- redwolfwalker, on 01/02/2009, -0/+19The article is a couple of years old, but looks very descriptive with several pictures available, a truly remarkable story.
- mmaine, on 01/03/2009, -0/+12I didn't expect to cry reading a football story, but I did.
This is such a wonderful story. I read every word and I am so happy that I did.
Thanks so much for finding and sharing redwolfwalker!! - EMFK, on 01/03/2009, -0/+10I finally sat down and read the entire story. I'm going to buy the book. Congratulations to Michael Oher. What a tremendous and uplifting story. Wow!! Yes, I cried too. When I see him on Sundays, I will remember this story. Thank you so much for posting this story, redwolfwalker.
- allaboutdatiki, on 01/03/2009, -0/+9Damn, that was great stuff.
- redwolfwalker, on 01/03/2009, -1/+9Lame remark from a digger who has never submitted anything, many diggers have not seen this article, and I believe it is the best one available to tell the inspiring story of Mike Oher
- asgardshill, on 01/03/2009, -0/+7Marvelous story - forwarded to several people I know (including two on NFL first teams).
The mock draft projections I've seen show Michael Oher going as high as Top Five of the first round of the NFL draft this year. Unbelievably, there are still questions about his headiness, but everything I've seen so far show that he's been a monster at OT. The Bengals sure could use this guy - Carson Palmer ain't getting any younger and keeps getting planted headfirst in the ground like a turnip. - betheturtle, on 01/03/2009, -0/+7I don't even care about football and this was cool.
- john2kx, on 01/03/2009, -0/+6who cares? It was a good read. Thanks, and dugg.
- Wadadli24, on 01/03/2009, -0/+6Ive read this book several times and this paticular article several times, and it never ceases to amaze!
truly an incredible story - The5nowman, on 01/03/2009, -0/+6An awe-inspiring story. You really see the effects of doing good can be.
- Serenikill, on 01/03/2009, -0/+6Great story, will be interesting to see where this guy goes
- bdpf, on 01/04/2009, -0/+5Dig the He** out of it !!!!!!!!!!
- UnterDenLinden, on 01/03/2009, -1/+5Yeah, I've read the book, it was pretty good, just lots more detail and stories combined with lots of football history. Kinda felt it was too long but still interesting for sure.
- Samohtneas, on 01/03/2009, -1/+5This is really strange to me. My name happens to be Sean, and my father used to call me "Big Mike" when I was a toddler.
What the *****. Still, a great story. Never heard of this before.. - madpenguin2, on 01/03/2009, -0/+4the best, most inspirational reading i've had in months. I even sent it to my wife who's a teacher at an alternative school...
- randall82, on 01/03/2009, -0/+4It's inspirational...but damn...if you have problems learning, you'd better be able to play football. This kid was damn near grown before anyone even started to help him out. I wish he had gotten help at a much younger age, but I'm glad to see someone helped him in the end.
- inactive, on 01/03/2009, -0/+4I love Americans, there's always a heart warming story to be told somewhere.
- eouhhohh, on 01/03/2009, -0/+4This story had me so interested I would scroll a paragraph at a time reading only from the bottom of the screen!
- samoanrob, on 01/03/2009, -1/+4Texas Tech found out how good he was on Thursday. The Blind Side was a good audio CD. Same author as Moneyball, Liar's Poker. Mel Kuiper has Oher 10th overall, with 2 Tackles ahead of him: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/melkiper/index
Tho, I've read he could slide lower due to intangibles. Rooting for him. I was rooting for Mike Tyson's feel-good story, too, tho. From the book seems Big Mike was better kid than Iron Mike. Go Rebels. - CoolHandLuke, on 01/04/2009, -0/+2"but what about all the other inner city black kids who aren't 300 pounds and can't play football?"
They are YOUR responsibility. Go get a few and give them room, board and an education.
Hurry up! They need you. - itsJALbert, on 01/04/2009, -0/+2Michael Lewis also wrote Moneyball, and has an entire book devoted to Michael Oher called The Blind Side. It's a very good read, and delightfully concise.
- asgardshill, on 01/03/2009, -1/+2Go get bent. Seriously.
- Spikedmilk, on 01/04/2009, -1/+2So, the kid, with an IQ of 80, gets the potential of making millions of dollars a year because his rich, white, homophobic, religious nut parents used the internet to give him a GPA he technically didn't deserve, because he could play football. Yes, it was an uplifting story, but what about all the other inner city black kids who aren't 300 pounds and can't play football?
- sashimi6, on 01/04/2009, -0/+1I wish this fellow played for my school... Well at least we have cool song!

Wife like typing detected. - DaveBlaze, on 01/03/2009, -6/+2It does no good to submit. You power diggers have your group of other power digger friends blind digg your stories. Tell me, how many of the stories you dugg did you actually read?
