- DanDotOrg, on 04/09/2008, -1/+51I think it is okay as long as Duane 'The Rock' Johnson is his coach.
- DeadSkinMask, on 04/09/2008, -4/+31**Insert "Wide Receiver" Joke Here**
- inactive, on 04/09/2008, -7/+27Who the ***** cares?
- DeFex, on 04/09/2008, -0/+19More importantly, is he having organized rat fights.
- cdigger21, on 04/09/2008, -0/+19"Apparently, there was a prison football team and he played quarterback for both sides," Blank told the Daily News.
All Time QB! - SickBoy, on 04/09/2008, -1/+18His milkshake brings all the boys in the yard...
- HeDiggMe, on 04/09/2008, -0/+15Playing in prison---does that mean he got traded to the Bengals?
- dannyboy3020, on 04/09/2008, -13/+27He is playing football in there?! This is unacceptable! He should be suffering...suffering for his crimes!
- akatherder, on 04/09/2008, -0/+13The Falcons wide receivers were always a joke anyways.
- akilleen, on 04/09/2008, -1/+14If I were in prison, I probably would play football as well. Who cares, really.
- CrackyJSquirrel, on 04/09/2008, -1/+12He was a tight end before he went to prison, now he is a wide reciever.. *ba dum dump crashhhhh*..
- crash331, on 04/09/2008, -1/+12Well, it DID say he was playing for both teams.
- anyone4apint, on 04/09/2008, -1/+11How long untill someone makes yet another Hollywood movie about a sports star that goes to jail and ends up helping other criminals better themselves through sport....
- jazzmann04, on 04/09/2008, -0/+9He's been permanently labeled as a dog killer, probably lost most all of his fan base, the respect of most of the NFL and it's still prison. I think he's suffering, and if he doesn't learn anything, next time you can beat the ***** outta him
- Renuvian, on 04/09/2008, -0/+8Is he playing checkers? chess? jenga?
Come on ESPN, stay on top of things. The world needs to know. - reaper527, on 04/09/2008, -0/+8he's on my prison league fantasy team. i'm just waiting for marcus vick to join the league.
- skoubydoo, on 04/09/2008, -1/+8Yes! He should be raped in prison like every other criminal ever. It's the only way for vengeance!
- oldhick, on 04/09/2008, -1/+8Uh... Prison ideally is both punishment and rehabilitation. If we prevent people from doing anything at all during their stay in prison, don't you think that might have negative mental out comes. I mean seriously, this guy never hurt another human being, he never stole anyones money, in fact he gave tons of it to charity. We sent the man to prison, he's being punished. Is it that bad that he gets to throw a football around?
- oldhick, on 04/09/2008, -1/+7I don't quite understand the folks who take the time to click on the Digg story, read it, then insist they don't care... Thats a lot of work for not caring. When I don't care, I typically don't click the story, don't read the story, and don't comment. Thats sort of the definition of not caring...
- Bigcat151, on 04/09/2008, -1/+6If by "organized football" you mean tossing salads then the answer is most likely yes.
- Atom, on 04/09/2008, -1/+6"Apparently, there was a prison football team and he played quarterback for both sides,"
Yah, I hear you always end up playing for the other team when youre sent to a federal pen. - Aleman360, on 04/09/2008, -1/+6http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0398165/
- dafragsta, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4"Mike Tyson is a rapist and continued his career successfully."
Failing to recapture your heavyweight title when you were undeniably one of the meanest, most vicious human beings to ever walk the earth, is not success. Tyson was designed by his environment to be a prize fighter and a sociopath. I feel bad for him in some ways, and no, he never did resume his career successfully. The movie Great White Hype is pretty much a parody of the kind of chump fights he had after prison. Before prison, he had endorsements and public appearances at award shoes. Afterwards, he had nothing. - lblitzer, on 04/09/2008, -1/+5"Dad, you're doing time"
"I'm doing the time... of my life!" - SpikeLee, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4Aside from the fact that he could be playing football outside of prison, I say he is getting his punishment.
