- Eallan, on 11/07/2007, -0/+26Does this mean less commercials? Or is this just going to be the same amount along with the added inconvenience of having to pay for the NFL network. So in general this is just terrible for customers?
- inactive, on 11/08/2007, -2/+28They're going to have the last game of the regular season for the Patriots, against NY Giants. Man, if the Patriots are 15-0 for that game, a lot of people are going to be heading to sports bars or wherever to catch the game.
- CyberSally, on 11/08/2007, -4/+22I can't even get the NFL Network right now. I hope they expand it and make it "free" like ESPN because it sucks not being able to see the games.
- boberto, on 11/08/2007, -1/+18I hope the Patriots go 15-0 just so people can tell the cable companies to go ***** themselves as they switch to a dish to catch the final game.
- zioxide, on 11/08/2007, -5/+21***** the NFL network. Put it on regular TV.
- usmevans7, on 11/08/2007, -0/+11The season is started... they're up to week 10 now.
- camaroz06, on 11/08/2007, -1/+12I hate to watch stuff on NFL Network, its not in HD it looks so bad. You would think the NFL Network would be broadcast in HD (if it is comcast doesnt carry the signal).
- undy242, on 11/07/2007, -2/+10Great! More games I can't watch! Thank you NFL, thank-you very much!
- finger11, on 11/08/2007, -0/+8No one has mentioned we'd get to hear more from the WORST play-by-play commentator on earth. Bryant Gumbel. This guy makes watching paint dry more fun than watching football with his boring ass commentary.
- scrimaxinc, on 11/08/2007, -3/+11I reeeeeaaalllly hope this doesn't happen. The way things are going I feel like I'm going to be paying $20 every sunday to watch my beloved GMen play against some European team in a preseason game in Dubai.
- Zach978, on 11/08/2007, -5/+13Scam by the NFL to overcharge for a cable channel actually....
- yunus, on 11/07/2007, -1/+8Im dropping Comcast on Novemeber 19th. The day after my DirecTv is being installed. Comcast is right, I am not canceling because of Jerry Jones. I am canceling because of the lack of HD channels compared to DirecTv and the bittorrent throttling and being charged more for cable/internet than I will be for satellite/phone/DSL from verizon. This is just icing on the cake because I will now get the NFL network. I'm letting them know they suck the only way they listen, their bottom line.
- dboy3587, on 11/08/2007, -2/+9its a scam by cable companies like charter so you can buy into the sports tier
- Foot56, on 11/07/2007, -0/+6It's all about money, they lost the real picture ( The Game )..More TV Spots, More AD's, Private Channels. Whats next players wear ad's on their Jersey? Being a football player even adding one game can make or break players as well as teams. Leave it alone it's working just fine.
- whojaybe, on 11/07/2007, -0/+6yeah, all i know is if they DO that, they better make the nfl network free for viewers!
- rupprupp29, on 11/07/2007, -2/+8I'm not too sure why he's getting dugg down for that. I mean hell, people gave the Cowboys a shot to beat the Pats.
- Neiby, on 11/08/2007, -0/+5I could see a couple of pre-season games, but no more than that. The teams might have to extend training camp by a couple of weeks but there's no reason to play so many games. What's even more outrageous is that they charge you just as much to attend a pre-season game as they would for a regular season game. How ridiculous is that?
- MaynardJK, on 11/09/2007, -2/+7What a bunch of whiners. Detroit ran in for a touchdown against Denver with 5 minutes left to go up by 44 points. The Pats beat the Skins by 45. There isn't any of this ***** being said about intentionally hurting players for the Lions. It is nothing more than envy of the frontrunner.
Also, complaining about sportsmanship by saying they should intentionally hurt someone is pretty ***** ironic.
/Not a Pats fan - oldhick, on 11/07/2007, -3/+8I agree with Cowers, if the Pats keep running the score up like they did against the Skins, send you safeties after Brady and hurt him. If you're up over 30 pts with a few minutes left to go and you're going for it on 4th down, look out! ***** the Pats!
- calamnet, on 11/08/2007, -1/+6No.......the cable companies want to move it to the sports tier to justify the obnoxious cost the NFL network wants normal customers to pay. It's the same crap with the Big Ten Network. They want to increase costs just to carry the channel. It'd be somewhat justifiable if there wasn't crap on the channel every day but an actual game day.
- Jwoey, on 11/07/2007, -0/+5Yea tear down the Berlin wall, too!
- TimmyGUNZ, on 11/08/2007, -3/+8As much as I hate the Cable companies, why should our rates go up because they want their ***** channel to be included in basic cable? As much as I love the NFL, I see more than enough football programming on CBS, Fox, ESPN & ESPN News.
- Araxen, on 11/07/2007, -0/+4There is an HD feed of the channel but the only thing in HD are the games. The studio show is in SD still. /boggle
- hybridcreation, on 11/07/2007, -5/+8I had to get the next higher package from Comcast after they moved it from basic service. It's only $5 more a month, but there is no other reason other than Comcast's money-grubbing dickheadedness that it isn't be a part of a basic package.
That being said..I absolutely love the NFL Network. I watch it far more than ESPN now because I really don't give a ***** about bowling, lacrosse, lawnmower racing or even baseball, for that matter...which ESPN feels that they have to cover because they are the "Worldwide Leader in Sports Nobody Gives 2 ***** About".
