- MasterPlayer, on 11/27/2007, -4/+69Go Canadian Football making it to the frontpage!
- cambob76, on 11/27/2007, -1/+29Canadian Football League. Its like the NFL, but cool.
- lordmike, on 11/27/2007, -1/+26For all the CFL bashers... maybe you should realize that Canada brought football to the USA, not the other way around... Harvard wanted to play a rugby type of football, but every other college in the states wanted to play soccer, so McGill University came down and showed the Crimson what real football was... Harvard loved it... taught everyone else in what is now known as the Ivy League... and the rest is history... Canadian football still plays on the oversized field of the original game, and still incorporates the 3 downs to the line to gain that was the American rule until 1912.... Canadian football is the historical essence of football in North America.
- jeffwalso, on 11/27/2007, -4/+23Gotta love James Johnson with 3 interceptions! Green is the Colour!!!
- mapez, on 11/27/2007, -7/+23Rider Pride. Rider Pride!
- RyanBlack, on 11/27/2007, -1/+16American ignorance at its finest.
- inactive, on 11/27/2007, -1/+16Not only sports but a better economy. Health Care. Beer.
- RyanBlack, on 11/27/2007, -2/+16Man... out of 10000 sperm you were the FASTEST?!?!?
- paulzy, on 11/27/2007, -2/+16Digg has trolls?
- MacintoshSauce, on 11/27/2007, -1/+12The question is: Why can't EA Sports make a Canadian Football League game? That would be so bloody cool IMO.
- spitreaper, on 11/27/2007, -3/+12It would of been a better game if Kevin Glenn didn't get his arm broken. But that was a good played game by the backup. Good job Saskatchewan.
- steveo1219, on 11/27/2007, -1/+10In other news: John Madden realizes that Canada has a football league.
- GARussell, on 11/27/2007, -2/+11Congratulations to the Roughriders and the people of Saskatchewan! But I've got to give credit too to the Blue Bomber defense. They made it a game!
And James Johnson was not perfect. He dropped an interception, and he let his man score Winnipeg's first TD. - rsshilli, on 11/27/2007, -0/+9Apparently enough to digg your sorry ass down. Riders rule!
- polorix, on 11/27/2007, -5/+14w00t Rider Nation baby! Who was in Regina on Albert St after the game?! I know I was, our city was turned upside down! =D Go Riders!
- xiambax, on 11/27/2007, -1/+9***** YEAH! Saskatoon was nuts last night. everyone went outside and was cheering down the block. people were shooting off fireworks. the whole province was celebrating. it was awesome!
- tanameyer, on 11/27/2007, -0/+8Winnipeg fans the best in Canada?!?
You're kidding right? The Roughriders sell 4X as much merchandise as ANY team in the CFL. You can go to a Rider game in ant city in Canada and there is guaranteed to be a "Green section". Fans will travel to anywhere to support the Riders no matter what. Even when the Riders were losing for so many years, Rider Pride was always alive and well. Hell, Rider Pride is even alive in Ghana during Grey Cup:

- sweetdeals, on 11/27/2007, -0/+7Assuming your estimate is correct, it's still a lot of fans.
- Oneam, on 11/27/2007, -2/+9Big ups to John Chick too. He made Dinwiddie's day hell.
- emc86, on 11/27/2007, -1/+8Don't want to start an NFL vs. CFL thing because I do love the NFL. But there is something so much more pure about the CFL. Been around for nearly 100 years now.
- nicksauce, on 11/27/2007, -2/+9As a regina-boy born&raised, this is such a big deal, you have no idea. RIDER PRIDE
- mapez, on 11/27/2007, -0/+6You don't even know how to spell your teams name. It was Ottawa Rough Riders. Way to be sports fan :D
- realclark, on 11/27/2007, -0/+6BC Bud
- cambob76, on 11/27/2007, -3/+8I heard the horns honking and people screaming on Albert St. way into the night. It was kind of a ***** game, but glad the Riders won. My calculations predict they will win the Grey Cup again in 2020.
- spitreaper, on 11/27/2007, -0/+5no not at all..
- skeetshot, on 11/27/2007, -1/+5I'm from Sask, yesterday was like Christmas, my birthday and St. Patty's all wrapped into one insanely green day. ***** awesome.
