- vinceislegend, on 12/31/2008, -1/+19Bill Cowher has a large chin.
- igorficas, on 12/31/2008, -2/+17Cowher should go to the Lions. Maybe they could win two games with him.
- BugsSport, on 12/31/2008, -2/+16What? Brett Favre is gonna win 5 or 6 Superbowls in a row!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HOZg5kHA9s - FreddieD, on 12/31/2008, -0/+13If we waited for jews and muslims to stop killing each other before talking about anything else, the earth would be a very quiet place.
- apastafarian, on 12/31/2008, -0/+10I suspect the report is total BS. Favre is done, finished, not an issue! The Jets don't have a "QB of the future" which means they will have to draft and develop one, that takes time. The Jets front office has shown over and over that they will not give a coach enough time and support to win. There's a reason Belichick bolted after Parcells left. If Cowher rejected the Jets, it's because he rejected the Jets organization, not Favre..
- plainOldFool, on 12/31/2008, -5/+14I'm a steeler fan ... I happy he turned them down ;-)
- Tallon29, on 12/31/2008, -0/+7*Division
- irfanmp, on 12/31/2008, -8/+15He says he turned it down because of Favre, but I think it's just because he hates the Jets...and honestly, I don't blame him.
- DickyT83, on 12/31/2008, -4/+10Cowher is and always will be a Steeler at heart, he'd never take a job in that conference unless it was the Steelers.
- charlesray, on 12/31/2008, -1/+7I get the feeling Cowher won't end up coaching anywhere again. He'll probably just end up as President or GM of the Steelers in a few years time. It seems like he thinks he wants to coach again, but when it comes down to it he still loves the Steelers too much. That may be wishful thinking on my part, but he's been linked to quite a few jobs recently and turned them all down.
Plus, Mike Tomlin isn't getting fired anytime soon, he's too goddamn awesome. - jba68, on 12/31/2008, -1/+7what? Jets the best oppurtunity? I dont know about that. The best oppurtunity is now Denver, with a top, young qb, receivers, and if they can keep em healthy, running back.
the defense needs work, but that is something that cowher excels in.
The Jets though solid, have an old running back, and no qb an older wr, they do have a solid d. Broncos would be a better option
dont really care what happens to afc teams anyway....
/bitter cowboys fan - FreddieD, on 12/31/2008, -0/+4That guy is flat out talented in his impersonations.. not only because he can do so many but because he can do so many *really* well.
I wonder why SNL never picked him up. Not only talented but he could have filled SNL's gap as the token fat guy to boot. - hawksfan03, on 01/01/2009, -0/+4i don't know how he keeps a straight face when doing those.
- kjones555, on 12/31/2008, -0/+4After seeing Sunday's game, can't really blame the guy...
- KreegsMcSteves, on 12/31/2008, -1/+5Cowher won't go anywhere except back to the Steelers (which won't happen unless Tomlin gets fired). If you watch NFL Today on CBS before the games, or even the halftime show they do, he's still not over them. He constantly talks about how great they are, and how Rothlisberger is the greatest quaterback. Yes, the Steelers are a good team, but he's so god damn biased it's ridiculous. He might as well just roll a chair over to Rothlisberger, get him to drop his pants, and go to town.
NFL Today used to be amazing.. now with Cowher on it, it's almost as bad as the pre-game show Fox puts on... - vanzan, on 12/31/2008, -0/+3Cowher is turning all offers down because he is off the market during 2009.
- FreddieD, on 12/31/2008, -1/+4On a related note, I just took the browns to the super bowl.
- socomoddjob, on 12/31/2008, -1/+4Cowher won once in like 20 years, whats the big deal about this guy?
- inactive, on 12/31/2008, -0/+2Good for him.
- Foot56, on 12/31/2008, -0/+2Ya I see him in the head office pretty soon also. He has deep respect for the Rooney's.
- holzp, on 12/31/2008, -0/+2Not gonna be a problem soon!
- brewer, on 12/31/2008, -0/+2except he said that he has two daughters going to school in NY and would like to coach an NY team.
