- inactive, on 12/29/2007, -3/+19Well, we only need 20 people willing to fork over $1306 each . . . .
Nah, the beer is just as tasty and far less expensive right here. - Joomal, on 12/29/2007, -2/+14how is $1200 per person crazy? If you want a front row seat in the Air Canada Center to watch the Toronto Maple Leafs, it's like $500/ticket and thats normal price! I couldn't imagine what box seats go for in the ACC.
- ice101a, on 12/29/2007, -2/+10You haven't been paying much attention to the market lately, have you?
- isiah1, on 01/03/2008, -19/+27Who would spend this kind of money to watch a cheating coach versus a bitch quarterback who pouted like a 6 year old girl on draft day?
- skyshock1, on 12/29/2007, -1/+9It was a 14 game season. They play 16 games now. A perfect season hasn't been accomplished since the addition of the two extra games.
- isiah1, on 01/03/2008, -2/+7OK dumbass, it is going to be played on CBS & NBC.
My God, Digg is full of dumbasses tonight! - Niallgriff, on 12/29/2007, -1/+6and the season was only 14 games then. Nobody is saying the Pats are tying to be the first undefeated team, they are however, trying to be the first 16-0 team.
- edicttree, on 12/29/2007, -1/+5This isn't honestly very much. I watched a Dolphins game recently in a skybox at Dolphin Stadium, and the owner of the skybox said he was offered 325k by a Chicago business to have the box for the super bowl last year. A year lease on those skyboxes is around 100k for 8 games, so 26k for a game (that is potentially historic) is only about twice as much than a skybox to see the historically bad Miami Dolphins.
I wouldn't do it, but some people have that kinda cash to throw around, so why not. :) - Rabbittt, on 12/29/2007, -3/+7GO GIANTS!!
- JasonCox, on 12/29/2007, -2/+5I cant be the only one who thinks of Family Guy every time I hear about the Pats...
- anti_hax0r, on 12/29/2007, -1/+4faggit? are you 12? probably.
- dsunshine1, on 12/29/2007, -0/+2a 24 person luxery box for the US Open (all sessions) costs 1 million
- jjhack, on 12/29/2007, -3/+5Only $26k. I would think they would fetch more than that.
- MikeMigs, on 12/29/2007, -1/+3and since free agency...
its much more difficult to keep teams together... Patriots will likely lose Asante next season =( - HimThatSpeaks, on 12/29/2007, -6/+8Not much compared to the $40,000 hot dogs and the $27,000 sodas.
- isiah1, on 01/03/2008, -5/+7WON the Superbowl dumbass
- Zlorp, on 12/29/2007, -2/+3when they did that though there were only 14 regular season games
- RhodesSkolar, on 12/29/2007, -0/+1Wow! Wouldn't it be wonderful if the money went to a charity instead?
- Rabbittt, on 06/11/2008, -0/+1SCORE!
- KaJuN4, on 12/29/2007, -1/+2I think the Dolphins record included the postseason. If the Patriots win they'll be the first team to go 16-0 during the regular season. But it's completely irrelevant since the Patriots already blew a game but the officials let them win it anyway. The 2007 New England Patriots regular season record: 16-0*
- MikeMigs, on 12/29/2007, -2/+3shaboopie!
- zenmasher, on 12/29/2007, -0/+1Um...you are not from NY. People regularly pay $3000 for rent here. Not poor people. No we only pay $1500 for a one bedroom. There are a LOT of rich people here.
- kuvopolis, on 12/29/2007, -0/+0The description says "perfect 16-0 season". The '72 Dolphins went 14-0.
- LLamaStar, on 12/29/2007, -3/+3yeah it's really not that expensive if you fill it up with friends who pay.
- Error601, on 12/29/2007, -1/+1That's a bit on the pricey side but not ridiculous for a schmoozing budget. Blowing 30 grand and come out with a multi-million dollar deal to grow your business is money well spent. Mass marketing would eat that up in minutes of a air time.
