- anTii, on 12/31/2008, -0/+12Romeo should be rehired as the browns mascot
- rdhogan7713, on 12/31/2008, -0/+5Bad Idea. Crennel must be worried his days as a coordinator are over.
- jotate, on 12/31/2008, -0/+5Good for Romeo. He's a stand up guy. Just not the head coach Cleveland needs.
I'm not sure what head coach it is that will manage to bring the Browns some winning seasons, but I hope we find it. Been a Browns fan since I started watching football. I was crushed when they took the team off to Baltimore and elated when they brought them back. Some of the most dedicated fans in the league for one of the worst teams every single year.
Someday, before I die, the Browns will make it to the Super Bowl again. I don't even care if we win. I just want to go and see it happen. - BrettSchu, on 01/01/2009, -0/+4Again? The Browns have never even been to the Super Bowl...
- ladyredspider, on 01/01/2009, -0/+4Shame on you!!!!!!!
- newrepublican, on 12/30/2008, -1/+5I like Romeo. The Jets need a defensive-minded coach with a little bit more experience than Mangini. I think Mangini's experience may have been his undoing at the end of this year. He apparently "lost" his team.
- ThugThrasher, on 01/01/2009, -0/+3Romeo is one of the worst game managers I have ever seen. He just can't do it.
- ThunderKitty, on 12/30/2008, -2/+5We can only hope...
- y2j00o, on 12/30/2008, -4/+7I vote we just move the cleveland browns to baltimore again
- GarmaZed, on 01/01/2009, -0/+2Yeah, Romeo is a man of quality and integrity. He did coach a Browns team that had 10 wins, and nearly made it to the playoffs last year. I do wish that he does stick around as an aid to the team, if he doesn't take any coaching positions elsewhere.
I'm with you to the day I die for the Browns, through good and bad. - smacksaw, on 01/01/2009, -0/+2I have to wonder if Cowher would accept a GM above him. Bowlen is not going to repeat the Shanahan situation. I know he's said "no" to the Browns, but if he had Romeo and Eric along with Scott as GM, that might be something to look into. We know that Cowher isn't going to be able to poach his old staff from Pittsburgh. And many of his old assistants have great situations that they wouldn't want to leave, even if they could contractually (Gilbride comes to mind).
So if not, why not Marty? Romeo isn't dumb. He knows he isn't a head coach right now. And if Eric has any sense, he knows it as well. Cleveland has so much potential, especially their O-line. It's not a bad situation.
I just wonder if a lot of these guys might not just skip directly to Denver, especially Pioli. I have to wonder if Shanahan would take the Browns job if he could inherit Romeo as a bonus. I'd rather have the Browns job than the Jets job. - fauxbro, on 01/01/2009, -0/+2I like the thumbnail pic of Mike Tomlin(steelers head coach). Apparently all black people look alike
- jba68, on 01/01/2009, -0/+2Hey, how bout you hire wade off our hands
/bitter cowboy fan - AnonBuffalo, on 01/01/2009, -0/+2I hope not. Romeo was a disaster as a coach and I don't want him anywhere near the browns.
- FarFromSob3r, on 01/01/2009, -1/+2As a Browns fan, I was happy to see him relinquished of his job as Head coach, and I DO think he would be a good defensive coordinator. He hasn't the ability to discipline the team nor make good calls on offense. If he stayed as DC I would be pleased.
- bblande, on 01/01/2009, -1/+2Technically, they have many times...it was just called the "NFL Championship Game" at the time. And, they've won four. "Super Bowl" is just a name they stuck on the championship game for marketing purposes, and to that effect it has served the NFL well.
Super Bowl=NFL Championship.