- Cheesasaurus, on 12/31/2008, -0/+2You just accidentally the whole Broncos.
- GreatOne08, on 12/31/2008, -0/+2Tom Brady's rehab is behind schedule, I doubt Pats will let Matt go.
- mindvise, on 12/31/2008, -0/+2AMEN! Bring a defense to Denver and we'll be instant contenders. I love Shanny but Bowlen was right....it is simply time for a change.
- jba68, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1Dont Buy into Cassel.
He did a great job for the pats, but they have great coaching and players around him to help him out.
He is still just a backup. The pats are going to franchise him anyway. - WhiteMike87, on 12/31/2008, -1/+2even just 1, to give the lions SOMETHING to work with.
- SteveMTyler, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1cowher needs a rebuilding team like detroit. Not a team that expects to be instant contenders the moment he walks in the city. He needs assurance he won't be fired for going 4-12 the first season, or missing the playoffs for a few years. Detroit is too bad, but he needs an owner like rooney.
He had some 6-10 seasons with PIT and his job was never a question. - stupidclese, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1Bill....please come to the Chiefs. We can't take any more of Herm Edwards.
- bills534, on 01/02/2009, -0/+1Why does everybody ignore the fact that he said he was not going to coach in 2009? He told this to the owner of the Browns a week ago. Bill Cowher will not coach any team in the 2009 season, save all this talk for next year.
- SuperMoses, on 01/01/2009, -0/+1http://images.smarter.com/blogs/brettfavre1.jpg
- NoLibertarians, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1His real desire is the Panthers..He won't go to NY..He already froze his ass off in Pittsburg..These guys never say what they mean..I doubt he wants anything to do with the NY press but I am sure he would be flattered by an offer. The more teams he can play against each other the more he can get...A GM position in NY might interest him !!
- c010rb1indusa, on 12/31/2008, -3/+4Get rid of favre, sign Matt Cassel, and let Cowher build a good defense and a consistent offense like he did with the steelers, you've got 2 great RBs in thomas jones and leon washington, and dynamic WRs in Coles and Cotchery. Matt Cassel would be a good fit.
- frombeyond, on 12/31/2008, -2/+3Never liked Favre since he took a dive for Michael Strahan to take the sack record from Mark Gastinueau. I didnt really like Gastineau, but that was... cheating.
And then The Jets sign him yet (Gastineau was a Jet). Id get rid of him and take Cowher. - rillo561, on 12/31/2008, -2/+3All hype, he'll probably go to the Broncos. As a JETS fan I really wish Favre would just go away. I didn't want the guy here in the first place. ***** diva.
- fauxbro, on 12/31/2008, -1/+1Cowher has Teenage daughters who are close to graduating. He want's to spend time with them. That's what he said when he retired. Head Coaches work 100+ hours a week and these day's there is no off-season. He was absent for much of his daughters life, leave the man alone. When they graduate and he has an empty nest he will be more than happy to coach.
- NathanLoehlein, on 07/27/2009, -1/+1They can't afford to keep them both, and they're not gonna let Brady go.
- lolwaffle, on 12/31/2008, -1/+1Bill Cowher's mustache!!!... Bill Cowher's mustache!!!...
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/293154 - AnonBuffalo, on 12/31/2008, -4/+4I am still upset he turned down the browns.
- NoLibertarians, on 12/31/2008, -2/+2BS..He has a home in NC and will eventually take a job with a warm weather team somewhere in that area
- raphaeltmnt, on 12/31/2008, -3/+1I probably would've too.
- ohhaiitsryan, on 12/31/2008, -11/+10***** favre.
- NYCtoSeattle, on 12/31/2008, -4/+1You obviously have no idea what your talking about. The Jets head coaching vacancy is the best opportunity out there right now. Other than not knowing if Favre will be back next year (typical), the team is solid. But of course, your a hater and you obviously haven't the slightest idea what your talking about...putz.
- inactive, on 12/31/2008, -5/+1Everybody, including Cowher, knows Favre is a has-been.
