- UnglueD, on 04/28/2008, -0/+12Interesting that this happens the year the cut the time to make your pick
- Hardac, on 04/28/2008, -1/+12If you're going to blame anyone blame the Giants. This is a copycat league and they saw that DT and CB pressure can really hurt the OL and then get to the QB and win a Super Bowl. Most teams were out to strengthen their defense as a result.
- DeskFlyer, on 04/28/2008, -3/+11The Packers picked up two QBs to back up Aaron Rodgers.....guess that means we'll have 3 QBs on the bench when Brett decides to un-retire later this year. ;)
- inactive, on 04/28/2008, -0/+5Don't know why you've been dugg down, you're exactly right.
- NCg8r, on 04/28/2008, -0/+4You said a mouthful! The Baltimore papers are saying that the Ravens "convinced" the Jags to "give up" all those picks. The reality would be that the Jags stole their value IF you think the Value/Point system is written in stone. Mel Kiper says the Jags were stupid and should have given their #1 (plus others?!?) for Jason Taylor. That would have been worse than taking Matt Jones again...
I think it was a good move for both teams, and I love the pick for Jacksonville (being a Gator fan, that's fairly obvious). - ihavebeenseen, on 04/28/2008, -1/+5Buried as inaccurate
- mustache, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2Looks like Jack and Shack got a nice little former-employee discount.
- orangefly, on 04/28/2008, -2/+4everyone can laugh, but i think the browns may be decent this year....
- vanzan, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2Can't wait to see what Herm Edward's picks will do the Chiefs.
- talonstriker, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2***** them for picking 2 WRs in the 2nd round. What the hell do they need both of them for, unless Moss or Randle El is traded? Thats a sure way to make sure that one of the 2 WRs is a wasted pick.
And Davis, can't getting a backup TE wait until the 3rd or 4th round? They passed up on a couple of good DEs. The exacerbated that mistake by picking a small CB in the next round. Watch him get shredded because the d-line won't put any pressure on the QB.
/end rant - drafhk, on 04/28/2008, -4/+5Not to mention that, with the Jaguars/Ravens first round trade, the whole point-draft system has been rendered moot.
- NCg8r, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1Even if only 1 of them lives up to their potential, that player would have been a great bargain for what was given up. . .
- iamtodd, on 04/28/2008, -1/+2They're not running Gibbs offense anymore...MORE WRs and TEs this round with Zorn..more spread out. I don't see why they cant have 4 WR out there at once...Two potential 1st round guys in the 2nd round is a good deal.
- rdoger6424, on 04/29/2008, -0/+1Go back to canada.
- talonstriker, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1Oh c'mon, you're expecting Thomas, Kelly, Moss, Randle El, Cooley, and Davis out there all at once? Are we running Hawaii's offense here?....figures why they drafted Colt Brennan. I seriously doubt that all of them will have sufficient playing time. One of them (maybe 2) is definitely off the team after this season.
Also they should have drafted Erin Henderson in the 8th round...I can't beleive he went undrafted. - CoronaVegas, on 04/28/2008, -0/+1And that is not counting the Minnesota Vikings had the best trade before the draft, by procuring the best D-Line in the NFL w/ Jared Allen.
However, it seems by picking up John David Booty, they are trying to establish a L.A. market for when they try and move out of Minnesota when they do not get their new stadium. - akatherder, on 04/28/2008, -1/+1I was just watching the draft to see which WR the Lions got in the first round. What happened?
- dafragsta, on 04/28/2008, -1/+1I was wondering about that. So would they re-sign him or take him behind the fieldhouse a la the Onion article.
- dimplemonkey, on 04/28/2008, -1/+1So much for draft parity!
- dimplemonkey, on 04/28/2008, -2/+1everyone?...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! - pointsguy, on 04/28/2008, -1/+0Can't wait to see how Herm Edwards ruins the careers of those draft picks.
- fnv2001, on 04/28/2008, -3/+1
With the 10,00th 956th pick...the Rams select Ramon Marcus Odarius Randall Thomas - peppermd, on 04/28/2008, -7/+3I'm still in shock that the Jags were able to move up that high and didn't have to give up a second round pick. I find it laughable when people complain that the Jags gave up too much. Harvey and Groves are going to be beasts!
- inactive, on 04/28/2008, -9/+4Football? Oh ... you mean Rugby for girls?
- iamtodd, on 04/28/2008, -9/+3Goo Skins beat ''em Cowgirls!!!
- monarch00, on 04/28/2008, -9/+2I blame the Patriots. I think teams know that they have to make drastic changes is they want to stand a chace at being competitive.
