He may have been trying to break it off and she knew it. They arranged "to talk" at the apartment and the rest is history.
How do we even know he lied to her. She may have had delusions the he was getting a divorce to marry her. I do not wish to disrespect the girl, but the only people who claim that are her family.

The man was a true professional on and off the field, especially through the communities he has served. This man was nothing short of a warrior who left everything on the field. So let's stop the judgements, this man's legacy and family do not deserve this. He should be remembered as the Steve McNair we all knew before these facts have been uncovered.
Best of luck to his family and friends and all the people he made an impact on in their personal lives.

It's embarrassing how everyone here loves to point out that woman x is not that hot. I guess it makes people feel better about themselves and their own conquests?
Second of all, anyone who knows about cheating knows that it is almost always an emotional thing (either dissatisfaction with the spouse, attraction to the lover, or both) and very rarely has to do with trying to find a hotter partner.
Third of all, unless you're a jerk, nobody is hot enough to be worth cheating -- i.e. breaking the heart of someone you supposedly love.
