- jordantneff, on 12/13/2008, -0/+19How to manage your online profiles: Pick one. Stick with it. Make all of your friends/family use it. Let them deal with multiple profile problems.
- zielgruppe, on 12/13/2008, -1/+11Yep, merge all your social profiles, add your amazon, ebay,... profiles, post your credit card number, your birthday...
- AmyVernon, on 12/13/2008, -3/+9Definitely going to use this. I have been so scattershot with adding varoius profiles; I really need to get them together.
- jnicole4, on 12/13/2008, -2/+7Very unique post. Now that I see it, I'm surprised nobody has brought it up again because it is an issue. Thanks for bringing it up.
- rolf, on 12/13/2008, -1/+6I can't wait until Web 2.1 comes out >.>
- quato, on 12/13/2008, -3/+8So many profiles, I.P. Freely, I. C. Weiner etc... this could come in handy.
- Unrealevil, on 12/13/2008, -0/+4Even further, the question you should probably be asking is, "Do I really want all of Digg to be my friends...?"
- jordantneff, on 12/13/2008, -0/+3Don't forget about Jack Mihoff and Mike Hunt
- Mossman85, on 12/13/2008, -2/+5I have nobody to socialize with, therefor I have no social profiles. Digg, will you be my friends?
- inactive, on 12/13/2008, -0/+3NiallGriff agrees!!
- bugmenottt, on 12/13/2008, -1/+4i always thought anonymity was the best part of the internet
but the masses gladly hand out their full name, address, dob, penis length, etc to every site
4chan nutjobs, tv news channels, government employees, even police use the internet, even courts will accept internet data as 'evidence'
now keep that in mind and consider how google is crawling and archiving everything that will ever happen on the internet from now until the end, and nearly every website uses their embedded scripts
as soon as those 'private' messages pictures videos emails profiles comments etc hit the internet, they are locked into a permanent medium that will never go away, a medium that the gov has full access to, and the site owners of course
no one is being educated on responsible internet use
many people will learn the hard way - tnerd, on 12/13/2008, -2/+4Nice and detailed post... I like the Twitter background suggestion..
- inactive, on 12/13/2008, -0/+1probably not....
- hartley, on 12/13/2008, -0/+1Friendfeed does a pretty good job for me.
- Czechxican, on 12/19/2008, -0/+1Plaxo???? I call shenanigans.
- inactive, on 12/13/2008, -0/+1DING DING DING!!! That is CORRECT!!!
- brandita, on 12/13/2008, -0/+1Another way to keep it manageable is only put up important statuses messages like "just got married" or "just got a job" instead of ***** no one cares about like "is going to bathroom brb" or "is hungry".
- zielgruppe, on 12/13/2008, -0/+1<quote>are locked into a permanent medium</quote>
That's an interesting fact only few people are aware of. Today's limited technology and regulations prevents the masses from exploiting such personal data. But every bit of information about yourself you publish to any website is stored. Forever. Nobody cares that you had an accident yesterday. In 50 years, your insurance company still does.. and knows. - JYoungest1, on 12/13/2008, -0/+1....I like knowing I am talking to a girl I once knew, not wondering if its a fat naked guy on the other end.
plus I go on the internet with nothing to hide, so I am not worried.
*fat naked guy* - Phocion55, on 12/13/2008, -0/+1And Dixie Normous
- affordableweb, on 12/15/2008, -0/+1inspired me to spruce up all of mine. ihave a total of 16 social profiles right now

- ephemeral, on 12/15/2008, -0/+1How about... don't be an attention whore online? Does anyone really care about your profile? Unless you are an under 25y/o fit young lady, then please disregard.

- netneutrality, on 12/13/2008, -5/+2How could one attach so much material importance to so many unimportant social networks? Scrap them all and go outside.
