- inactive, on 09/21/2008, -2/+25Rodgers has been impressive so far
- inactive, on 09/21/2008, -1/+17A little early to say that now, but very well could be the case.
- haydesigner, on 09/22/2008, -3/+14And we welcome another 8-year-old to Digg.
- KnightMareInc, on 09/22/2008, -4/+14somebody who cant a win playoff game?
- marvinvenis, on 09/22/2008, -0/+9To add to the comparison, both Romo and Rodgers were both mediocre Sunday night.
- stopbrorape, on 09/21/2008, -0/+9Agreed, he has faced two easy defenses though. We'll see how he does tonight.
- krekc, on 09/22/2008, -0/+7He looked great against the Lions, then again, everyone does.
- inactive, on 09/22/2008, -2/+9Tony Romo = Ray Finkle
- scottja35, on 09/22/2008, -2/+9Rodgers still needs to develop, so we should let that process run its course. The more important issue here is how dominant C-Wood was against TO.
- jun2san, on 09/22/2008, -0/+5I've been very impressed by him so far. He's very calm in the pocket and has a very accurate arm.
Edit: Damn, I must really like the word "very." - jmpeagle, on 09/22/2008, -5/+8except He got his ass handed to him by Romo and the Cowboys
- FreddieD, on 09/22/2008, -0/+3Rodgers looks like he has what it takes to succeed in the NFL mentally. If nothing else, look at how professionally he handled Favre's situation. He comes in as a 1st round draft pick and promptly holds the clip board for HOW many years? And even when Favre was pulling his ninth flip-flop, Rodgers didn't say a word (and you can bet the media was looking for SOMETHING that they could at least take out of context so they could report on some drama).
How many 1st round draft picks would you know that would have demanded a trade by that time? - mizatt, on 09/22/2008, -0/+3Welcome aboard haydesigner!
- inactive, on 09/22/2008, -0/+3All Rodgers needs now is someone on defense to stop the run, oh, and a receiver that understands NOT to throw a ball forward after catching it.
- inactive, on 09/22/2008, -0/+3C'mon, he's got 3 starts under his belt since Favre left. Get back to me in 16+ years then start making comparisons.
- inactive, on 09/22/2008, -0/+3Didn't look like it to me.
- inactive, on 09/22/2008, -2/+4Yea, just don't let him hold the ball for a field goal.
- AceAMasta, on 09/22/2008, -0/+2*looks at Romo's FF points from the game*
:( - dema, on 09/22/2008, -0/+2Ugh. One TD to Witten and I would've won in TWO leagues. Freakin Romo...
- perkoff, on 09/22/2008, -0/+2SNAP!
- FreddieD, on 09/22/2008, -0/+2Romo and Einhorn..... Einhorn and Romo....
Einhorn *is* Romo!!
*cue The Crying Game* - theragu40, on 09/22/2008, -0/+2By rights the cowboys *should* have beat the packers. Rodgers has played two games, and the Packers starting running back is still hampered by injury. Romo has two years experience under his belt. I'll take two-years-from-now Rodgers over current Romo any day.
- troyfoley, on 09/22/2008, -0/+2I thought Rodgers did what he could on Sunday night under constant pressure. It's easy to say now that I thought the Packers' offensive line was going to be suspect, but that's clearly the case. The defense played respectably for the most part, having been on the field way too long in the second half.
Also, if Brandon Jackson and/or Kregg Lumpkin doesn't start seeing some more playing time soon, something's wrong. Grant does not seem to be the fantasy HOF'er he was last year and is providing no spark at all. - haydesigner, on 09/22/2008, -0/+1In my own defense, I actually posted this in response to @socialexpert's post: "Get used to this. After 2011 and the Vikings move to L.A. you might as well become fans of the nearest NFL franchise. THE PACKERS!! Just like you were before 1960. GO PACK!!!"
My internet was wonky, I had to reload after hitting the 'reply' button, and I did not notice after posting that it went to a general reply instead of to socialexpert's post. Mea Culpa. So I understand why everyone is digging me down. - troyfoley, on 09/22/2008, -0/+1I sure hope so, but Jackson has been a tank, and far more effective the past two weeks. Until then, let him rumble for awhile and let Grant rest and not waste attempts.
- Lynx34, on 09/22/2008, -0/+1That's what happens when you have he has a nagging hamstring injury. Grant playing sore was about as effective as a healthy Jackson or Lumpkin... in a couple of weeks Grant will be ready to bust loose again.
- inactive, on 09/22/2008, -0/+1Favre didn't lose them all - just the vast majority of them.
- InJectaH, on 09/22/2008, -0/+1There's no saying how much Rodgers learned as Favres backup, So far i'm really impressed, In fact Rodgers impressed me when they played the Patriots last season when Favre got Hurt.
- stopbrorape, on 09/22/2008, -0/+1@magichobo
They have a great run defense but their pass defense is bad. - tylerwest70, on 09/22/2008, -3/+4You and I both know that Charles Woodson wouldn't have stood a chance in man against TO. You guys relied on a safety over the top to contain TO all night. The double team is what stopped TO from performing. Thanks for that double team though, it left everyone else open and kept that safety out of the box to stop the run ;)
- hoisonsauce, on 09/22/2008, -0/+1Oh look, how cute! You Texans know how to rhyme!
- perkoff, on 09/22/2008, -2/+3Good one.
- NeoCortex, on 09/22/2008, -0/+1The Laces Were Out!
- MagicHobo, on 09/22/2008, -1/+1The Vikings defense isn't that terrible.
- mizuhri, on 09/22/2008, -2/+2He has played 1.5 seasons.. He will win some playoff games.
- dagamer34, on 09/22/2008, -1/+1You mean the Houston Texan fans with their amazing team?
- jontalisman, on 09/22/2008, -4/+3I hope Rodgers is just like Favre in the way Brett lost all the big games to the Cowboys.
- mizuhri, on 09/22/2008, -2/+1Do you watch football anymore? He hasn't held the ball for field goals since 2006 season.
- socialexpert, on 09/22/2008, -7/+6Get used to this. After 2011 and the Vikings move to L.A. you might as well become fans of the nearest NFL franchise. THE PACKERS!! Just like you were before 1960. GO PACK!!!
- JGUSMC7, on 09/22/2008, -8/+2Despite whatever the nation thinks, not everyone in Texas likes Romo. And yes we even use the saying here that "Romo is a *****".
- haydesigner, on 09/22/2008, -9/+1And we welcome another 26-year-old to Digg (with the maturity of an 8-year-old).
- darthsand, on 09/21/2008, -17/+8Romo the *****!
- Snokage, on 09/21/2008, -14/+3Romo is terrible.