- Chirp08, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4We need some ESPN stats too. "Micheal Vick has Highest QB rating for anyone doing less then 24 Months in a Federal Prison" "No other QB has thrown for 3 touchdowns on both teams during the same game since Mr. G, in his 15th year of a LIfe Sentence, in 1973"
- solid12345, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4***** I read in some Euro prisons they even get Playstations. Some prisoners are living better than free men outside.
- chanop, on 04/09/2008, -4/+8He's go the fries, that'll cross your eyes...
He's got shakes that'll make you quake
He's got the burgers......he...he just has burgers - crushtheenemy, on 04/09/2008, -5/+9NOBODY CARES
- Wormfather, on 04/09/2008, -2/+6Cruel and unusual punishment much? I'm all for putting a bullet in between someone eyes if they deserve it, but c'mon, rape is unacceptable as a punishment, in whole or part.
lol, "in whole" - dafragsta, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4pffft.. it needs to be Burt Reynolds... wearing an OU hat. ;)
- inactive, on 04/09/2008, -1/+5If I was in prison, I would want Mike Vick on my football team.
You know how at some prisons they have programs where they allow the inmates to take care of pets? Well, Mike Vick probably already has big plans for these animals. - oldhick, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4So then they do care, they just don't understand how to communicate effectively. Also, isn't what people care about subjective?
- jroll8481, on 04/09/2008, -0/+3Allen Iverson a Violent criminal? Being from Newport News aka Bad Newz, VA does not give you the right to pull stuff clean out of your ass. He got arrested for participating in a brawl at a bowling alley, he wasnt out performing armed robbery or anything, do you even understand the term 'violent crime'?
- akatherder, on 04/09/2008, -0/+3No QB is every truly a "run first, pass second" player but if anyone had the circumstances to be one, it is Vick.
Vick had a huge arm but only average accuracy. His pass blockers and wide receivers were never great. He has the speed and elusiveness to be an effective running QB. - baudbwoy, on 04/09/2008, -2/+5WHO gives a Flying Fruck?
- kirralin23, on 04/18/2008, -0/+3Blacklist him from football after he pays his debt to society? I must be missing something. I thought he committed a crime against animals not footballs. Wouldn't it make more sense never to allow him to own an animal? He should never be allowed to go to animal shows, rodeos. I don't think he'll set up a fight ring pitting footballs against each other.
- inactive, on 04/09/2008, -5/+823 months for dog fighting. Unbelievable... disgraceful...
- oldhick, on 04/09/2008, -0/+3Not sure, whats your point? Dogs die, get euthanized, hit by cars, etc... Or are you saying he should die because of dog fighting? If you clarify I can respond, but I'm sort of guessing. My point was that Vick was convicted and penalized pretty severely already.
- plhearn, on 04/09/2008, -1/+4Just don't drop the football in the shower.
- dafragsta, on 04/09/2008, -0/+3He still can't throw for over 60%, even in prison.
- daizy82683, on 04/09/2008, -0/+3lost respect? Are you kidding??? Mike Tyson is a rapist and continued his career successfully. Alan Iverson is a violent criminal(I live in the city he is from) and he is doing just fine.
- oldhick, on 04/09/2008, -1/+4That was really ridiculous.
- chrillen, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2I'm with you on the fight to the death part, that would be cool. The rest? Not so much.
- cli006, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2They originally said he's playing for the prison football team but that's not the case. He's just tossing the pigskin around during outdoor recess time.
I don't see what the problem is, he's already in prison. What more do you want?
If anything, I believe that sports help inmates become better people more than anything else. - DeadSkinMask, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2There are no tight ends in prison.
- Donwangugi, on 04/09/2008, -1/+3Not to mention that his best wide receiver was a freaking tight end. Not only was his arm not that accurate, (he was right handed but threw with his left hand), but he never had the people around him to help him become accurate. If he had the receivers of Mr. Brady or Mr. Manning, *shudder* it would not be pretty for an opposing defense.
- Vandango, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2Mean Machine! Mean Machine!
- solid12345, on 04/09/2008, -1/+3Well I agree fighting dogs is not the same as killing a person but just because the crime is of a lesser charge doesn't earn a prisoner luxury rights.
