- brjndr, on 01/03/2008, -5/+17You just wait until my Lakers hit a home run to win the Superbowl.
- Gerchak, on 01/03/2008, -7/+18Personally I'd love to see the Packers face the Patriots in the Super Bowl. Not only is it a Super Bowl rematch, but both teams have so much to prove. Mike McCarthy, in only two years of coaching, has taken a team full of fresh young players into the playoffs, with the legendary Favre looking to end his career on a high note. Meanwhile, the Patriots are eager to turn their dynasty into an empire, hitting their zenith with a completely perfect season thanks in part to the phenomenal duo of Brady and Moss.
Maybe you'd like to see some other teams in the Super Bowl instead, but in thinking so, you admit that you want to see the Pats squashed in some fashion. For those of you that do, what better place than at the Super Bowl, where the stakes are at their peak?
I think if the Packers and the Pats meet at the Super Bowl, it's going to be epic. Massively epic. - Idgit, on 01/04/2008, -0/+10*whoosh*
That went right over eternal464's head - ndiderrich, on 01/03/2008, -10/+16Go! Pack Go!
- joncarr, on 01/03/2008, -4/+10...all the way to the AFC title game, where they loose to the Patriots. :p
- reaper527, on 01/04/2008, -1/+7i think the pats have a great chance to win it all. i may be biased by living in mass, however the pats
1. had an undefeated season
2. are the #1 seed in the afc, and beat the #2, #3, #4 seeds already (and would have beaten the number 6 if the browns got the spot instead of the titans), and beat the #1, #5, and #6 seeds in the nfc.
i still think dallas is a bit over rated and think that greenbay will make it to the superbowl. - mal1964, on 01/03/2008, -0/+5I'm a big Jack Del Rio, Mike Tice and old man Fred Taylor fan, its about time he made the pro bowl ! . But both are just a gut feeling.
- DeskFlyer, on 01/03/2008, -3/+8Just think what would happen if the Pats don't take it all....
- XxERMxX, on 01/04/2008, -1/+5Not until the Revolution win a championship
- NSMike, on 01/03/2008, -1/+5I'm not talking about the team, I'm talking about the city. We're not a dying "rust belt" city, Pittsburgh's industry has moved firmly into technology.
- habhi, on 01/03/2008, -3/+7The giants only beat one team with a winning record all year. Eli will get torn to shreds by the Bucs defense.
- joshblufs, on 01/03/2008, -2/+6you mean next season when they lose a bunch of players and are only mostly dominant instead of an unstoppable juggernaut?
- RonnyIsRondo, on 01/03/2008, -3/+6and does anyone actually think any nfc team beat the pats colts or jags?
- inactive, on 01/04/2008, -0/+3I hate the Packers even more (die hard Bears fan)...but I'm just sick of seeing the Pats talked about during 1/3 of Sportscenter.
I'd also like to see Peyton Manning's face get smashed and deformed...I don't hate the guy, but jesus christ he's in 50% of the damn commercials during football season. - joshblufs, on 01/03/2008, -2/+5Everything in the universe stops instantaneously and collapses in on itself?
- JDenigma, on 01/04/2008, -0/+3You get a digg simply for saying that the Redskins will be in the Superbowl. I can dream, can't I?
- JDenigma, on 01/04/2008, -1/+4Ok, now for the obligatory.....
Go Skins go! - NSMike, on 01/03/2008, -0/+3That doesn't surprise me. Fidelity National Financial has several companies based in the Pittsburgh area, and Fidelity corporate headquarters is in Jacksonville. Plus some people don't like the Pittsburgh winters. Whatever their reasons for leaving, Pittsburgh's population remains fairly stable, with some decrease, primarily because you need some pretty substantial education to get a good job around here.
- Cwan123, on 01/03/2008, -2/+5errr... did someone miss what happened last week?
- CraigJ, on 01/03/2008, -0/+3I don't thing the Nets have a chance, frankly.
- fadetoone, on 01/03/2008, -3/+5If?
- inactive, on 01/03/2008, -7/+9Favre ain't making it to another Super Bowl just to lose to the Pats. Just because the Colts continually lose doesn't mean the Pack is.
- JDenigma, on 01/04/2008, -0/+2It's true that the Cowboys were playing a meaningless for them, if there is such a thing as a truly meaningless game. It's true that they were also without T.O. along with a few other starters, but remember this...........
