- FirstCuts, on 10/21/2009, -3/+112Hoping and praying someone with brains steps in and decides that this doesn't need government intervention. I am a sports nut, but there are better things to worry about in this world!
- DDRSkata, on 10/21/2009, -6/+78Don't give us health care coverage comparable to the rest of the modern world, but sure, spend millions of tax dollars to investigate some college football *****. Awesome idea, Hatch.
- MikeFromAmerica, on 10/21/2009, -2/+44Next I hope Obama/Congress overturn the disputed 1996 All-Kansas Spelling Bee. I had a lot of money riding on that.
- justsomeguy1313, on 10/21/2009, -0/+30I'd say this falls in line with the national priorities right now: 1. War, 2. Healthcare, 3. Football.
- SimplyPerfect, on 10/22/2009, -3/+28THIS is why we need to elect a new CONGRESS

- trolleyfan, on 10/22/2009, -1/+13Why the hell does the government have *anything* to do with how sports are run...amateur or professional? You know, there *are* better things for it to do with its time...
- chieflbm, on 10/21/2009, -14/+24Why not? The leader of the free world took a trip to beg for the Olympics, why not spend time fixing sports ?? Eff me.
/s - sulthernao, on 10/22/2009, -0/+10Even better comparison is that Orrin Hatch cares more about the violation of anti-trust and competition of college football than the violation of anti-trust and competition of insurance companies.
- Surrix, on 10/22/2009, -2/+11Yes Mr. President could you please write this one in on your TODO list. Preferably in between solving the war in Iraq and the health care crisis that would be great.
- Dr.Fade, on 10/22/2009, -4/+13Oh for Christ's sake it only collage ***** football. We have way more important things to worry about.
- SimplyPerfect, on 10/22/2009, -0/+9nahh
- JuanBSU, on 10/22/2009, -0/+9I'd probably throw the economy in there somewhere as well.
- gilbes, on 10/22/2009, -7/+16Sounds like a Republican is advocating for a socialist college football system and whiny like a little baby girl about it because his state's team didn't make it in under the guise of anti-trust *****. Maybe next Obama can personally investigate how ties are handled in the NFL.
All this while his party of douche bags is hammer the guy because he is not spending enough time on critical issues, according to them.
So to recap the Republican position, socialism is bad when it saves lives, good for sports AND HOT ***** DARE OBAMA EVEN TOUCH THIS ISSUE BECAUSE ITS NOT CRITICAL!
I hope they understand their douchebaggery has guaranteed they will lose even more power in the 2010 elections
. - jrm125, on 10/21/2009, -3/+11Americaaaa.....***** yea!
- GregFD3S, on 10/22/2009, -2/+9Priorities FTW!
- PostalPenguin, on 10/22/2009, -0/+7More like 1. Whats on TV tonight 2. What am I going to eat tonight 3. Football
- lamiaconfitor, on 10/22/2009, -2/+9You both spelled it wrong, it is colledge...
- randyzaia, on 10/22/2009, -0/+7Tell your school to play better teams.
OMG I BEAT EVERY GIRLS COMMUNITY COLLEGE IN THE COUNTRY I SHOULD BE #1!!! - rqtaylor, on 10/22/2009, -3/+9As a Boise State graduate, I think the system could use some work. But there is not reason Obama or any other government entity should waste their time on this.
- eastwood24, on 10/21/2009, -3/+8"I think this is a good idea", as he drinks some more Kool-Aid. "Yup. a good idea."
- BigVi, on 10/22/2009, -0/+5Screw your health, this is important.
- HurricaneDC, on 10/22/2009, -0/+4While he's at it, can Obama also make the government investigate why my school overprices its cafeteria food? And why that homeless guy on that one street corner keeps asking me for the "key to the pearly gates"? I mean christ these are the REAL issues, not the war or the economy or health care.
- boozedrinker, on 10/22/2009, -0/+4This would definitely justify that Nobel Prize...