- Zlorp, on 12/29/2007, -4/+4when you split it 20 ways its not THAT unreasonable.
- whatthefu, on 12/29/2007, -4/+4Wouldn't it be funny if the Patriots lost?
- Daniel591992, on 12/29/2007, -1/+1Yeah. The hard part? Finding 20 people willing to pay.
- Goldbricker, on 12/29/2007, -1/+1That's ***** retarded. Imagine the kind of party you could throw for that kind of loot. Forget about going to the game.
- zenmasher, on 12/29/2007, -1/+1I am really surprised by these comments. Where are you all writing from? Average bonuses for wall street guys are $200k. And there are a lot of ***** average guys here (and girls). And there are a loooooooot of folks who are above average. People pay three times the per person amount in rent each month for not great buildings. I thought it was insane when I first moved to NY...now I am a bit numb to it all.
- lazyfisherman, on 12/29/2007, -2/+220 people, that's nothing for a corporate event..
- Jones82, on 12/29/2007, -3/+3I don't get it
- MoeWasHere, on 12/29/2007, -2/+2"...for the SuperBowl." Umm duhh - this is a meaningless game that neither team needs to win.
It's just that there is that much hype around this game that a normally empty stadium for a contest like this is fetching over $26k when it would have been empty anyway. - metaknite, on 12/29/2007, -10/+9Come on Little Eli. Channel the spirit of your brother.
- Jones82, on 12/29/2007, -2/+1Could you wet the towel?
- bigbuctuck, on 12/29/2007, -6/+5Fiesta Bowl 18 person luxary suite is $35,003 on stubhub.com that is crazy
- ZiggityZhang, on 12/29/2007, -3/+2A 20-person luxury suite is even up for grabs on StubHub. Got $26,114 sitting around? (That's $1,305.70 per person).
Talk about a sour suite deal.
ZING!! - frankie645, on 12/29/2007, -1/+0Agreed! $26K for a luxury suite is nothing for as big as they're making this game out to be. Thought it'd be a lot more. Sure, the Pats have a few chances to make history - so what?! THIS ISN'T THE SUPERBOWL, folks. Save your dough.
- Zacktopia, on 12/29/2007, -2/+1Is this a drinking thread? If so, a couple of you guys are not holding your beer very well.
- MoeWasHere, on 12/29/2007, -3/+2GO GIANTS!!!
(I can't believe i have Cowboy fans pulling me aside telling me they are rooting for the Gmen) - dakilla91, on 12/29/2007, -2/+1FFS
- bobdigi, on 12/29/2007, -2/+1"Nah, the beer is just as tasty and far less expensive right here."
Yea but, theres a bathroom RIGHT HERE in the same room. - dakilla91, on 12/29/2007, -4/+3Jeez man...cool it
- inactive, on 12/29/2007, -3/+1I'm pretty sure that the dolphins went 16-0 one year so this wouldn't be the first time for an nfl team
- Zlorp, on 12/29/2007, -3/+1they're broadcasting it on regular networks. but yes the NFL network is GARBAGE. i work for Suddenlink cable. we have 1.4 million customers and the NFL wants to charge us 100 million a year for their network. we would have to offer it as a premium station at a retarded price to be able to carry it at all.
- Gndoab, on 12/29/2007, -4/+2The description is inaccurate. The 1972 Miami Dolphins have also had an undefeated season.
- dolemite5005, on 12/29/2007, -8/+6I agree with you 100%. Unfortunately your comment with be dugg down into oblivion once all the Diggers from Boston see it.
- popothebright, on 12/29/2007, -4/+2Why is this news? The price seems reasonable: $1300 per person, or so. Dugg down for being blah.
- xkrwlng, on 12/29/2007, -4/+1financial darwinism at its best.
- Phigg, on 12/29/2007, -6/+1$500 Canadian for a Leafs ticket is like $5 American right?
