- allaboutdatiki, on 01/31/2008, -1/+75There's something to be said for the dramatic changes brought on by vector illustration software ...
- ZephyrNinety, on 01/31/2008, -0/+521972 is the Mario logo.
- leetninja, on 01/31/2008, -1/+48the halftime show of SuperBowl XXX must have been interesting ...
- KatherineC, on 01/31/2008, -0/+41Wow. So much for creating a brand. 1998 looks like a drive in movie theater and 2001 looks like the presidential election. Excellent find.
- uruururr, on 01/31/2008, -2/+341995 is obviously the best.
- tendonut, on 01/31/2008, -0/+25Super Bowl XII's logo (1977) looks like a tampon package
- MCMookie, on 01/31/2008, -0/+24Hope you have the express written consent of the National Football League
- xxgigavirusxx, on 01/31/2008, -0/+23I didn't know that at one point they use MS Paint to make the Super Bowl logos
- kajoob, on 01/31/2008, -1/+20That's because it was at the Rose Bowl you *****. Go watch some soccer or something.
- wild, on 01/31/2008, -0/+13Theres also something to be admired in the logos created before there was vector editing software.
- TheBarker, on 01/31/2008, -1/+102006 is so web 2.0
- DreKor, on 01/31/2008, -0/+9yeah, except the game was played in February 2002.
- Shawn4168, on 01/31/2008, -0/+9If I didn't know any better, I would have guessed that Super Bowl XXII was a baseball championship, by the looks of their logo.
- DreKor, on 01/31/2008, -5/+142001: if it didn't have a flag, it was a terrorist.
- wild, on 01/31/2008, -0/+7How about Super Bowl XVI: The Search for Spock?
- INDOAZZ, on 01/31/2008, -4/+11XXX by far #1!
- CTK14A, on 01/31/2008, -1/+7Looks like the disco era even left its stain on the '77 Superbowl.
- kidal25, on 01/31/2008, -2/+8the 1999 one is a little misleading
- Clad, on 01/31/2008, -1/+7/wiretap
- redhotkurt, on 01/31/2008, -0/+6The date below each logo is the season date.
i.e. - the 2000 Super Bowl is a matchup of the NFC & AFC champs of the 1999 regular season. - prnorm, on 01/31/2008, -1/+7thanks, much better (bigger) images... and here's the direct link: http://www.sportslogos.net/team.php?id=593
- drummy41, on 01/31/2008, -1/+7This reminds me of when I had Pog Milkcaps of all the past Super Bowl logos.
RIP Pog - davewashere, on 01/31/2008, -0/+6Gotta love the unflushed toilet bowl color scheme for Super Bowl XV in 1980.
- Edwaldo, on 01/31/2008, -1/+6glad someone compiled these
- mcombe, on 01/31/2008, -0/+5The 2001 was changed after 9-11.. the original is here http://www.sportslogos.net/logo.php?id=hye8zxyxhn4 ...
- metapop, on 01/31/2008, -0/+5very nice. i love the first 13 or so excluding superbowl 12. i'd also love to see the same thing with olympic and world cup logos/posters.
- cowpen, on 01/31/2008, -0/+42005 - the year the general american public gained deeper knowledge of the roman numeral system.
- Goobernutz, on 01/31/2008, -1/+5I'm surprised this years logo isn't a glassy gradient-ed one with a drop-shadow.
- TokenWhiteGuy, on 02/01/2008, -1/+5What part of "Super Bowl" sounds like the world cup?
- conan359, on 01/31/2008, -0/+4In Alf form.
- inactive, on 01/31/2008, -1/+5My favorite is 2005. 2001 is good, but tilting it makes it more difficult to read.
- liljay2k, on 01/31/2008, -0/+41978 reminds me of Tecmo Bowl on the ol' NES
- otero1, on 01/31/2008, -1/+5http://www.sportslogos.net/ has ones that weren't used too.
- 1807, on 01/31/2008, -3/+7no....it really wasn't. I mean come on, it's the Super Bowl, HALF TIME show, The only one that was even remotly interesting was the Janet Jackson Tittie thing.
- jaroberts24, on 01/31/2008, -1/+51977 looks more like a logo for a knitting club.
Damn I just saw Tendonut already caught on to the gayness of '77 ... and it's a better metaphor then mine. - exomni, on 01/31/2008, -0/+4I like the ninja throwing-star in that one.
- superguysteve, on 01/31/2008, -0/+4"You know what, YOU suck!"
I can't believe I just quoted Adam Sandler. - Daniel591992, on 01/31/2008, -0/+3No, it's not the world cup...
- fellowknowbest, on 01/31/2008, -2/+5It seems that in 1980 they just went plain, and saved a big wad of cash ! maybe more money for the rings.
- shortyjacobs, on 01/31/2008, -2/+5Were you dropped on your head as a child?
- Light0, on 01/31/2008, -0/+3the last 3 or so look a lot more convincing. was that due to further editing? or just better costumes?
- AnthonyA7, on 01/31/2008, -0/+3Then why comment? I would never post that kind of comment on a digg page of World Cup logos, simply because I don't know enough about it to judge.
- zzzpoohzzz, on 01/31/2008, -2/+5no they didn't... read the title... "PAST super bowl logos"
- bizarrorollins, on 01/31/2008, -0/+3I used to have a poster similar to the following:
http://imagecache2.allposters.com/images/pic/ACT/6 ...
Its basically the same idea as this flickr set but also included the actual ticket prices. If my memory is correct, the first Super Bowl tickets were $10-- so about $60 due to inflation. Not a bad deal since tickets now start at $700. - exomni, on 01/31/2008, -1/+4POG LIVES ON.
- twishart, on 01/31/2008, -0/+3Holy *****, it is. Diggin' this one up.
- pixelate, on 01/31/2008, -0/+32003's my favorite. Part of the goals every time are cleverly incorporating both the Roman numeral and the host city's culture when appropriate... I thought 2003 was a really attractive logo that evoked a classical rocket/space program feel.
- FuZ3, on 01/31/2008, -0/+3Wow, that pic makes it look like "Super Bowl" is an EA sports game or something.
- inactive, on 01/31/2008, -1/+4What a great find. For some reason, I find logo design very interesting, especially the evolution of the same logo. I like to draw and paint, but Im a carpenter, I have no idea where my fascination with logo design comes from. Digg seems to like it too. I really like how the style started to become "modern" around '95, and you can definitely see the style represent their respective eras. I like the 2001 one. Dugg!
