- ViperCTW, on 07/01/2009, -0/+23For some reason I thought this article was going to be far more interesting than it was
- alarion, on 07/01/2009, -1/+14"He was released after the 2008 preseason, but was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers on September 10, 2009."
o rly? - ennuisquared, on 07/01/2009, -1/+14Dugg for the "single page" link. Other websites should follow suit.
- jkneis, on 07/01/2009, -0/+6Rookie Minimum is $400,000 a year / 16 games a year = 25,000 for one game played. Hell, suit me up I will take that to get beat up on by some NFL players for one game.
- Deausx, on 07/01/2009, -1/+7Wow, that popup in the middle of the page was intensely irritating. I've even got ABP installed and i still saw it.
- mccune, on 07/01/2009, -0/+5I'm going to take a shot in the dark here, and say that it's because those people have played just one game in their careers.
- AeroZeppelin, on 07/01/2009, -0/+5No, a lot of NFL player's salaries don't exceed one million dollars a year, let alone for one game.
- Treshnell, on 07/01/2009, -0/+4Er...Martin Nance: "He was released after the 2008 preseason, but was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers on September 10, 2009."?
- Peleus, on 07/01/2009, -0/+4Buried for recurring pop up ad asking to subscribe.
- bluesdealer, on 07/01/2009, -0/+4Try a lifetime of extremely hard work and pushing your physical limits plus exceptional genetics. It's not like just anyone can get drafted into the NFL.
- robEstyles, on 07/01/2009, -1/+5flux capacitor
- Treshnell, on 07/01/2009, -0/+4Also, "Again, thanks to the lack of box score data from a half-millennium ago, it is not clear exactly when O'Malley had this horrendous game."
Didn't realize the NFL existed 500 years ago... - glue, on 07/01/2009, -1/+4That's pretty impressive.
- JAVandiver, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3Will Cureton & his family were my next door neighbors and friends growing up. I have not seen them for almost a decade, but my family still keeps in touch. Currently he is a rather successful property developer in Dallas. Honestly, growing up he always seemed more interested in golf than football.
- Actionjax1, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3RUDY! RUDY! RUDY! RUDY! RUDY! RUDY!
- ChuyMX, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3single page should be default
- hankthedwarf, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3Buried for Bleacher Report's stupid ***** popup newsletter signup thing, or whatever the ***** that thing is. Way to make sure nobody ever wants to return to your website.
- matt.rubin, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3Dugg for single page option.
- newlander, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3why so many pages?
- robEstyles, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2If they play again they would have played more than a one-game career. The article made it sound like it was a list of one and done players.
Although I also see the error in what I wrote so touche' my friend touche' - robbob, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2OP should've taken note
- jkneis, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2Interesting stuff. It is easy to forget these players that helped or hurt their team for only one game.
- MurtazaJamali, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2I don't know if anyone from Chicago remembers this, but I think the funniest "one-gamer" I've seen was Henry Burris at quarterback for the Bears at the end of a game for three plays.
The three plays were him falling on his ass after snapping the ball, throwing an interception that was called back due to a penalty, and subsequently throwing another interception to end the game.
He also had one of the funniest QB squats I've ever seen - Chunken, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2So it was essentially a 2 page article instead of 3. How about just putting it all on one page to start with?
- rednaxela825, on 07/07/2009, -0/+2That's still the same amount of clicks as if you just read the first page and then click to the second page.
- Relocate, on 07/17/2009, -0/+1One up - The 5 Second NFL Career
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/210336-the-5-se ... - robEstyles, on 07/01/2009, -1/+2How are these one-game careers if some of these are from 2008 and state that the player has re-signed for 2009.
- Valyn, on 07/01/2009, -1/+2Never mind the popups trying to get your email...
- steeltormentor, on 07/01/2009, -0/+1Dugg this story for the 'prison to NFL to prison' story. I remember the strike season of '87 but didn't realize it got that bad. Talk about living a boyhood dream. QB against Dallas on Monday Night? It doesn't get very much more thrilling for a walk-on.
/+1 for the submitter - jba68, on 07/01/2009, -0/+1click the one page link....
- shnuffy, on 07/01/2009, -5/+6One game. Several million dollars. How do I get me some of that?
- rahga, on 07/01/2009, -3/+1And for some reason, the wonks at Wikipedia insist that all of those one-gamers deserve their very own page, getting credit for their name than they probably deserve.
In defense of my brother's name, I would like to say: David Henry Hoelscher, you are a worthless athlete and you'll never amount to anything in your life. Less than one game for the Redskins. You, sir, are pathetic.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Hoelscher - orthodoxDrew, on 07/01/2009, -7/+2hehe. Ball.
