- aeiou, on 06/22/2009, -1/+34Doesn't surprise me one bit. Packer fans are some of the most loyal fans in sports. They'll give up just about anything before that.
- hospitalcio, on 06/22/2009, -2/+27Every year I donate $5, via my Wisconsin state tax return, to fund the Packer stadium. I am proud to do it. Nowhere else does a community feel ownership of a professional sports team.
- TJ11240, on 06/22/2009, -1/+12Rodgers had a better year than Favre last season.
- Ultra200, on 06/22/2009, -0/+11Go Pack Go !!!!!!
- kplo, on 06/21/2009, -1/+11That wouldn't be profit, right?
- TJ11240, on 06/22/2009, -1/+10My dad and I are fellow stockholders, and you are completely correct.
- deathsquadx, on 06/22/2009, -1/+10Brett Favre played for the Jets last season...
- TJ11240, on 06/22/2009, -0/+8Such a fun town as well. I loved visiting so much.
- kevinsboy, on 06/22/2009, -1/+9Everyone in Wisconsin had to buy new quarterback jerseys
- TJ11240, on 06/22/2009, -0/+5Not even close to reality.
- Barackalypse, on 06/22/2009, -1/+4Or maybe he was implying those were narcotic sales profits =)
- Vulphaestion, on 06/22/2009, -1/+4I think he meant it's $19 million that they didn't spend in comparison to the year before.
- ChaosProfessor, on 06/22/2009, -0/+3I too am a Stockholder.. W00t
- ToddIU03, on 06/22/2009, -1/+3If you read the article, they cleared $20 mil in revenue and made a $4 mil profit.
- dallis33, on 06/23/2009, -0/+2I would agree that the Packers have an excellent owner situation. However, ticket prices are outrageous to take a family. The outstanding loyal fan base in Wisconsin is unbelievable. i belong to the worst team in history (Lions) and I still can't afford the ticket. I hope they don't earn any money until they put a product similar to the Packers on the field!
- TJ11240, on 06/22/2009, -0/+2Ted Thompson eventually spends all his cap money, every year.
- nicktomyskins, on 06/22/2009, -0/+2It was pretty much almost the opposite, the packers were shellin favre $20+ million to stay away at one point last year
- skybark, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1da da duh duh......
- jba68, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1I'm pretty sure I remember him blubbering on national tv....
- aeiou, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1The 4 million was revenue just for this past quarter, which was of course a down quarter because they aren't playing. 20 million profit was for all of last year.
- jba68, on 06/22/2009, -0/+1Shoot the immigrants??!!
- inactive, on 06/22/2009, -3/+4This isn't surprising as there is absolutely nothing to do except watch football in Wisconsin.
- jdubu37, on 06/22/2009, -3/+3They have 20 million in profit BECAUSE their GM is a CHEAP DUCHEBAG. they are 30 million under the cap and he wont sign any FA's, thats why they have a profit.
- Jeepinator, on 06/22/2009, -2/+2Considering that the economy was at its worst AFTER the NFL season, it makes sense that people had not yet adjusted to it. This upcoming season will be the real test.
- Barackalypse, on 06/22/2009, -6/+4Somehow I don't foresee Aaron Rogers jersey sales helping out very much. Maybe they can defrost Favre and put a different number on him so everyone has to buy another shirt of his?
- rushco1988, on 06/22/2009, -5/+2Brett Favre paid THEM so he could go to the Vikings.
- runninbroke, on 06/22/2009, -6/+2Now, if they could take some of that profit and buy some better players!
- inactive, on 06/22/2009, -6/+2Hehe, Packers.
- AmericanGunner, on 06/22/2009, -9/+3"The Green Bay Packers haven't been sacked by the recession despite..." Stopped reading right after the pun...
- inactive, on 06/22/2009, -7/+0and regardless has a long history of pain killer abuse, but the media doesn't report on it because they love him.
- Misinformant, on 06/22/2009, -18/+2That's pretty sad.
- asgardshill, on 06/21/2009, -27/+4Probably $19 million of that was Brett Favre's Vicodin bill alone.
