- krische, on 06/12/2009, -0/+8What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
- aychseven, on 06/12/2009, -0/+71. The Pre is not a copy of the iPhone. If it were, Apple would be suing the pants off of Palm right now. Just because a product uses similar technology does not make it a copy.
2. Mac iPhone? Get your company names straight. It's the Apple iPhone.
3. You can't hack an iPhone? Get your facts straight. People have been hacking the iPhone and the Touch since they were released.
4. Have you actually used both for an extensive period of time? How can you form a proper opinion on weather one product is better than the other if you haven't used them?
5. There are keys on your keyboard for periods, commas and other punctuation. I suggest you recognize their existence and learn how to properly use them.
6. It's "1, 2, buckle my shoe" not 123.
I feel sorry for your mother. - Ramble, on 06/12/2009, -0/+6Wow! Thanks for that!
- CrazySpaniard, on 06/11/2009, -1/+6I like big butts
- gvoakes, on 06/11/2009, -1/+6Cannot wait for Pre on Verizon
- AmyVernon, on 06/11/2009, -0/+4I have to admit, I was admiring a Pre the other day, even though I've been excited to get an iPhone for about 2 years now and am finally getting one. If I had Sprint, I'd be perfectly happy to get one of these.
- MrBogard, on 06/11/2009, -0/+3I wish there was a way to get the Pre with my SERO 500 plan attached. I wonder how much longer I can actually hold on to my plan.
- aychseven, on 06/12/2009, -1/+4FTA: "And plus, who really uses AIM these days?"
ummm... what? has everyone secretly migrated to MSN or Google Talk? oh wait, no. everyone i know still uses AIM... - Acqua206, on 06/12/2009, -0/+3That is a no brainer man, stick under your parents plan. You would be throwing money away. In times like this, every penny counts. Its more than likely that under your parents plan, you have more than enough surplus minutes at the end of the month, so those would be going to waste. It is much cheaper to tack on a phone under a family plan.
Well, it is a no brainer unless $100 a month chump change to you. I would keep a free phone and throw that extra benjamin into a mutual fund or something. - Rousterfar, on 06/12/2009, -0/+3That stupid Gizmodo article was a joke and reflected bad on them in the industry.
- mostie, on 06/11/2009, -1/+4Maybe it's time to trade in my high tech flip phone
- smashblu, on 06/12/2009, -0/+2Sprint has rights to the Pre until the end of 2009 so Verizon will pick it up shortly after.
http://jkontherun.com/2009/05/28/will-you-wait-for ... - aychseven, on 06/12/2009, -0/+2play with both and see what you like best.
for example, i love my ipod touch, but i don't want an iPhone. the keyboard is the big factor there; i send a lot of mail from my phone and i like having buttons. - smashblu, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1Definitely, I was going to get a new phone (this is my current one: http://reviews.cnet.com/cell-phones/lg-vx6100-veri ... this month but I'm going to wait for the Pre!
- sevenalive, on 06/15/2009, -0/+1sry for late reply but i sort of work for sprint. The system simply won't even let you activate the phone without it being on one of those everything data plans.
- sevenalive, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1OMG! your not using Myspace IM!?
- smashblu, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1Of course I didn't know about them, the phone hasn't even been out for a week!
- mrBitch, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1Yeah, the issue with the battery is one I have had with almost all of the phones I have owned over the years.
The only phone that doesn't have this issue is the samsung I have at the moment.
Makes me kind of wonder if this "replace-able battery" point of failure is the reason the iPhone's battery is non user replace-able ? - shnuffy, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1Pre/iPhone's vs. RIM products generally serve different purposes.
- woofers07, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1Do you have any solid news on this? I've heard multiple arguments. "They're getting it", "They're getting it but messing with it first"
This would be the first phone that could truly hold me over until the iPhone comes. - SirvenomItsac, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1I need to get one first...
- mrBitch, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1iOSX posts the same idiotic crap as 123bucklemyshoe... I think they're either both equally retarded or the same person...
- sevenalive, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1There is no way. everything data 450 is 69.99, and you can get a discount off the plan if your employer has a deal with sprint. Not bad considering i am paying $90 for the same plan - tv and nav (which is included in the data 450) on at&t. Why? Because at&t and Verizon love to rape ya for a $30 data plan just because i got a smartphone + txt is $20 + my 450 rollover is 39.99 + $50 = $90.
