- basye, on 09/29/2008, -3/+29Whatta game!!
- Ragingcnu, on 09/29/2008, -0/+22The NFC East is just ridiculous this year. Also, great game, well played.
- evan3168, on 09/29/2008, -3/+19Today, a Zornado swept through Texas
- hokeywebb22, on 09/29/2008, -3/+18As a redskin fan from birth I was shocked by this game. I was just hoping to have a close game and not get embarrassed but everyone on the team played better then they have all season. Glad to go into Dallas and stop all this talk about how they are destined to win the superbowl this year.
- justcharlie, on 09/29/2008, -4/+15Redskins FTW!
- KublaiKhan, on 09/29/2008, -5/+16http://digg.com/football/Who_Can_Stop_the_Cowboys_ ...
It seems we have an answer. - Trigonometron, on 09/29/2008, -5/+16That was slightly over the top.
- HeDiggMe, on 09/29/2008, -18/+28Perfect for the Skins last trip to Texas Stadium. Good thing it has a hole in the ceiling so God can see his most self-important losers.
- imbetterthanu, on 09/29/2008, -1/+11Hail to the Redskins! Next stop -- Philly.
- binky79, on 09/29/2008, -9/+18As a Cowboy fan i was a little confused at how quickly we abandoned the running game. Wade said it best, "We were out coached and out played (on both sides of the ball)". We'll get you deadskins next time.
- divinediva, on 09/29/2008, -1/+10This is a great team.
- swik, on 09/29/2008, -2/+11About the same as the phantom holding call that cost the Skins a TD
- swik, on 09/29/2008, -3/+11It's so awesome to see all the pieces of this team finally start to fit together, I honestly didn't think they had a shot to win this one. Fantastic to watch.
- richmondphotog, on 09/29/2008, -1/+8you think that cost the cowboys the game? I tell you what, it was the fact that dallas did not run the ball and threw to owens too much. the facemask was not a game decider. those two called back td in the third, on plays away from the play. those could have been.
- AFLunatic, on 09/29/2008, -4/+11Now I hope you people take us seriously. Whenever they talk about the NFC East powerhouse they always fail to leave the Redskins behind. Well we slayed the giant, and it was a comfortable win against the supposed best team in the league. Now lets talk about Dallas' class. Wade Phillips barely shakes Zorn's hand. All their players pointing fingers at others. Marion Barber who was shut down says "What can I say, when I get the ball we move the chains. When I don't, we don't go anywhere" - What is he trying to be a Junior TO? You lost as a team you idiot and you got the ball 9 times, if you're so amazing turn one of those runs into positive yardage. And then TO says the same ***** Barber said and he got the ball 17 out of 47 times! Dallas is a bunch of crybabies with the same record as the Skins now. Quit talkin ***** and get ready for December, cause your comin to our backyard and we're going to be ready.
- thinboyslim, on 09/29/2008, -3/+9Wrap up T.O. and Romo got nowhere to go!
- zzhiwen, on 09/29/2008, -2/+7Couldn't agree more. The better team won. We have only ourselves to blame. I just hope T.O. doesn't throw a fit and breakup the good chemistry =/
- thejokell, on 09/29/2008, -3/+8♬ Hail to the Redskins! Hail victory! Braves on the warpath! Fight for ol' DC! ♬
- jf317820, on 09/29/2008, -0/+5Hail!!!!
- flashingcurser, on 09/29/2008, -0/+5Jim Zorn has always been a class act. Everybody has heard of Steve Largent the great receiver, hardly anyone knows of the guy who threw most of those passes-- Jim Zorn. Bravo Jim.
- HeDiggMe, on 09/29/2008, -1/+6The God reference is from usual Cowboys trash talk.
- JDenigma, on 09/29/2008, -4/+8Now as for the NFC East, how long will each team in the division go undefeated outside of the division? Imagine that, all the East teams winning all their games except when they play against each other. lol The Cowboys will likely win their next game, but the Eagles are losing to the Bears at the moment I'm typing this.
- inactive, on 09/29/2008, -3/+7I was hoping this would happen, sadly my Eagles got owned as well.
- moush, on 09/29/2008, -1/+5You obviously aren't a redskins fan if you don't know the rivalry between Cowboys and Redskins.
