- carguy84, on 10/12/2007, -0/+103....2.....1..... and let all the rugby fans tell us how much more physical rugby is than football.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7more proof of
American Sports > pussie brit "sports" - Harri448, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7its the last one
- 1021, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6you need only to look at Sean Taylor from the NFL to get some good hits:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7487216479616325959&q=sean+taylor - osxman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN
- ForfeitTheGame, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Sean Taylor woo
- Maascamp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Rugby's physical, but the hits are never as big or bad simply because people aren't wearing pads so they can't (and won't) unleash like they do in football.
- fahadmp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3even with pads and helmets those guys get HURT..
we're not talking about scrawny guys, these guys 250-300+ pounds guys coming out you at full speed.. - streak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Too many penalties to count. We enjoy the clips and rarely if ever see the aftermath of chronic pain and debilitation.
Poor #16 (Joe Montana). I miss him on the field. Hits like these helped precipitate his retirement. - JamJosh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Damn, they had a pretty nasty "Head" tackle back in the day.
- h4rdcor3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3it's too bad that the lineman are the only ones that know how to tackle. everything else is just a big hit. a correct tackle you wrap up and drive through, not just hit them as hard as you can and hope they fall down.
- disturbed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This video's been around the web for years. The Sean Taylor video is sick though, so digg.
- benitojuarez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2same video better music
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNFFNzEIwcc&mode=related&search= - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You are right, but that doesn't make for good highlight films.
- mmgreenmms, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I know I dont like getting tackled by a prop. Those guys are huge.
On a side note, if they had a big rugby league in the US, I'm pretty sure we'd be pretty good in the rugby world cup. - ohhhL3ThaL, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1needs more compound fractures.
- frascellyboy273, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2maybe you don't understand the difference between a textbook tackle and the NFL nowdays
- emailingRob, on 10/12/2007, -1/+254 secs makes me wonder how on earth that guy didn't end up with a crushed spine.
This video will make me think twice before saying American Football is just like rugby but with padding. - RadiatedAnt, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3whats with the bling music?
- Shadar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Can anyone tell me at what time the Thiesman hit occurs? Not being a football junkie I only know of the hit, I've never seen it and couldn't pick it out of the bunch.
- Gondar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Tis a brutal game, thats for certain.
- Bokista, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm pretty sure we'd make great advances in science if we stopped using giant particle accelerators and instead just had Sean Taylor smash into quarks.
- makismagoo99, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That last one in slo mo makes my stomach churn...DAMN that's gotta hurt!
- ucbrave92, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Sean Taylor doesn't hold a candle to the hardest hitter and one of the BEST DBs in NFL history, Steve Atwater.
- ASoggyWaffle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i like the one at 1:06 best
- jpenn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ouch!
- po43292, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the facemasking ***** pisses me off
- vhold, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I suppose you could attempt to justify the big hits by saying that they continue to affect the hit player into further plays.
- h4rdcor3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1i realize that the nfl is no longer about playing football and is about making money. people like big hits. more big hits people see the happier they get. the happier they get the more money they spend.
That is why college football is so much better. It is less about the money and more about the game. although that is starting to slowly change - PeterGandalf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0A lot of the facemasks are from the older footage before facemasking was illegal.
- yanboss, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Rugby, for men
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2_V3AsKzQI - 1021, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Actually, it can and sometimes does lead to good highlights. Point in case: take a look at the second hit in this video by Sean Taylor, Safety. Does exactly what a good tackler is supposed to do but just goes through his man.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2924804282451252849&q=jacked+up - Pogue_Mahone, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4If anything, the pads make it worse. The solid plastic/fiberglass helmet is a weapon, as you can see from a bunch of those hits.
- kmbear, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Yes, too bad most of these "tackles" are illegal hits or unsportsmanlike conduct, or just plain dirty plays. Many of those were facemasks, spearing (hitting with your helmet), clotheslining, flipping people over in the air (making them land on their head which almost always results in some sort of spinal injury)...
- Zman771, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1"Title Says It All" = No Digg
- ohhhL3ThaL, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Also reminds me of the Simpsons when Homer was watching something like this and the guy's leg flails and breaks like 100 times. Man that was funny. I miss good Simpsons : C
- nohart, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1anyone know the link for TO's touchdown celebrations??
- eriismygoddess, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0Wtf are u talking about? Rugby is British. Football doesn't hold a candle to rugby, especially today's NFL. If u watch the vid, most, if not all of the clips are from the good old days of football; today's NFL is what I would call "pussie," the way they pamper QBs make me sick.
- h4rdcor3, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0damn duplicates
- burtonbe, on 10/12/2007, -12/+3"...the pads make it worse."
lol, you know you're completely full of *****, right? - Mindstormy, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1have you ever seen a front from rugby, those guys are ***** huge
- avktm, on 10/12/2007, -14/+3who is aaaz