Do you think the Cowboys would rather face the Redskins or the winner of the Bucs/Giants game? I think you know the answer ;-) Remember, the Cowboys and Redskins are divisional opponents who know each other very well. The Redskins are arguably the hottest team in the playoffs being carried by emotion and if there is anyone who is capable of upsetting the Cowboys in the playoffs, it would be the Redskins. When the Redskins and Cowboys play each other, the cliche "any given Sunday" certainly applies. The Redskins would like nothing better than to win in the playoffs against the Boys in the honor of their fallen teammate, Sean Taylor. Remember, the Redskins played the Cowboys in a meaningful game in Dallas earlier in the year and they almost beat Dallas in the end if not for the late interception by the young Jason Campbell. That was a game in which T.O. was also playing in as well and yet the Redskins were still competitive and almost beat Dallas in the end. Mind you, T.O. never ever would have had all those touchdowns had Sean Taylor been playing in that game. Sean Taylor owned Terrel's ass. So be careful what you wish for. - pwhite3, on 01/04/2008, -2/+4Whoever wrote this article hardly follows the NFL with any regularity. I'm sure he gets his giggles from fat little Frank Caliendo in the morning and then sparingly watches any games while he falls in and out of sleep on Sundays. I've been a Hawks fan my whole life and I think that we have a real good shot at winning this weeks game, but we'll see if the running game can gain some speed and get us into the Super Bowl. Todd Collins has been pretty sharp the last 4 games, but somehow people aren't realizing that Todd Collins is ***** TODD COLLINS. There had to have been a reason why he didn't throw a pass for 10 years before this season. Maybe it's because he is a chode riding a hot streak right now. He will crash and burn at the Q. 3 INTs on saturday, 2 by Trufant.
- mucko, on 01/04/2008, -0/+2The Colts continually lose? Check the result of last year's Super Bowl, buddy.
- LightPhoenix, on 01/04/2008, -0/+2No one asked that question because it's a retarded question. It doesn't matter what side you're on on the scandal, the Patriots are the best team in the NFL right now - and not because of the record. If they had lost a game or two, they'd still be rediculously good.
- mal1964, on 01/04/2008, -0/+2I know talented football players, get you a long ways. but look at the coaches that in the playoffs, . That isn't an accident .
- Chubs879, on 01/04/2008, -0/+2I'm rooting for the Seahawk's, but chances aren't good. Not good at all.
The Patriots will probably win it all, and there's no point in being a hater, because they're not even cocky about it. They are perfection on the football field, including a certain degree of humility. - nick2, on 01/04/2008, -0/+2You're obviously a bears, lions or vikings fan.
- JDenigma, on 01/04/2008, -0/+2Go Skins go! ;-)
- NSMike, on 01/04/2008, -0/+2See my other comments below. I wasn't talking about the team. I know the Steelers are going to lose, we've got too many injured that were too important to the team.
- nick2, on 01/04/2008, -0/+2I'm sorry, but I don't think Pittsburgh will be able to survive. They're too banged up right now.
- chijim70, on 01/04/2008, -0/+2I'm a Bears fan here in Chicago and I wouldn't mind seeing them get one last one for Favre. We're rivals but hey if we can't win more power to the guy on probably his last year. My brain tells me pats my heart tells me packers. I thought this article was crazy though... I agreed with him like 80%. Ultimately agreed on it coming down to pats and packers for like a month and a half now I've been saying that.
- OneLess, on 01/04/2008, -1/+3Sorry, pretty much every decent AFC team is ultimately better than any NFC team.
- MattnJax, on 01/03/2008, -0/+2Well I hope you're right my man.
- JDenigma, on 01/04/2008, -0/+2Awww come on, who can hate Peyton Manning. Everyone likes him and Favre.
- arial, on 01/04/2008, -1/+3^ idiot
- RonnyIsRondo, on 01/04/2008, -0/+2Miami had a chance too. When it comes down to it who would you bet on?
- CaptainNoPants, on 01/10/2008, -0/+1haha, apparently not!
- CaptainNoPants, on 01/10/2008, -0/+1over his head? are you daft? try reading that again.
- nick2, on 01/04/2008, -0/+1If healthy, the Packers have a real chance
- tehnico, on 01/04/2008, -0/+1Funny I thought it came down to Dwight Freeny. They had the game, lost the pass rush when Freeny went out, and Pats were able to queue the comeback.
- RonnyIsRondo, on 01/04/2008, -0/+1do the jags still need to worry about the saints?
- datastorageguy, on 01/04/2008, -0/+1You frigging sports commie. Begone!!
- DirkStolli, on 01/07/2008, -0/+1FIRE MILLEN!!
- 1Projector, on 01/09/2008, -0/+1Green Bay beats Seattle by 7+ ....... Dallas loses to Giants by 7+ ....... Green Bay beats Giants by 7+ ....... REPEAT OF SUPER BOWL XXXI !!! GO PACK GO, GO PACK GO, GO PACK GO. Anyone else see this coming ? Please tell me I'm not the only one! LOL
- JDenigma, on 01/04/2008, -2/+3I dugg you just for hoping for someone to beat the EVIL Patriots. lol I'm hoping my some miraculous stretch of the imagination though that it will be the Redskins to upset them, getting revenge on the Patriots for that shellacking in the regular season they took from them.
- JDenigma, on 01/04/2008, -2/+3I'm a Redskins fan too and I don't understand why you got buried for that innocent remark. These NFL threads I think seem to invite those bury parties ;-)
- maanico1, on 01/03/2008, -6/+7"Washington over Seattle
Everyone is pinning the 'Skins resurgence on Sean Williams (including me to an extent), but it might be a good time to examine Clinton Portis's recent contributions. "
who the hell is sean williams? is that an amalgamation of sean taylor and greg williams? - tehsilentcircus, on 01/13/2008, -0/+1Pack and Pats in the super bowl for sure. And the Pack will win because they are the only team that can stop the Pats. The Pats offense needs a good beating, and i think the Pack will deliver.