- RawOysters, on 10/22/2009, -0/+4This is one of the main reasons why our congress has a 15% approval rating, the lowest in US history. All the monumental problems we are facing and they want to spend their time and our money investigating the ranking system in college football. How pathetic.
- sleeknerve, on 10/22/2009, -1/+5I agree that the government has no place in sports, but a lot of people fail to realize that NCAA football is pretty much a business. What the BCS does is keep revenue from college football within the BCS teams, and not the non BCS teams, like Boise State, Fresno Sate, Utah, etc no matter how hard they try, so with the playoff system they have now, it is almost like a monopoly on potential revenue. Teams like Texas, Florida, and Oklahoma are almost run like an NFL Franchise, generating tons of profit, and if the government should be concerned with any problem with the NCAA, it should be this, even if the playoff system is just wrong from a modern sports point of view.
- system5y, on 10/22/2009, -0/+4i always find it ironic when people misspell the word "college"
- Loonacy, on 10/22/2009, -0/+3You highly overestimate Hatch's constituents if you think they aren't concerned about this. It's on the radio all the time here in Utah.
- jgzman, on 10/22/2009, -2/+5To him, yes. To the President of the United States? I think not.
- Juice7, on 10/22/2009, -1/+4Yea, like finding out if Clemens did steroids!!
- gixxer600, on 10/22/2009, -0/+3Who the ***** gives a ***** about this, let alone the ***** president of the united states. This IS a ***** joke.
- naner, on 10/22/2009, -0/+3die.
- Xtortion08, on 10/22/2009, -2/+5It took a president to get college football to where it is today, sadly it may take another to fix it...
- tmonsta1, on 10/22/2009, -0/+3well the republicans already fixed baseball
/s - TheSwashbuckler, on 10/22/2009, -0/+3What a colossal waste of time...
- inactive, on 10/22/2009, -0/+3They must all be between the ages of 30 and 35. An age where the pay cut won't bother them, because of the great experience they'll have in their very short tenure due to a shortening of terms that should be imposed.
We'll let them know if it is ok to go to war, so no need for any older veterans.
NO MORE CAREER POLITICIANS! - FOR3MAN, on 10/22/2009, -0/+3I'm a Libertarian, and can proudly say I haven't voted for the last two disasters. My statement was somewhat in jest.
- zuiquan, on 10/22/2009, -2/+5Orrin Hatch is obviously some sort of ***** moron.
Just STFU and do what you've been elected to do, you *****. I'm pretty sure your constituents aren't up in arms about the BCS. Maybe they'd like a job that pays more than minimum wage instead. Or a job, period. - NCSD, on 10/22/2009, -1/+3NO! There needs to be a playoff system
- HurricaneDC, on 10/22/2009, -0/+2The joke's on you; I go to a private university.
- sgerwel1985, on 10/22/2009, -1/+3Can our government and elected officials please worry about important *****. But then again, i guess the BCS > Unemployment...
- Arcueid01, on 10/22/2009, -0/+2Wow this stupid son of a bitch needs to be out of office. I can't honestly believe that the way our country is going that some representative, a senator no less, would say something so incredibly stupid. DOJ investigation in football rankings. You have got to be kidding me.
- davidg11, on 10/22/2009, -1/+3Well it IS college football, not twirling ribbons on a mat.
- tmonsta1, on 10/22/2009, -1/+3because sports like baseball, and the MLB wanted and recieved a monopoly exemption from the government, so they would have no competition...
- ZooMigo, on 10/22/2009, -0/+2Because all the other, really important things are already settled...... oh yeah.
- DaviDTC, on 10/22/2009, -0/+2Every time I see a post by inactive it is deleted and his account "no longer exists". I've seen this about 5 times in the last week. Does he keep getting unbanned, is there a glitch he is using?
- opticwind, on 10/22/2009, -0/+2Do you ever notice, when people use the word misspell, how careful we are that we don't misspell it? Thank God for spellcheck.
- JuanBSU, on 10/22/2009, -4/+6whoosh
- BillyBlue96, on 10/22/2009, -0/+2We have real problems and this ignorant hump wants to focus on sports? There's another one to vote out in 2010.