- richmondphotog, on 09/29/2008, -0/+4Huh?
- JDenigma, on 09/29/2008, -19/+22lol I love it! Except for that one drive at the start of the 2nd half, the Redskins D shut down T.O. So let's here it now from all you bandwagon fans who love the Cowboys. The Cowboys are one of those teams that are a prima donna glamour team that attracts a lot of fair weather, bandwagon types across the country. "America's Team", the pretty star, all the hype, the pretty boy glamour stars, the women going ga ga over Tony Romo. T.O. already complaining lol Muwah haha ha ha ha!!!! Stick it to the team that gets so much of the Hollywood glitz like attention and glamour with the casual fans across the country who just like them because of their popularity! lol
Hmm, with all the Cowboy fans on Digg, will this get buried? ;-) How sweeeet it is! Ah well, your Brokeback Cowboys will bounce back. They've got the Rams next apparently. Just better hope all hell doesn't break loose with T.O. Bada Bing! - rharami, on 09/29/2008, -1/+3Let me preface my comments by saying i am a realist cowboys fan. I am cautiously optimistic about their chances of going all the way this year. The reason i was dreading the cowboys losing this game is because i would have to read crap about how the redskins are so great blah blah blah..... and that goes with the territory when you beat a great team. With that being said, they won by two points, and came finger tips away from most likely losing against a team that played at about 80% of its capacity on offense, and 30% of its capacity on defense. Respect to the redskins though, because i was actually worried about them winning this week, unlike the previous three weeks where i assumed the cowboys would win and they did. What I am basically saying is, it took 100% of the redskins (on a day where they get a break by having the ball go through a recievers hands on the onside kick) to beat the cowboys, so as parcells would say "lets put away the anointing oil for now."
- bwishey, on 09/29/2008, -0/+2Yeah, the Eagles totally failed the NFC East last night.
- Jam37, on 09/29/2008, -8/+10archival? what kind of fool wrote this. archrival dipsh*t. but YEAH!!!!!! Hail to the REDSKINS!! Congrats Zorn!!! and Campbell, Portis, Moss, Horton, Springs, et al. who just straight up f'ing rock!
- JDenigma, on 09/29/2008, -1/+3I know it hurts Cowboys fans. Awwww, last game at Dallas stadium. Will live in infamy. Ah, the Redskins last game ever at RFK. Guess what game that was? ;-) Heh heh, ok I'll hold back the laughter. I know that's gotta suck. I'd hate it too if it was last game at RFK or FedEx Field. Well, there is the bright side for you guys when you open up at your new stadium. Ok, I'll stop. No more rubbing your noses in it. I've gotta go, biting my tongue, gotta hold it back.
- Fleshbeast, on 09/29/2008, -0/+2Agreed, for the most part. It was a close game for sure. The Redskins did a fantastic job.
- flashingcurser, on 09/29/2008, -0/+2I don't know why someone dugg you down. I'll even the score.
There will be cheers for Jim Zorn in Seattle. Seattle is a different sports town. Tino Martinez and Ken Griffy Jr. have both received standing ovations even though they were in other team's uniforms. There will still be a lot of love left for Zorn. There probably will not be a standing ovation, but if they pan the crowd there will be plenty of signs and such. - lilflipm42, on 09/30/2008, -0/+2haha LOSER. Who is your team. the RAMS? LOL
- dreslimmul, on 09/29/2008, -0/+2Disagreed. The Redskins were not 100% on defense. Are you forgetting Jason Taylor? We never put very much pressure on Tony Romo because he was out of the lineup. Philip Daniels is out on IR. One of our former first round draft picks and all-star on defense, Sean Taylor, was killed last year.
No team is ever 100%.
Secondly, the game really wasn't that close. The Redskins practically gave you the field goal at the end of the first half. Don't forget that Owens scored his touchdown right after a Redskins "holding" penalty where Romo threw an incomplete pass on a 3rd Down. Oh yeah, and the touchdown the Redskins scored on first down and got called back because of Rabach's "invisible" holding penalty and the 3rd down touchdown two plays later called back because of Rabach's Illegal Man Downfield penalty where he was just standing there doing nothing.