- saskboy, on 11/27/2007, -1/+5Go Riders!
/=S=/ - mal1964, on 11/27/2007, -0/+4Saskatchewan and football is not first thought, Saskatchewan and huge walleye and northern pike (jack) if I had a choice to visit one last place before I die, no question its on a lake in Saskatchewan
- MikeonTV, on 11/27/2007, -3/+7It was a rough ride, but they did it
- mazatta, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3What was really crazy is hearing people cheering from their houses from blocks away in the residential areas!
- FarNorthMac, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3Where are those Renegades I've heard so much about???
- lordmike, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3It's the same reason why they won't make NCAA football for the PC or the Wii... 'cos they are idiots!
- inactive, on 11/27/2007, -0/+3It's several million. then again, the rest must be on crack, so that explains enough.
- smacksaw, on 11/27/2007, -6/+9Yeah I'm an Als fan, so it's hard to root for the Bombers, but I did feel for them since they have such awesome fans. I don't think there's a city in Canada that lives and dies with a team the way that Winterpeg does.
I am happy for the Riders, especially because I dig the idea of the community owning shares in the team and it sort of reflects the old "Tommy Douglas" mentality that has arisen from the Prairies that there's something about things being communal, even though I'm not much of a fan of his - the Riders (and Packers) are how it should be. And if Ralph Wilson still has any tricks left up his sleeve he'll leave the Bills to the city when he passes. - tanameyer, on 11/27/2007, -1/+4Rider Pride is alive everywhere! I think that everyone in my Facebook list has some Roughrider related profile pictures! I wish I could post them here. Rider Pride is alive in Italy, Ghana, Mexico, and everywhere else there are Rider fans. Probably the best pic is from my friend doing relief work in Ghana. She went to the Internet cafe with a watermelon on her head to watch the game! (Rider fans will know what I'm talking about).
- Guspaz, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2Because the market is tiny. We have 10% the population, and on top of that, Canadians aren't as in to football as Americans, so your actual sales would be less than 10%.
This is the same reason why CFL players are paid working salaries, and NFL players are paid millions. - bmilleker, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2A couple buddies and I drove down Dewdney to Albert. It was nuts. I have never seen anything like that in Saskatchewan before. You could feel the rider pride!
- TheMikey, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2I can't Digg you up enough for that Xiambax. Were you anywhere near 8th Street?
And how about Mackowsky? Saskatoon boy born and raised.
The courses of Rider Pride were amazing. - Salomas, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2Saskatoon, not Saskatchewan.
- bejayel, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2i was driving down 8th. took like an hour to get to the other end. Absolutely packed.
- jmpeagle, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2that's because they didn't get to compete over the same talent....if Canadians could also draft out players from American colleges it would be more even much like in the NBA, MLB, and NHL
- jdhammer, on 11/27/2007, -3/+5What a game that was. I thought Dinwiddie might get it done.......but yeah John Chick was fantastic. I couldn't believe how he blew through the line time and time again......
- thebillgonadz, on 11/27/2007, -1/+3I'm still bitter that the Bombers knocked out the Argos and ruined their chance at playing for the Cup in Toronto, therefore I'm happy the Roughriders won. Plus my girlfriend used to live in Saskatoon, although she couldn't care less.
Congrats to the Roughriders and the people of Saskatchewan. - FarNorthMac, on 11/27/2007, -0/+2*****? Well good sir, I must ask myself what area of this earth produces ignorant people such as yourself. Some of the greatest sports figures in history have come from Saskatchewan. Along with our sports, our rolling hills and deep valleys produce some of the most amazing wildlife in North America.
- RyanBlack, on 11/27/2007, -2/+4Awesome game, well deserved :D
- jon30041, on 11/27/2007, -1/+3Yeah, woo, go team!
I think I may have found my Canadian Football team to root for. MAYBE. Probably not, though. Congratulations anyways! - tanameyer, on 11/27/2007, -1/+3Football is the game!
- colint223, on 11/27/2007, -1/+3Green is the color.....! Woo go riders! :D
- FarNorthMac, on 11/27/2007, -0/+1I was on 8th and got pulled over by a ghost minivan the Police were using and got all my fireworks taken...
