- mickaloha, on 03/07/2009, -1/+5So the football team screws up and the entire school is punished or is the entire school corrupt? The article mainly focused on the football team is why I ask.
- iNoles, on 03/07/2009, -0/+4Maybe, you should look at your own team instead worry about other team.
- DaigojiGai, on 03/06/2009, -2/+4Major violations? Oh, I so want a list of those major violations - academic fraud? SCANDAL!
- whoreable, on 03/07/2009, -1/+3Not surprised, Darnell Docket used to cheat off me in a class that was easy as *****. The guy was a moron, and he just played in the Super Bowl. The guy was so big that he could see my paper from two rows over.
- fsufanizzle, on 03/07/2009, -0/+21.) It's a huge rivalry game(not so much as of late, but still....)
2.) Florida State is still a big time opponent from a BCS conference
So.... - HeDiggMe, on 03/07/2009, -0/+1I almost buried this for being a repeat
- fsufanizzle, on 03/07/2009, -0/+1How adorable....
- fsufanizzle, on 03/07/2009, -1/+2Sucks for Bowden....
- FlaG8r, on 03/07/2009, -6/+7Bobby Bowden loses 14 wins and will never catch Joe Paterno - priceless
- jba68, on 03/07/2009, -0/+1I used to think he was a class act... now I dunno.
Reminds me of Jerry Reed in Water Boy... - offrdbandit, on 03/07/2009, -0/+1Programs are sanctioned individually. The scholarships lost are taken away from the maximum allowed athletic scholarships for each program (each sport has a specific number it cannot exceed, probation reduces that number).
It's not even about the football team screwing up - it's about the players screwing up. The coaches and staff don't even need to know what is going on for the program to be sanctioned by the NCAA. Schools can be sanctioned for boosters (who are not directly associated with or accountable to the school) doing inappropriate things with and/or for students. - theAzone, on 03/06/2009, -4/+4Florida State and major violations? Where have I heard this before?
- Barackalypse, on 03/07/2009, -2/+2Buried, we're talking about an online music and psychology course here. This could hardly be less trivial, but does provide ammunition for people opposed to online courses.
- G_money, on 03/07/2009, -4/+3ACC is a real cesspool. FSU and GT on probation for academic fraud. VT is a thug-factory producing the likes of the Vick brothers. Clemson and Miami both have long rap sheets.
- pennvneff, on 03/07/2009, -2/+1The article stated there were a total of 61 students at FSU that were involved with cheating from 10 different programs. Out of those 10 programs, the football team is really the only thing to talk about when FSU is discussed. People don't go there for academics, it's primarily a football factory whose best days unfortunately are behind them. The fact that some players had to cheat at that school makes me laugh, the fact some of them had to cheat during an online music class is absolutely hilarious.
The big issue with FSU now is the fact that the NCAA is telling them they'll have to vacate any of the games that had an ineligible player since this cheating began which takes them back to 2006. Why is that important? Because if those wins are vacated it's going to make it next to impossible for Bobby Bowden to get his precious record.
The penalties are not actually not that bad for widespread cheating amongst the student athletes. The football team had players suspended and they lost two scholarships to give out this year, three the next year, and one scholarship in the third. Considering that they can give out 85 scholarships a year, it's really a slap on the wrist. - Eldorian, on 03/07/2009, -3/+2They both suck. ***** off.
- jecsupastar, on 03/07/2009, -1/+0The NCAA is a repulsive cartel that steals the marginal revenue products of its workers in a form of neo-slavery. They should long ago have been destroyed at the hands of anti-monopoly law.
- sydouglas, on 03/07/2009, -3/+1Gators own both of your asses so shut the ***** up donnie!
- streetsofny, on 03/07/2009, -3/+0amen
- DirtyBinLV, on 03/07/2009, -5/+1It couldn't have happened to a scummier guy. It almost makes me think that there is justice in this world.
- e2superman, on 03/07/2009, -6/+1This is actually bad for the Gators as they play FSU late in the season. A ***** FSU means less of a bump from a win over FSU (assuming this will hurt their chances at being ranked as high the next several years -- remember when Miami had this happen?).
- factsahoy, on 03/07/2009, -7/+1Hey look, more ***** from ESPN.com. Who can't find ESPN.com? Raise your hand.
Now why are you posting this ***** on Digg?
Buried, as usual. - Jonathunder, on 03/06/2009, -10/+3FSU SUCKS!!! GO CANES!
