- devinmurphy, on 06/01/2009, -0/+16You are my favorite Lyle, Lyle.
- GarageMann, on 06/01/2009, -0/+15-Lyle
- Nudar, on 05/31/2009, -1/+11It looks like the Rams are headed back to Los Angeles.
- serobill, on 05/31/2009, -1/+11I'll buy them for $929
- AmericanGunner, on 05/31/2009, -0/+8Dodge really needs to buy this franchise.
- noahgelman, on 05/31/2009, -0/+7*sigh*
I'm a Rams fan..... - Psara, on 06/01/2009, -0/+6Eh, St. Louis is a baseball town anyway.
- OasisR123, on 05/31/2009, -0/+5It's a shame for the fans.
In another take, seems pretty obvious to move the team back to LA, where the league wants/needs to have presence. - Gorgonzola44, on 05/31/2009, -0/+5$930...and one penny.
- kukurio, on 06/01/2009, -0/+4LOL, I lived in Missouri for 22 years and never met a Chiefs fan who lived west of Springfield.
- KibblesnBitts, on 05/31/2009, -1/+5$930
- p51d007, on 05/31/2009, -0/+4Oh boy! Just think of all the taxpayer money they spent on that fancy stadium, that, if they move will be sitting EMPTY.
- AmishRefugee, on 06/01/2009, -0/+3The biggest reasons are that the owner died and the stadium is not up to par with the Rams' contract (it says something like the stadium has to be top 10 in the league or some nonsense)
But them sucking certainly doesn't help - bonk2k, on 06/01/2009, -0/+2I can vouch for kukurio. I never even met a Chiefs fan until I moved Springfield.
- LADIESCREVICE, on 05/31/2009, -3/+5The whole of Missouri is mostly Chief fans anyways.
- inactive, on 05/31/2009, -0/+2$1, Bob.
- Chakat, on 06/01/2009, -0/+2Which is exactly why the state shouldn't be financing these boondoggle pleasure-domes to begin with. Let the billionaires play with their own money.
- Bartboy919, on 05/31/2009, -0/+2It would be a hell of a lot better than the LA Lions.
- Xider, on 06/01/2009, -1/+3Seriously. No state needs 4 teams. Honestly, I've always been curious about a Nebraska Pro team since they are so into College Football there.
- beabis, on 06/01/2009, -0/+2This is great stuff Lyle. Don't change your profile too often or people will get suspicious. I swear you had a slightly different last name yesterday.
- chicagojack, on 05/31/2009, -1/+3why....cause they suck?
- jamin, on 06/01/2009, -0/+2Kukurio is right...Chief's fans are in the west side of the state
- p51d007, on 05/31/2009, -0/+2Not so much "need" their presence, but, as with the NY Yankees, you have a HUGE fan base to draw from. If the rams are in LA, they pull from below San Fran, to San Diego, in St Louis, they pull from pretty much St Louis, considering most of Illinois are fans of the Bears, Kentucky probably goes for the Titans, not to mention the population of St. Louis metro is what? 1/4 of LA?
- timmyrulz27, on 06/01/2009, -0/+2Not even 5 years after the ole gal passed away and they go downhill and they are ready to bail at the first sign of the ole 90's rams. gotta love the kids

- marcb83, on 06/01/2009, -0/+1I hope Steve Young, Brent Jones, and their group of investors buy this team, and they pull them from Saint Louis, as long as they don't take them to LA.
- krolm, on 05/31/2009, -0/+1let's pool a bunch of people together and buy it!
I've always thought this was pretty cool.

http://www.myfootballclub.co.uk/ - yohz, on 06/01/2009, -1/+2I used to watch football, but watching a team that was falling apart from the front office to the coaching staff ruined it. It was a good run, but so long Rams. You lost me as a fan long ago.
- GarageMann, on 06/01/2009, -0/+1I live in St. Louis and have been to almost every game since they were the greatest show on turf. It's a shame to say, but now they suck, still though, they are a big part to St. Louis. This is the first year I didn't buy season tickets...
- kukurio, on 06/01/2009, -0/+1You'd think it would matter a lot, but it really doesn't seem to be the case. For example, in baseball, the Cardinals have always fallen between 3rd and 5th in terms of attendance rates, despite the fact that half the teams that consistently underperform hail from cities significantly larger than St. Louis: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/attendance?sort=home ...
Being from St. Louis, I have a few explanations as to why the Cardinals are so financially successful. First of all, it certainly doesn't hurt that the Cardinals are so successful in winning the game (second in terms of Series wins, behind the Yankees). People often attribute the Cubs' losing to a "curse," but a big factor is that the Cards suck up a large fraction of the division wins. Secondly, there's not a whole lot to do in St. Louis, so baseball has become that more important. Lastly, and perhaps most relevantly, fan interest comes at the exclusion of other sports. There is no NBA team, the Blues have never won a Stanley Cup, and the Rams have only been around for 15 years.
So yes, city size isn't everything. However, it's hard for the locals to maintain interest in a franchise (such as the Rams) that hasn't been around that long and has done spectacularly poorly as of late. - Barackalypse, on 06/01/2009, -0/+1If all 2.8 million people in the St. Louis metro area kicked in $332, they could pay market value for the team.
- JBHasty, on 06/01/2009, -0/+1wow
- TeamBaldwin, on 06/02/2009, -0/+1I live in downtown STL... never seen a Chiefs fan...
- krolm, on 05/31/2009, -0/+1dugg for the likely outcome!
- aceakm, on 06/01/2009, -0/+1I could read these all day haha.
- TeamBaldwin, on 06/02/2009, -0/+1I second kukurio... its tough competing with baseball in Stl
- saigumi, on 06/01/2009, -0/+1Haha... Chief's. It took me a minute to finally realize they are in KC. I forgot they even still existed.
I haven't heard anyone mention them in years here in STL. - bonk2k, on 06/01/2009, -0/+1We like our college football enough here that we might just survive.
- beabis, on 06/01/2009, -0/+1Lyle we hardly knew ye.
- Phazoni, on 06/01/2009, -0/+1Dugg for the irony.
- NCSD, on 06/03/2009, -0/+1Bring them back to LA so San Diego can prove who's better. LA SUCKS!
- saigumi, on 06/01/2009, -0/+1That was the reason we lost the football Cardinals in the first place. Enough taxpayers told them to GTFO when he begged for money for a new stadium.
- Red1000, on 06/03/2009, -0/+1(I think you mean east) I've lived in Missouri 28 years have had the same experience. I grew up in St Louis and I never met a live Chiefs fan until I moved west to Kirksville at 20.
- saigumi, on 06/01/2009, -0/+1Isn't that the same amount as 1 ticket to a game?
- TeamBaldwin, on 06/02/2009, -0/+1A LOT
- lincolnparkx, on 06/02/2009, -0/+1wonder how much the cards are worth.
- psybermonkey, on 06/01/2009, -1/+1I can't help but have a very hard time believing that one. In either case, I look forward to reading more of your comments.
