- grungegbunny, on 12/05/2008, -0/+37psst.. If you have weed on you. YOU DON'T SPEED.
- anarcurt, on 12/05/2008, -0/+36How does a millionaire not have insurance on his car?
- jon31rm, on 12/05/2008, -6/+41END PROHIBITION!!!
- Snoosy, on 12/05/2008, -4/+39But wait...According to anti-marijuana activists if he smokes pot shouldn't he be a lazy ***** who does nothing to contribute to society?
Clearly a pothead isn't supposed to have a good, well paying job. Right? - kayfouroh, on 12/05/2008, -0/+19I bet the marijuana made him drive without insurance!!
- richgustavson, on 12/05/2008, -2/+20Such *****. Yeah, just throw him in a substance abuse program. When are people going to realize that there's a difference between USE and ABUSE.
- fuckupedoslut, on 12/05/2008, -2/+15A stoner? Speeding? Musta been hightailin' it to the 7-11.
- lovemorgul, on 12/05/2008, -0/+10It is believed to be Ellis' first offense, which means he won't be suspended by the league, but will be enrolled in the league's substance abuse program.
- maximoo2, on 12/05/2008, -0/+9Sucks for him. Smoking pot is probably much better for an athlete to do that drinking. Especially if he uses a vaporizer, or eats it, or something.
- TeamWasabi, on 12/05/2008, -2/+11Why speed without insurance and a bag of weed? Hubris. Plain and simple. Combine that with the fact that 99% of NJ Troopers are pricks who are extremely allergic to hubris and its a recipe for disaster. Here's how this went down. Ellis sees the flashing lights and he pulls over while saying to himself "hey I'll just say I play for the Jets, sign an autograph and be on my way." Trooper adjusts his goofy hat comes over, shines his flashlight into Ellis's eyes and asks for license and registration. Ellis says "Hey man, I play for the Jets think we could let this one slide? Trooper "Oh yeah? That's great, Helluva game against the Pats. Now can I please see your license and registration please." Ellis "Why do you have to be a douche about this?" Trooper "Ok son, get out of the car." Ellis "Huh?" Trooper "Get out of the car, RIGHT NOW." Ellis "Goddammit don't you know who I am?" Trooper: "No and I don't care, hey is this a bag of pot?" Ellis "No its oregano and why are getting an erection?"
Obviously I have no idea if that's really went down but it made me laugh and it was a nice diversion from studying for these god-awful finals. - SpeedSteamBoat, on 12/05/2008, -0/+9He probably just didn't have his proof of insurance. In that case you just need to present it to the court, and it will be dismissed. Wish I could say the same for marijuana. :(
- fuckupedoslut, on 12/06/2008, -0/+6He was gonna get insurance...but then he got high.
- muchachoburacho, on 12/05/2008, -2/+8***** marijuana laws.
- Adamlite, on 12/05/2008, -0/+6I was gonna give you a sympathy digg, but you're a 38-year-old. Time to move out.
- inactive, on 12/05/2008, -0/+6Truth.
- Shaman760, on 12/05/2008, -1/+7Legalize it already. Nobody cares about weed anymore. It's not evil like the government wants you to believe.
- Chilehead, on 12/05/2008, -2/+81. pot
2. speeding
3. no insurance
I count 3. Not that I agree with all of them, but they're still laws.
I really don't think this kind of story warrants front page space on digg... nothing unusual about it. Many thousands of people get arrested for all of this stuff every day. - OneLess, on 12/05/2008, -2/+7Racist *****. Get off my digg.
- jeexbit, on 12/05/2008, -2/+7Legalize nature.
- MarkOfTheDead, on 12/05/2008, -0/+5Yeah only it didn't say anything about him being stoned, Just having marijuana in his possession.
- Yankees368, on 12/05/2008, -1/+6Rich people don't need insurance, right?
Oh, wait. - statrick, on 12/05/2008, -4/+9got to love victimless crime
land of the "free to do what they tell us" - mikexr, on 12/05/2008, -0/+5Lambast marijuana laws or poke fun at the NFL, their players and their mounting negative headlines?
What's a typical Digger to do? - Frankyfan3, on 12/05/2008, -1/+6Alcohol abuse = negatively affects your life because you drink too much.
Marijuana abuse = negatively affects your life because you smoke too much.
There is such a thing as marijuana use, without being abused... the laws are just a little behind reality....
ever wonder why cannabis sativa is illegal? It's nothing to do with health & safety, and everything to do with corrupt politicians & businessmen creating a monopoly for their own benefit:
http://digg.com/odd_stuff/Why_is_Marijuana_Illegal ... - jsffive, on 12/06/2008, -0/+5Ask Barack Obama when exactly a marijuana bust would have helped HIM...
For that matter, ask President Bush when would a coke bust have help him?
