- cride11, on 04/04/2009, -1/+12What is the point of receiving and completing a punishment for breaking a law in this society if once you have completed the punishment you still are not allowed to live a productive and normal life. Our system is set up to punish you for the rest of your life if you have ever even been suspected of committing a crime. It is actually pretty sad if you think about it.
side note- I am not a Vick sympathizer either. - wh3873, on 04/04/2009, -0/+8Aww he has to sell one of his TWO houses and one of his THREE cars.
I've got to amass massive debt go bankrupt and then I could be up one house and one car.
Can't out run the law... or your debts. - Sean42, on 04/04/2009, -0/+2Dupe comment.
- Traiklin, on 04/04/2009, -0/+5he could always ask the government for a bailout.
- str3ama, on 04/04/2009, -0/+5hurry up and get into a downward spiral and off yourself already. The world is actually a better place without scum like Vick.
- Sean42, on 04/04/2009, -1/+7I didn't say he should never be allowed to work again. Don't pull that kind of argumentative *****.
If he wanted to work at a homeless shelter, or McDonalds or Wal-Mart, that is fine.
There are TONS of career options taken away from you if you are a convicted felon , and I think a cushy life in the NFL serving as a role model for kids is one of the options that should be taken away.
It is called consequences. - Igrift, on 04/03/2009, -0/+4In the immortal words of the Quessn of Hearts "good riddance to bad rubbish".
- inactive, on 04/04/2009, -0/+5"telling the suspended NFL star to come up with a better way to pay back his creditors" How bout forcing him to fight in caged matches? im sure he would like the ironies of being treated like a dog.
- Sean42, on 04/04/2009, -0/+4I'll tell you what Krados, subject him to the same treatment he gave the dogs, and I'll call it even. No more grudges and he can go back to influencing kids while making millions of dollars.
Deal? - teamr, on 04/04/2009, -6/+10It's too bad Vick didnt work for PETA. Then he could have had hundreds of dogs killed and nobody would bat an eye. Now he's more evil than Hitler for funding some rinky dink dog fighting ring. I love this society. http://digg.com/pets_animals/PETA_s_Pet_Slaughterh ...
Where is that other NFL star that killed someone while driving drunk last year? In NFL training camp? Oh....ok.....He's lucky he didn't hit a dog, I guess. - thejumbo, on 04/04/2009, -0/+4Ruin couldn't happen to a better person. Eff him.
- cride11, on 04/04/2009, -1/+4Thank you!!
- Nintendesert, on 04/04/2009, -1/+4All this faux outrage towards Vick is getting old and cliche. He's paid a price for what he did, let him earn his living now.
- endustry, on 04/04/2009, -0/+3I agree. I volunteer at a dog shelter and spend a lot of time with pit bulls and have no sympathy for Mr. Vick but if our prison system isn't intended to rehabilitate people and provide them with the opportunity to resume their lives once they have completed their sentences, the whole thing is pointless.
- Chirp08, on 04/04/2009, -0/+3Except his accountant is the one who ***** up and basically stole from him. He had almost nothing to do with his bankruptcy, read up on it, there are quite a few articles on ESPN.com about the situation.
- inactive, on 04/04/2009, -0/+2Why is he in bankruptcy? I thought the government was in the business of bailing out losers.
- circuitworx, on 04/04/2009, -0/+1People who abuse animals usually are abusive to human beings. Mr. Vick needs some time to cool his heels in the cell, feel the financial consequences of his actions, and then have a comprehensive therapy program to fix his issues. Then he can earn his status back however possible.
- LoungeActx, on 04/04/2009, -0/+2In complete agreement. I don't condone what he did, but he's paid for it. If the man wishes to try to return to the NFL, then that's his business. In the meantime though, he should have a strong back-up plan in case that doesn't work out.
- iMike360, on 04/04/2009, -0/+2I think YOU and I will like the irony - him not so much.
