INCREDIBLE picture of a working Tesla coil!!
tesladownunder.com — A Tesla coil (a concept originally created by Nichola Tesla) was first conceived to be created as a weapon around 1888, but it was never practical. This guy seems to be able to slay a ladder or two though.

- Novagenesis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Practicality is definitely defined by who wants to use it for what.
People still believe his full-scale coil fired from the US and hit in Europe or Asia... In those days, that was mindblowing...- 2damntall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's an excelent point, but he was definetly trying to create a deadly field weapon. Nichola Tesla was an amazing man. I read that he planned his inventions entirely in his head instead of drawing up countless designs.
- Archer1980, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's kinda funny, i remember seeing a show about this technology, and they say there is a little evidence that someone had a working model years ago, but there was an accident and it absolutely leveled several miles of trees. But it was only a theory, because it happened around the same time that Nichola Tesla was experimenting.
Wonder if it's true... - Blumeroom, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Two Words: Red Alert
- 2damntall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Possibly my favorite defensive weapon in a RTS game ever.
Remember how if you hit just one guy with it he would wave his arms and his hair would stand up? hahahahaha.
