Plea Deal Could Allow Vick to Strut to Training Camp Next Summer
sackvick.net — Michael Vick got his money's worth out of his lawyers. The Plea agreement can allow him to hit the NFL training camp next year and even continue on with his NFL contract with only a temporary suspension while he goes to jail. This is a travesty of justice, a sham, it puts the NFL in the same league as Professional Wrestling or even the NBA!

- nreynolds, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Uhm... don't digg this story. The NFL hasn't ruled on Vick yet, he hasn't even been sentenced to jail yet. There's a fairly good chance he'll be in jail for 1.5+ years. And the NFL could ban him(and should) for even longer.

trying to cash in on the vick hate i see - NachoBusiness, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Save the hysteria for when anything concrete has actually been announced... sure this COULD happen, he also COULD get banned for life or appointed supreme court justice or any number of things. Going into a fit about how everything is corrupt just because something *could* happen is silly.
- brettbum, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It is exactly because the NFL has not ruled on Vick yet that you should Digg this story.
The NFL has been essentially sponsoring and forcing the Falcons to bankroll the defense of Michael Vick and his dog fighting/gambling cohorts.
The NFL should have suspended him right away, instead they allowed Vick to lie to their faces, to the fans and to the public.
Now, Vick has essentially negotiated a back door escape from his illegal and brutal escapades.
His plea agreement is for lesser charges that will not be as important to the NFL and will allow him to say in public that he admitted to killing or harming a single dog. He's basically hacking the system, and pulling a fast one on all NFL fans. So far the NFL commissioner has gone along for the ride, even though it seems as if the Falcons wanted to run from this mess a long time ago.
Vick conned the local prosecutor originally, and now seems to have out negotiated the Feds too. The only way for a travesty of justice to be avoided is if the Federal Judge steps in and throws out this bogus plea deal. That's why this story needs attention.
By next week, the deal could be locked into place and it will be too late. Vick is not going to spend more than a year in jail under this agreement and its more likely that he will get off serving less than 6 months.
This thing needs to be aired out in court so that the facts can be exposed. If the facts confirm that Vick is a brutal torturing dog killer that gambled on blood and guts, then let it state that in the record. Don't let the lawyers white wash this thing and pretend it was no big deal.
Its that type of attitude that has allowed the Bush administration to throw out the constitution, go to war on similar lies and half truths, and end up killing thousands of people all over the world (and torturing thousands on top of that).
If you ignore this type of thing, it only grows. Stand up and fight for a better world or prepare to live in a world with no freedom or safety where your only outlet for your complaints is a digg forum. - brettbum, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1regarding the comment

The site cost $7 to register, $60 to host, and about 40 hours worth of time to build.
It has adsense setup, which has brought in less than $5.
The adsense is only there on the off chance that bandwidth becomes a problem, which it has not been and probably will not be. (its basically an insurance policy)
If the site earnings ever come out of the red, I'll donate the proceeds to the Humane Society, Hurricane Katrina Victims, or other Iraq war Veterans, or all of the above.
I doubt, its going to come out of the red,and that's really not what the site is about. Believe that if you will, I don't care. But don't let this jerk get away with the his crimes.