***** this government. The only reason I live within fifty miles of D.C., is because I want to be close enough to see the mushroom cloud. - Mattwdj, on 12/05/2008, -1/+5doood pilots fly drunk but u don't think they should be able to yolk the bong the night before??? I highly doubt smoking weed would affect any of the said positions and how do u know they dont already smoke weed. Furthermore, people arnt just going to become huge stoners becuase it is legal. If that was true why isnt everyone smoke a pack a day and raging alcoholics?
- kamakazitp, on 12/05/2008, -1/+5Speeding: wow, noone does this, -EVER-. A serious offense..... Tell us how fast and what the limit was. Chances are he was going 10-15 over on a highway. OH NO!!! Any cop any given day could go to a major highway and write speeding tickets all day long if he wanted to.
Failure to keep right? What? Isn't this for people who are driving SLOW in the FAST lane? Yet, somehow he got this AND speeding at the same time? Dude was driving fast in the fast lane. Makes sense to me.
Pretty dense for not having insurance, but he's too busy burning one down to bother with silly insurance. - inactive, on 12/05/2008, -1/+5Protip: If you're going to drive under the influence or with something illegal in your car, try and follow the traffic laws at least.
***** moron. - bumzab, on 12/05/2008, -1/+5If Mr. Marley gets the education of a lawyer and passes the bar, sure as ***** he can be my lawyer.
- TeamWasabi, on 12/05/2008, -1/+5Google "Drunk Pilots" I like the one where the pilot comes aboard with a lampshade on his head. Simply Priceless.
Google "Drunk Surgeon" lots of good stories. A drunk man performing open heart surgery is rather impressive actually.
Google "Drunk Lawyers" my fave is the video if the drunk attorney in Vegas.
These professions have a low tolerance for such behavior. You get caught performing brain surgery drunk, you'll lose your license and will be uninsurable.
Most professionals are driven individuals who are able to balance work and play and if that means not smoking pot before a flight, surgery or trial the vast majority of people can handle that.
Further, I think everyone can agree that the line is drawn at pot. It isn't a slippery slope at all. - Bub978, on 12/05/2008, -1/+5Stereotypes are there for a reason. The reason this particular stereotype exists is because of propaganda.
- LVsFINEST, on 12/05/2008, -1/+5Number 1: You sound like a cry baby. Number 2: Have you forgotten that alcohol exists, and is legal?
- 1longtime, on 12/05/2008, -1/+5Stupid, morgino. Racist and stupid.
- inactive, on 12/06/2008, -1/+4Is that STILL illegal?
- TeamWasabi, on 12/05/2008, -0/+3Think back to high school... do you remember any of the really good athletes being really intelligent? Now fast forward 5-10 years and them millions of dollars and a legion of faithful yes men. It's almost inevitable that this ***** is going to happen.
- chesterogilvie, on 12/05/2008, -0/+3Who does he think he is, Kevin Faulk?
- CommonSense2k8, on 12/05/2008, -0/+3When will people learn. Only break one law at a time!
This cardinal rule should be taught in schools. - CDollars, on 12/05/2008, -4/+6 He makes how many millions of dollars and he can't afford insurance? ... Really?
- inactive, on 12/05/2008, -2/+4Arresting all these people is getting rather pointless. Pot is stronger than ever, more people use it then ever, and its more easily found than ever. So why on earth do we continue to spend billions a year on "stopping" people from using it? Legalize and Regulate it already...
- harrisbradley, on 12/05/2008, -1/+3How does a millionaire not have a license for his gun?
- inactive, on 12/05/2008, -1/+3You mean their "how not to be a hood rat anymore" program.
- eviljolly, on 12/06/2008, -1/+3Pot has been legalized in 13 states. You don't think any of those medical marijuana patients are successful people?
Smoking pot has nothing to do with success. I personally know people making 6 figure salaries who toke up daily, and one of them is even a "brother."
I can see you've bought into the propaganda though morgino...
I'm not necessarily defending this guy. Speeding with weed and no insurance is pretty dumb, regardless of the color of your skin. - kamakazitp, on 12/05/2008, -1/+3until 70,000+ will pay $100 a piece to watch a teacher conduct a lecture, not likely. If no one went to the games, they wouldn't get paid so much. But the stadiums fill up, as do the player's wallets.
Granted, driving without insurance is pretty stupid, I'm fairly certain the reason he didn't have it was probably not related to his ability to make the payments. Just plain lazy or dumb. - credential101, on 12/05/2008, -1/+3A whole new meaning to 'Gang Green'
- GVR90, on 12/05/2008, -2/+3So, he really only broke two laws.
- statrick, on 12/06/2008, -0/+1http://in.youtube.com/watch?v=t3zou4F00Ic

- lostsymphonies1, on 12/05/2008, -4/+5Follow favre. packers are boring now, and the jets are exciting.
- AmericanGunner, on 12/05/2008, -0/+1Lrn2Dogfight