- endustry, on 04/04/2009, -0/+2There are better ways to defend Mr. Vick's right to redemption than effectively reducing his crime to a misdemeanor. PETA is an insane cult but I doubt they hold doggy fight clubs to save on euthanasia supplies. Also, can you explain the difference between Vick's "rinky dink" operation and something larger? I just want to see if you know anything about dog fighting or if you're just doing what you can to trivialize his crime.
- inactive, on 04/04/2009, -0/+2***** those dead dogs
***** the nfl
***** the cops - dan8185, on 04/07/2009, -0/+1It's pretty bad nowadays when scum get credit and props for "owning up"
- thegrantman, on 04/04/2009, -2/+3He's outlived his usefulness as a bad example.
- douglajj, on 04/04/2009, -0/+1I'm not a Vick sympathizer either. However I find it very interesting how much people hate Vick. He owned up. He confessed he did it and took full responsibility. The world of professional athletics is filled with athletes who are constantly coming up with excuses and reasons why they needed to break the law. Look at Ray Lewis. No one is protesting that he's in the league.
- JacksonYaya, on 04/04/2009, -0/+1Woof!
- snitchon, on 04/06/2009, -0/+1Our justice system needs to be looked at and rework in so many ways. Vick after serving his time should be reinstated to play football or do what ever he wants as long as it is legal. Our legal system has too many ways of over acting to some who do petty crimes and doing too little to those who do major crimes, Vicks crimes ( killing dog(s) ) dog fights, was not petty, but does it deserve runing a persons for the rest of their life, no I don't think so. Leave that to those who murder, rape, or child abuse, at least for most of their life. Some people will eat their own words if Vick were a family member or friend as to the punishment he deserves.
Cherish Life,
Larry - cop1152, on 04/04/2009, -0/+0I agree with cride11....I dont condone what Vick has done, but he IS in prison. Lets let him 'pay his debt to society' and leave him alone. It seems like he keeps getting railroaded over and over. He screwed up in a horrible way. He tortured helpless animals. Its despicable, but not unforgivable if he changes...and I really believe he sees that what he has done is wrong. He will serve his prison sentence, but will never be allowed to live a normal life again.
- inactive, on 04/04/2009, -0/+0This is why it seems like the prison system sucks. It is not the prison itself, but the ***** in society who are unwilling to give ex-convicts another shot. So don't go ***** preaching about making the government change the prison system for better rehabilitation facilities when you ***** are just going to reject them in society anyway.
- DarkHornet, on 04/04/2009, -0/+4Here's a protip: don't spend the millions and millions you make as a star football player right away. Sort of hard to feel sorry for a man that not only was heading a dogfighting ring, but also made obscene amounts of cash anyway.
- Sean42, on 04/04/2009, -4/+8I will boycott the NFL and their sponsors if this POS is allowed back in the league.
- deathmatch, on 04/04/2009, -1/+0buncha dogs shouldn't dictate his career to that severity.
- kaylaw321, on 04/04/2009, -0/+1I do not care about anything to do with Micheal Vick
- krados, on 04/04/2009, -3/+3He will have served nearly 2 years in jail and lost millions of dollars while being there and as of a result has to file bankruptcy. How many more consequences does he need to face before the message "MICHAEL VICK YOU HAVE DONE BAD!" gets across?
- sayoshinn, on 04/04/2009, -0/+2Whats this about Mike Vick running a dog fighting ring? This is the first I'm hearing about this.
Also, I guess Mac has an application store now too for the iphone just in case anyone hasn't heard of that yet. - FriedSperm, on 04/04/2009, -1/+1Have you freaks ever heard of forgiveness? Forgive Michael Vick, he kicks ass.
- Sean42, on 04/04/2009, -0/+2It is not faux outrage. Your assumption is baseless.
I'll tell you what Nintendesert, subject him to the same treatment he gave the dogs, and I'll call it even. No more grudges and he can go back to influencing kids while making millions of dollars.
Deal? - TomK88, on 04/04/2009, -7/+4You're right. He should never be allowed to work ever again. After all, he'll be a much more productive member of society if he doesn't pay back his creditors and he just sits around doing nothing all day.