This is the reality... the Redskins went into Texas Stadium, had the lead the whole game, held the Cowboys to 44 yards rushing in their own stadium. The Cowboys only attempted 11 RUN PLAYS because they were playing "catch up" all game. The Redskins haven't turned the ball over in 16 Quarters which says a bunch.
On the other hand, the Redskins hurt themselves on penalties, whether they were legit or not. They also had no pressure on Romo. - inactive, on 09/30/2008, -0/+2JEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
- lilflipm42, on 09/30/2008, -0/+1haaa your made a point GAME 1....if we played the Giants in game 4 we would have beat them as well. Do not think the Giants are good you still need to play the Skins again.
- Nowaiman, on 09/29/2008, -2/+3Zorn, i thought it was talking about an alien overlord or something
- lilflipm42, on 09/30/2008, -0/+1GO HOKIES!!! BAMAs are BAMAs
- AFLunatic, on 09/29/2008, -0/+1It's personal for me, I-HATE-DALLAS. :) Anyway, well said. Your writing is 75% of the DC Area's thoughts.
- lilflipm42, on 09/30/2008, -0/+1 GO SKINS!!!!!! hahahahahahah this is to all you doubters...HAHAHAH
- lilflipm42, on 09/30/2008, -0/+1AWW baby girl. Im sorry for your LOSS... But no...the Redskins will beat your Cowgirls next time around. Both sides of the ball will be out coached and out played....haahha you still have TO causing issues and a weak CB PACFAG
- JDenigma, on 09/29/2008, -1/+2Wait till the Redskins go to Seattle this season. That will be interesting ;-)
- StolenLamp, on 09/29/2008, -1/+2How original...
- rharami, on 09/30/2008, -0/+1I agree with everything you said. What gets me is that no one seems to mention that if Sam Hurd brings down the onside kick, the cowboys most likely win the game, even after being man handled all day long ( i didnt get to see the game when i made the last comment, now i have and they were dominated). The other thing is, how can you expect a defense to hold up when they were on the field that long. The cowboys lost this game on offense early, then almost won it. Doesnt that speak to something...... will power, fight, endurance? They are always in the game at the end despite being worthless throughout the game.
- lilflipm42, on 09/30/2008, -0/+1he is still a ***** tho
- MikeDirntRulez, on 09/29/2008, -0/+1As a Cowboys fan, I completely agree with you.
I think that the Cowboys weakness showed very well after yesterday's game -- themselves.
They all act like egotistical bastards when they lose, and never want to accept responsibility. I will agree with Barber's statement, but he could have kept it to himself. T.O. is always talking, nothing new. Between the penalties, the egos, and Romo's constant nervousness, I can actually see why people despise and sometimes doubt the cowboys.
However, you cannot doubt that the Cowboys are a great team. Inter-divisional games are always tough, especially in the NFC East. I would say that the Eagles, Redskins, and Giants are the only teams we really have a good chance of losing against this year.
And this is pure honesty. I know Digg hates Cowboys fans, but whatever... - dreslimmul, on 09/29/2008, -0/+1I believe he was making a reference to spelling error in the description above. Everyone who watches NFL football knows the Redskins-Cowboys is one of the best rivalries it has.
- JDenigma, on 09/29/2008, -2/+3Awwwwwww, you want your pacifier now? :-)
- tehjai, on 09/29/2008, -2/+2what?
- JDenigma, on 09/29/2008, -1/+1Yeah, it's funny. It's almost like I feel conflicted. On one hand I want to see all other NFC East teams lose their games so the Redskins can win their division, but then the other side of me in a warped sort of way I guess, is kind of hoping that they would win just so that there will be more bragging rights about the division. lol Well, I shouldn't let that conflict me because it would be counterproductive to the Redskins to have the other teams in the East win their games. I've gotta pull for what helps the Redskins :-)
That being said though, I'm surprised at what the Bears did last night. I didn't expect them to beat the Eagles. I guess the Bears were feeling desperate. Now the Bear fans are going to be bragging about having had their team beat an East team. It's going to be a tough game next week. Pivotal for both the Skins and Eagles and the Eagles don't want to fall to 2-3, especially not in this division. -
