What a cop out. This ranking sucks. - DinosWillDie13, on 07/23/2008, -0/+8Adam Vinatieri had a long fall from the top last year.
- shzdeR, on 07/24/2008, -0/+4Only the best.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=8PBvOxicz-0 - alex626av, on 07/24/2008, -1/+4Vince young is pathetic imo he has a good arm and speed but no accuracy where it counts the most
- cusoman, on 07/23/2008, -1/+4False. He will tear his ACL :P
- DinosWillDie13, on 07/24/2008, -2/+5You're right. I vote Peyton.
Don't get me wrong, Brady is REALLY good but his numbers are padded with Moss causing blown cover every other play. Randy Moss is sick - swany1012, on 07/24/2008, -1/+436-2
- rdldr1, on 07/24/2008, -0/+3Whooo! Hester on that ho!
I hope Devin Hester keeps it up, he is well on his way to break the return touchdown record this season.
The record is 13 by Brian Mitchell, which took him 13 years to achieve. Hester has 11 return TDs, and he's only had 2 season under his belt. - cusoman, on 07/23/2008, -4/+6L.T. will be usurped by Adrian Peterson this year, count on it.
- inactive, on 07/23/2008, -1/+3and then ap will break his leg.
- alex626av, on 07/23/2008, -4/+6Adrian Peterson did have a good year but he is no where as good as L.T 2008-2009 Year of the Chargers
- adrenaline33, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2The Chargers have a fairly strong offensive line and the best blocking fullback in the NFL. They also have one of the best tight ends in the NFL. I would have to say LT's yards come easier than Peterson's.
- boardthis, on 07/23/2008, -0/+2he was a fantasy league superstar and injury concerns will plague him like bo jackson back in the '80s. the line makes AD. even chester taylor who started most of the games gained 5.4 yards per carry.
- 9bpm9, on 07/24/2008, -1/+3Will people ever recognize the fact that Shawn Merriman used steroids?
- mlvassallo, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2Dug for Walter Jones. He might not be the best for long, but he certainly is right now.
- Temo1, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2To be fair, I don't think Merriman, all around, is even in the top 5 as a LB. Not that he's isn't a force on the pass rush (perhaps the best at that in the league), but he can't cover the pass and is suspect in run defense.
- tombstoned, on 07/24/2008, -0/+22/3 of the world is covered by water, the other 1/3 is cover by Champ Bailey.
- SteelCurtain08, on 07/27/2008, -0/+2Don't worry, Scouts Inc, PFO, ESPN, and CBS all have him ranked #3, where he should be.
- Bokista, on 07/24/2008, -1/+2Assuming this whole "hold out" thing works well for him... http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=ArmuO3eco7Jr ...
- agunos, on 07/23/2008, -1/+2False: LT will always be a bigger problem for opposing defenses than AP due to his versatility
- Bokista, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Cool concept with a good round-up, but I'll be damned if I could figure out how the voting was supposed to work. I was so dumbfounded that I wondered if I turned into Emmitt Smith.
- cusoman, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1How can you say that with even an ounce of honesty? L.T. has been in the league a lot longer than AP. Give AP time to develop before you draw conclusions. Besides, running backs, even the best, only have so long of a shelf life and L.T. is approaching his end - AP is only at the beginning.
- legendoftravis, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1rta. he is in the vote for today's runningbacks.
- drifter, on 07/24/2008, -1/+2Tom Brady/Peyton Manning...as someone else stated WTF, they can't choose?
Maybe Brady since he has more Super Bowl rings...won in his first starting year and broke Mannings record last year? I mean seriously is it that hard to just choose a damn player. - Dopeness, on 07/23/2008, -1/+2Where's Peterson?
- legendoftravis, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1workhorse surprassed by an injury prone RB who shares carries, who doesnt have a passing game, and a weaker line?? And a harder division
vikes got the pack who shut down ap and even injured him, Chargers don't got any comp in their division. - matt.rubin, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Makes me Sick that San Diego is on here 3 times for the current best and we can't get to the super bowl.
- NorthMass, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1i know brady is better but vince young is my favorite quarterback well actually idk who's better there both the two best in my opinion.
- boardthis, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1u broke the internetz
- qnadad, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Marino? I'm sorry but as long as you don't have a ring, you don't deserve top 5 ANYTHING. This coming from a Kenny Anderson fan. Digg me down for that but there it is.
- Rethcir, on 07/25/2008, -0/+1That's a daft comment, when Brady managed to win with practically nobody around him 3 times.
- alex626av, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Chargers have a tendency of getting injuries at the wrong time. If we would have had Rivers,Lt, and gates at full health Pats would have gone down. This season is where the win it all mark my words
- Peko, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Maybe on the padding thing I agree but I overall would argue Brady has demonstrated more clutch; which might be more valuable than numbers.
- yacks, on 07/24/2008, -1/+229-9 *laugh*
- alex626av, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Because AP was very motivated in proving himself he is going to come back this season and have a lazy year and most likely get an injury mid season. LT has always had a very good work ethic just look at what he did at TCU
- heloh, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Al Harris is a top-5 CB now?
How long have I been in a coma? - shufan, on 07/24/2008, -1/+2Ben Roethlisberger not a choice? Yeah, I know there is an other, but come on, even Hasselbeck gets his own selection.
- akamurph, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1You obviously haven't heard of AP talk about his goals and don't know his work ethic.
- allothersnsused, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1***** THING SUCKS
- alex626av, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Chargers are a good team but there offense line isnt athat good. LT works hard for every yard he gets unlike past running backs which were just products of there all pro offensive line i.e Emmit Smith
- FlaG8r, on 07/23/2008, -3/+3Not having Rashean Mathis as an option at CB is a joke. I wouldn't vote for Mathis over Bailey, but he is top-5.
- sy70333, on 07/24/2008, -0/+0HMM
- vision777, on 07/24/2008, -0/+0Brady may have had Moss this year but in the past Manning has had better receivers. This year when he lost his primary receiver he didn't look quite so dominating.
- adrenaline33, on 07/24/2008, -1/+1You must not watch much football.
- YouandWhoseArmy, on 07/23/2008, -1/+1Brian Moorman?
- jimmyisprollyth, on 07/23/2008, -2/+2bo jackson
- cbgrizzle, on 07/24/2008, -0/+0How don't you include Aaron Kampman in the top five defensive ends?
- Chirp08, on 07/24/2008, -1/+1Brady is not that good, the PATRIOTS are good, as a whole. When his offensive line crumbled against the Giants in the superbowl he played like a scared as hell highschool player. He doesn't half have the awareness of someone like Peyton or McNabb, he is only successful because he stands behind a brick wall and throws players who have glue for hands.
- minnasouljah, on 07/24/2008, -0/+0Peterson?
- WhiZa, on 07/23/2008, -1/+1this is the ranking I would have expected to see last year.
