5 was an underwhelming update and Android has co-opted many of its best features. I'm going to buy a Droid, but if Windows Mobile 7 can get its act together I may be back in two years.
- EtherGnat, on 10/30/2009, -0/+1Not realizing everybody is different is for people who are too small minded to see anything outside of their own small universe.
I do drive a manual transmission. Not because I think automatic transmissions are a passing fad--they're great--but because I drive a sports car and prefer the greater control and feeling of connection it gives me to my car.
Likewise I prefer a physical keyboard on my smartphone. It doesn't make me a luddite, it's just a personal preference. I for one love having a great number of choices, so everybody can find something that suits them. Touchscreen only phones are great for a lot of people, I'm just not one of them.
Stop being such an ass and realize the world doesn't revolve around you. - droidtips, on 11/11/2009, -0/+0Its time for someone to come out and make a phone that can compete with the iphone. Something with freedom to do what you want with it. I hate the way Apple as a company locks everything down, and gives you no free options for customization.
http://www.droidtipsandtricks.com - RoroCo, on 10/30/2009, -3/+3You have to before you stick it.
- cyborgcommando0, on 10/30/2009, -1/+1Can I touch it?
- nchokas, on 10/30/2009, -1/+1SeXaY
- randall814, on 10/30/2009, -1/+1The gold looks terrible on it (for me, anyway). There is something so...90's about it.
- skadeet, on 10/30/2009, -4/+3could pcmag.com get any crappier, jesus, worst site eveeeeeeeeeeeer
- mikebritton, on 10/30/2009, -4/+3PC Magazine is horrible in every respect.
- cuevas4711, on 10/30/2009, -2/+1Why does the story of the unboxing have more diggs? Change this!
- AaronPDX, on 10/30/2009, -2/+1Or it's because Apple created this wave of REAL useful phones (pocket computer style) instead of the lame previous cell phone+ things that were available, and they maintain their position at the forefront of that wave.