I'll gladly take Rich, Deion, Mooch, TD, Marshall and Rod over the cast of losers and nobodies ESPN is pushing these days. - scrimaxinc, on 11/08/2007, -7/+10The fact that you have the words "love" and "Deion Sanders" in the same sentence makes me want to smack you.
- Crosshare, on 11/08/2007, -1/+4Unstoppable? He couldn't take down a tackling dummy.
- calamnet, on 11/07/2007, -0/+3It would be $5 more for everybody if it wasn't on the sports tier. And personally, I don't feel like paying for a channel that is completely garbage except on Game Day.
- roberto_deneero, on 11/08/2007, -0/+3They need to broadcast ALL pre, regular, and post season games on NFL network on demand so we can pick which game we want to watch. No more blackouts. Not allowing me to watch a game that's not sold out is NOT going to make me go pay $75/ticket, $25 for parking, $10/beer, $8/hotdog, etc!!! It just pisses me off and makes me hate the TV network even more than I already do. It's time to let us watch the games we want to watch. How does this not make cents and sense? If you don't show the game, you lose us as advertising viewers. If we watch any game we want, you've got our full attention from 9am - 9pm every Sunday during the season. Run that by your advertisers. I'm pretty sure they wont mind.
- obliviousfool, on 11/07/2007, -1/+4FiOS TV has the NFL network in its regular package. This is one of the reasons I switched away from Comcast. Comcast wanted 5 bucks extra for a two channel package that including the NFL network. I realize most people can't get FiOS TV, but if you can, it's an excellent deal.
- tape, on 11/08/2007, -1/+4the thing is that the NFL is denying me access to these games by putting them on their ***** network I don't care about.
- augmental, on 11/08/2007, -5/+8The NFL Network is lame! It's bad for customers.
- Crosshare, on 11/07/2007, -0/+2I think he was referring to Sportscenter, not the NFL shows.
- azprofessional, on 11/07/2007, -5/+7Keep dreaming
- o0adam0o, on 11/08/2007, -0/+2Yeah. Then it would be like the NBA...i just watch pay attention to the last 10 games of season.
- NippleNutz, on 11/07/2007, -0/+2Live in Oakland do we?
- amnesiac096, on 11/08/2007, -3/+5The Packers will do it, hopefully in the Super Bowl, that would be awesome.
- hybridcreation, on 11/07/2007, -0/+2Of course not...who the hell would?
But Jay Harris, Robert Flores, Ryan Burr, Steve Bunin and Dari Nowkhah sure are. - Eallan, on 11/08/2007, -0/+2Seems like that would just be tacked on to reason to cancel Comcast.
Just throw it on the list with download throttling, absolutely horrible customer service, high prices, etc. - dirtyfrog, on 11/08/2007, -0/+2They are denying you access just like ESPN is denying access to games for people who only have an over the air TV signal. Which may not be many but it isn't the NFL's fault that the cable companies want to screw their customers. Switch to either dish solution and its in the $30 a month package. I also never lose signal so to me that isn't an excuse to not get a dish. I lived in central NY in a valley most of my life and rarely had the signal drop there unless it snowed like 20" and stuck to the dish.
- LiveWire530, on 11/07/2007, -0/+2I do agree how marketing is in your face everywhere now, but NFL network is actually wanting the service to be offered for free. Its the cable companies complaining the addition will result in overall basic cable increase, which would not be fair to non NFL viewers. Their solution is adding it to a premium package so only those people pay. All be it a ***** solution. Either way we the vieweres will get screwed. Its 3 options:
1. We never see NFL newtork on cable
2. It comes in as premium and we pay
3. It comes in as basic and the bastards raise basic cable fees - oldhick, on 11/09/2007, -1/+2***** sportsmanship. The Pats threw that away long ago. Fight fire with fire.
- jasnmb, on 11/07/2007, -2/+3"I'll gladly take Rich, Deion, Mooch, TD, Marshall and Rod over the cast of losers and nobodies ESPN is pushing these days."
I wouldn't exactly call Chris Berman, Bill Parcells, Emmitt Smith, Keyshawn Johnson, Steve Young, Mike Ditka, & Tom Jackson a cast of losers and nobodies. - dboy3587, on 11/07/2007, -5/+6Dont hate him because he was once unstoppable
- Chewie67, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1NO WAY!
NFL Network isn't even available here -- in the capital of New York State.
No more regular season games until everyone can get it. - NippleNutz, on 11/07/2007, -0/+1You may have more HD on direct TV but the HD on direct TV isnt nearly as good looking as comcast.
- hybridcreation, on 11/07/2007, -0/+1Exactly.
- yunus, on 11/07/2007, -0/+1I compared them at the store and have friends who have DTV and honestly on HD I cant tell the difference, to me they look the same. SD does look better from DTV though.
- Anth, on 11/08/2007, -1/+2Of course they want more games - they wont be happy until they have ALL the games and you have to pay $500/yr to watch any football.
- suedepop, on 11/07/2007, -1/+2Very misleading. The article says nothing about more games. It only mentions that the NFL Network wants to broadcast more which is a mistake. I have Comcast and have no plans to cancel just because the NFL has decided to charge the provider with insane fees for their channel.
Keep the games on "free" TV where they belong! - diezman, on 11/28/2007, -0/+0I'll listen to the game on the radio. I don't have the NFL network.
I'll listen to the games for now until satellite radio takes the NFL. -
