- tubalcane, on 10/17/2008, -1/+31Last time I checked you can still watch it for free at home.
- LMControl, on 10/17/2008, -0/+20Screw the $1000 for a ticket, that's not very hard. Getting the opportunity to buy one of those tickets is nearly impossible!
- Mark2600, on 10/17/2008, -4/+18Not for nothing, but this was on the front page 5 hours ago. At least give it the old college try.
http://digg.com/extreme_sports/Official_price_of_S ... - RealmDown, on 10/17/2008, -0/+9Not only can I watch it free from home, but I have *good* beer. Not the swill they sell at the stadium at a low 11% APR.
And then there is the added bonus of ignoring multi-million dollar commercials. - Danik55, on 10/17/2008, -4/+12No, it's called a high demand for a small supply. Go get a job, hippie.
- SACubeMonkey, on 10/17/2008, -0/+611%APR? That's cool. I didn't know you could finance beverages at the superbowl.
- inactive, on 10/17/2008, -0/+5greedy aholes
- dirtyfrog, on 10/17/2008, -0/+5You do realize that when they changed Monday Night Football to ESPN they moved Sunday Night Football to NBC right?
- subarusqueege, on 10/17/2008, -1/+5BREAKING- this just in...AIG executives bought the whole lot...sorry guys :(
- Eldorian, on 10/17/2008, -1/+5I think they realized the Colts and Pats weren't gonna meet in the Super Bowl for quite some time.
- kethan, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3For the first time? More like "for the first time, legally"
- inactive, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3You know, because the Internet only exists in your time zone.
- mrjah, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3I went to the Patriots/Rams Super Bowl in 2002. I paid face value of $400 and sat on the 50 yard line. It was worth it to make the trip once with great seats (and see one of the best SB endings ever, as it turned out).
Since then, SB ticket prices have gone up by $100 almost every year. Now more than ever, the idea of selling SB tickets to regular fans is dead and buried. - mac3687, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3Considering they're both in the AFC, this would actually never happen. But an AFC Championship game would still be nice!
- FlyingPhotog, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3The Cowboys better get their heads out of their collective asses if they're to have a realistic shot. And you better pray Romo's pinky holds up.
- Charlotte_Web, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3The price is extreme.
- coasterswim, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3And you also realize that the Super Bowl has the most expensive commercials of the year. Something it's kind of known for...
- DefaultGen, on 10/17/2008, -6/+8How did you find 100 people who haven't been on the front page to digg this?
- mrDanielC, on 10/17/2008, -1/+3Time to bury this one for good!
- m00nmaster, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2Why is that under extreme sports?
- Ladygreen, on 10/17/2008, -1/+3Proof that professional sports are not about the fans. How can "normal" folks pay for tickets and go to games? This is riddiculous, "cut prices to $500.00" Holy crap batman!
How about "In an extremely generous move, one never expected of these mulit-million dollar earning sports figures, the players and owners have decided to purchase the tickets themselves and to give them to ordinary sports fans who never dreamed they could see a live superbowl." - Scrappy1850, on 10/17/2008, -1/+3you think the game attendees are watching the commercials?
- nofate2029, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2I'd rather stay at home, grill some burgers & steaks and have beers with friends while we watch the big game...rather than have to peer through binoculars to view the game.
- RealmDown, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2Bonus in this case means something I can do at home that I couldn't at the game. I *enjoy* ignoring commercials, but get a special thrill out of not watching the ones that cost them millions.
- j00fek, on 10/17/2008, -1/+3DUPE
http://digg.com/extreme_sports/Official_price_of_S ... - GQCarrick, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2Barely, the NFL eliminated group celebrations, even at home its a penalty and most likely a fine of some sort.
- GQCarrick, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2This is no longer an event for fans, its just a corporate event for the No Fun League.
- alex7575, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2No one else saw this coming?!? LOL
- Dereliction, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2So, they raised the price on some tickets that were already expensive and lowered others in the "middle" price range? Is this ... is this part of Obama's tax plan or something?
- username7410, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2Nice of them to increase the profit for scalpers. These are tough economic times for everyone.
/sarcasm - bstew22, on 10/17/2008, -0/+1bleh, I meant the playoffs. Since the Colts and Pats have dominated the playoffs in recent years.. it doesn't look likely this year, but the colts look like they could turn it around.
- inactive, on 10/17/2008, -0/+1***** Americans are pussies.
- spvn, on 10/17/2008, -0/+1wow in this time of economic crisis they're CUTTING prices? I'm impressed.
- inactive, on 10/17/2008, -0/+1Maybe I can ask Jerry Jones for some tickets?
- RSS14, on 10/17/2008, -3/+4It's called capitalism, and it rules.
- Oea420, on 10/17/2008, -0/+1lawl
- darny, on 10/17/2008, -0/+1Dear Digg,
Please fix your website.
Thanks,
Everyone - Zedian, on 10/17/2008, -0/+1No problem he'll just get Jessica to make his little boo-boo all better by Sunday for the lowly Rams.
*Rolls eyes* - hasslinthehoff, on 10/17/2008, -0/+1I'll buy one only if the price includes all you can eat hot dogs.
- duder83, on 10/17/2008, -0/+1agreed. Especially with HD cable looking so nice now. It's almost like you're at the game... except beers are cheaper, the pisser is 15 feet away, and you can give your wife a quickie at half time.
- Zedian, on 10/17/2008, -0/+1Well at least they still get victory celebrations in the end zone that don't cost them games.
- cmorriss, on 10/17/2008, -0/+1They only cut prices on 1,000 tickets to a measly $500. 54,000 are selling for $800 and 18,000 of the suite and box seats are selling for $1000. It's just PR. The reality is they could charge double or triple these prices and still sell out without a problem.
- aoou4444, on 10/17/2008, -0/+0Yeah, they should follow boxing's lead... look how well that's doing these days.
- MadThrasher, on 10/17/2008, -1/+1what a bunch of douches
- inactive, on 10/17/2008, -1/+1Shows what you know, in Tampa there isnt one seat in the stadium where you need binoculars. In fact, most new stadiums don't have one seat in their house that requires binoculars, unless of course your vision sucks.
- Wolfie351, on 10/17/2008, -1/+1Does this really matter? 90% of the tickets are given away to corporate sponsors which are filtered down to employees who then try to sell them. There should be a 50/50 split between the two competing teams' season ticket holders...done

A super bowl in tampa and (possibly) a world series in St. Pete at the Trop, which is only a few blocks from my apartment. I can't wait!