- MrBogard, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1I keep hearing that... honestly, where does your information come from? My plan is $30 and includes unlimited text and data. I just recently got an HTC Touch Pro too, but it was from insurion. Hey, if that's the only way for me to get new handsets without changing my plan... I guess it's a good thing I have insurance.
- sevenalive, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1and i cannot lie....
- sevenalive, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1Ya....what your trying to do isn't working.
- d0ug18, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1You should take a look at your budget first and see if you can support your own phone plan. Then I would try them both out and see which one you like better.
- spoonchucks, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1Not sure how they handle phone swaps on CDMA networks, but this is one reason why I don't see myself on any other type of network than GSM.
SIM cards FTMFW, and to hell with AT&T if they have something to say about what phone I'm using. - robohoe, on 06/12/2009, -4/+4Wtf, everyone still uses AIM
- meridian, on 06/11/2009, -5/+5To compare the Pre to the iPhone dosn't show good of a phone it is. Compared to any RIM device the Pre is hand's down better.
The return of Palm. - lovemorgul, on 06/11/2009, -2/+2Best birthday gift ever!
- Bandit1000, on 06/12/2009, -1/+1"Simply put a piece of paper on the top part of the battery between the battery and the phone."
Elegant solution. - ipodforumcom, on 06/14/2009, -0/+0My name is Brian, and I just got my Pre on Saturday by a stroke of sheer luck... They "Found" 10 extra units in the back room when everywhere else was sold out.
I LOVE this phone, but I'm getting a little tired of hearing about how much better the iPhone is by Apple fans who haven't even touched the Pre.
Yes, the iPhone is nice and all that, but come on.. let us enjoy our phones in peace. There's no need to tell us that our phone sucks when we just laid 3-400 bucks down on the counter for it.
I hang out at http://www.PalmPreForum.org a site made for all Palm Pre owners. - mrquatermain, on 07/05/2009, -0/+0You know you can get the Pre with a SERO plan attached. I work for Sprint and I am positive that you can put a SERO plan on it as long as yours has data included and it should. There's no reason you couldn't get it unless ur SERO plan isn't with Sprint, then that would be a different story...lol.
- georgeglass, on 06/12/2009, -0/+0The 1G iphone sometimes has a reception problem caused by the SIM card. To fix it, the user puts a piece of tape between the SIM card and the slot.
- reddyap1, on 06/12/2009, -2/+1I was picking between the Pre and the iPhone. If I got a Pre I would stay under my Parent's plan and not have to pay for my service cause I am covered under their minutes, and they only pay a little extra to add me on. If I got an iPhone 3GS I would have to pay $100 every month to have the phone because I would be on my own service. I am still thinking of getting the iPhone because I have a Macbook Pro. Any Thoughts????
- inactive, on 06/11/2009, -2/+1Wheres the hack that lets you playback standard definition XViD files? Talking resolutions in the 640x480 - 720x480 range.
- StigNordas, on 06/11/2009, -4/+1For the pre-pre buyer.
- rogerhenry, on 06/11/2009, -11/+6I think I'll stick with my iPhone for now. 3Gs is coming!
- Heinrich3G, on 06/11/2009, -7/+2Duh of course it has better battery life with Wi-Fi than 3G.
All 3G capable phones are like that.. just look at the iPhone
What about it's ability to cut cheese? http://gizmodo.com/5279413/palm-pre-cuts-the-chees ... - inactive, on 06/12/2009, -5/+0lol well actually everyone this is the palm Pre which as everyone knows pretty much sucks except if you want a Real phone then you should go with an iphone for sure becuase there waaay better!!!! there is data to prove it!!!
- 123bucklemyshoe, on 06/11/2009, -16/+3But um just so everyone knows the Palm Pre by the way is a copy of the Mac iPhone only it has a different name but it's worse than the iPhone because they were in a rush to get it out and such. But you can tell that it's worse because you can't hack a iPhone and you can hack a Palm Pre right after it comes out so yeah just for your information because I'm extremely interested in science and programming so I try to help out with decisions of what to get so honestly get a iPhone not a Palm Pre because the Palm Pres basically don't work well at all.
