- inactive, on 12/28/2008, -4/+42Not to take anything away from Tom Brady but I think Manning is the best of this generation.
- mizatt, on 12/30/2008, -0/+13I look at Tom Brady more as the Joe Montana of this generation and Peyton Manning more as the Dan Marino (plus a championship). Both great quarterbacks.
- yojiffyskippy, on 12/30/2008, -2/+15Great job Peyton/Colts.
- freethrowtommy, on 12/30/2008, -0/+12I like the part where he is better than Brady...
- darlingt, on 12/30/2008, -1/+11Not to take anything away from any of these guys, but I think Orlovsky is the best of this generation.
He's pulled off an unprecedented feat, and it's likely that no one will ever do it again. - rockytop9808, on 12/30/2008, -0/+9I'm just glad I've been able to watch arguably the two best quarterbacks (Manning and Brady) of all time play at the same time.
- flyingclutchman, on 12/30/2008, -2/+10Patriots have been more of a complete team then the Colts have
- indiegirl7, on 12/30/2008, -0/+8I am a Colts fan for many years. This season started off pretty rough, but I'm glad Manning and the team were able to pull together and end on another great season heading into playoffs.
Anyone else find it a little ridiculous that 11-5 Patriots are not going to playoffs while 8-8 Chargers are? - Clad, on 12/30/2008, -1/+9Who's left more pregnant girlfriends?
Tom Brady is obviously the real winner here. - whatthefu, on 12/30/2008, -0/+5Orlovsky's running out of the endzone was a feat of sheer awesomeness. Not even Manning could pull that off.
- mal5305, on 12/30/2008, -0/+5man crush? so that makes who the bitch?
- dstrizzle69, on 12/30/2008, -0/+5Good for Peyton! His season started off a little rough but ended with greatness.
- tgmxd, on 12/30/2008, -0/+4Not to take anything away from any of these guys, but I think Sexy Rexy is the best of this generation.
He goes deep. - jsffive, on 12/30/2008, -0/+4Awesome record. Of course, being a Redskins fan, I can't stand the idea of having to see his little brother twice a year, but hey, way to go, Peyton.
- elitedw, on 12/30/2008, -0/+4Records going all around. for the best and the worst.
- griffeycom, on 12/30/2008, -0/+4Peyton Manning freaking rocks! Go Colts!
- icabodane, on 12/30/2008, -2/+6Consider the fact the Trent Dilfer has a superbowl ring and Dan Marino doesn't. Defenses win championships. You can't judge a QB by simply counting his SB rings.
- quomen, on 12/30/2008, -1/+5Peyton has carried his team further than Brett Favre. While Favre is the toughest, I believe that Peyton will eventually overshadow Brett's accomplishments (if he manages to play as many games).
- kilroyy, on 12/30/2008, -1/+5Been a fan ever since he scored 24 points in the last 5 minutes to win the 2003 colts vs. bucs MNF game. The man can throw a damn football.
- G21036, on 12/30/2008, -0/+3He deserves the MVP this year
- romeyinfc, on 12/30/2008, -0/+3Looking at Cassel this season you can't help but wonder if Brady would be as accomplished if he was drafted by another team.

Brett Favre, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are locks to make it.
I'd take Peyton over anybody on the list. When his career is over, he will own all of the passing records and at least 3 Super Bowl rings, the second of which he will be locking up in a month. - quomen, on 12/30/2008, -4/+7Of course he is. He's proved it time and time again. Nobody can run an offense like Peyton Manning. He singlehandedly is the brain of the offense of that team.
- dema, on 12/30/2008, -1/+4Who has more working knees?
- SecrtAgntMan, on 12/30/2008, -2/+4Huzzah!
- inactive, on 12/31/2008, -0/+2You can't assume he's a Lions fan. A lot of us who normally couldn't care less about what happens to the Lions were rooting for them to pull off the perfect season.
- Chirp08, on 12/30/2008, -0/+2The team was battered with injuries, being able to make the playoffs is an example of how good he really is. Brady would never be able to pull off the same, his collapse in the superbowl is a testament to how much Brady is merely a product of his team and not talent on the level of other great quarterbacks.
- shiddysmurf, on 12/31/2008, -0/+2Not entirely ridiculous considering the Pats are cheaters. Besides, Miami deserved that seed with 11-5. Especially after a 1-15 season. Seriously, hats off to the Dolphins.
- niradg, on 12/30/2008, -1/+3IMHO, the bigger achievement is Drew Brees- who is the 2nd quarterback to throw for 5,000 yds and was 16yds short of the record.
- orthodoxDrew, on 12/30/2008, -0/+2lol
- trapper2530, on 12/30/2008, -0/+2ever hear of the '85 bears? they are easily the best, they have the best Defense of all time with the walter payton also running the ball and course Da coach and the punky QB McMahon they were so good they said they made the superbowl shuffle after they lost to miami on monday night
- kilroyy, on 12/30/2008, -0/+2Screw The Sports Guy and his "Manning Face" *****. Peyton deserved his $100 million contract and probably deserves more.
- romeyinfc, on 12/30/2008, -1/+2I can only be anecdotal, but Manning has gotten his team to- and done more in - the playoffs than Favre has.. The Colts have been to the playoffs for pretty much every year in the 21st century. If Manning gets his team to one more Super Bowl he'll definitely surpass Favre in stature.
- inactive, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1Not to mention that he's an iron man... he hasn't missed one game in his entire 11 year career.
- azureskies88, on 12/30/2008, -1/+2Rings reflect the team. Stats reflect the player. Otherwise, we would be arguing who is better: Peyton or Eli. If you're still confused, here's a hint: it's not Eli.
- Clad, on 12/30/2008, -0/+1At this time, yes I suppose Brady is a better crutch quarterback.
On the other hand, I think Peyton Manning is a better clutch quarterback. - joelcass, on 12/30/2008, -4/+5Is that including the opposing defensive touchdowns, cause he's proficient at those too - cost his teams several playoffs
I'm not a pats fan but Brady is hands down above Farve - danchan22, on 12/30/2008, -3/+4Favre hurts his teams more than he helps them: 273 games, 310 interceptions
- rgranger, on 12/30/2008, -0/+1Also look at the Colts schedule.
They were playing some tough teams early in the season but easier teams towards the end.
Regardless the Colts have been playing MUCH better and if they were playing like how they are now, they would be 16-0. - yojiffyskippy, on 12/30/2008, -4/+5How many rings does it take to learn to use 'reply' correctly?
- inactive, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1I still think it's ridiculous that Brady made it to his first Super Bowl by way of "The Tuck Rule." I'll never get over that one.
- mizatt, on 12/30/2008, -1/+2Sure, but you could have wondered the same thing after Steve Young followed Joe Montana.
- blackbelt88, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1For people looking at the playoffs, Favre is 12-10 in the playoffs, Manning is 7-7. Both have won one super bowl, Favre has appeared in two to Manning's one. If you want to talk about consistently leading your team to the playoffs, the Packers made the playoffs under Favre in 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2007. During Favre's tenure in Green Bay, the Packers won more games than any other team in the NFL over the same time period. Brett Favre currently owns every major career passing record in the NFL. Yes, he throws a lot of interceptions, but it's that same style of play that got him all those touchdowns, yards, and victories.
- kilroyy, on 12/30/2008, -0/+1Seconded.
- rgranger, on 12/30/2008, -0/+1That's just how the cookie crumbles.
Sure it sucks, but I think its good for teams that wouldn't otherwise have a chance. - inactive, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1How many interceptions did he throw in those five seasons?
- shiddysmurf, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1Agreed. the tuck rule is *****. Also Tom Brady sucks.
- Chirp08, on 12/30/2008, -0/+1I disagree, it's one thing to set a passing record when that is all you ever do, its quite another to pull it off when your team also relies on the running game.
- rgranger, on 12/30/2008, -0/+1Colts running game? I haven't seen it this year. :(
Being a huge Colts fan, I hope that won't hinder them in the playoffs. - kilroyy, on 12/30/2008, -1/+1I cannot laugh at you. Your shame as a Lions fan must be enormous. If my 9ers were in that position I would never get out of bed in the morning.
You have my sympathies, sir. -
