- d3sapar3cid0, on 03/26/2009, -8/+29Anyone else think it is ridiculous that they are even considering letting him come back to the NFL? It seems like the league puts up with a lot of ***** that they didn't used to, for the sake of "superstars".
- amishjim, on 03/26/2009, -13/+32***** VICK!
- McPork, on 03/27/2009, -2/+19Dear Roger,
I'm very sorry you caught me choking the shiat out of my dogs.
Love, Mike - hokie47, on 03/27/2009, -1/+15I wish that we would have this same public outrage for every person that is murder or injured.
- Scrappy1850, on 03/27/2009, -1/+13being a felon doesnt mean you are not allowed to work
- SnapETom, on 03/27/2009, -1/+13***** you, Goodell. Now you're backtracking?
- KenSPT, on 03/27/2009, -9/+20He committed a crime, he served his time, if an NFL organization wants to hire him then he should be free to play for them.
Remorse for your crime isn't a pre-requisite to completing your sentence. - bblande, on 03/27/2009, -2/+11Please show remorse.Please show remorse.Please show remorse.Please show remorse.Please show remorse.Please show remorse.Please show remorse.Please show remorse.Please show remorse.Please show remorse.Please show remorse.Please show remorse.Please show remorse.Please show remorse.Please show remorse.Please show remorse.Please show remorse.Please show remorse.
So I can watch you get booed in every city you go to, *****. - NaziHatinChimp, on 03/27/2009, -10/+19***** that. That mother ***** hung and electrocuted dogs. ***** him. Anyone can show remorse but that doesn't mean they are remorseful. The dogs that are still alive have a lot of problems and the others were put down. ***** Micheal Vick. I love the NFL but I think Goodell is thinking right nor will I support any team that will take him.
- Mockylock, on 03/27/2009, -1/+8And his ***** brother.
- rheaume, on 03/27/2009, -0/+7I think him and every other criminal thug should be kicked out of the NFL
/How many players we got left? Oh ***** scratch that - oldhick, on 03/27/2009, -0/+6The organization does want him so your point is ridiculous. They've made it clear that if meets their conditions, they'll take him back.
- KenSPT, on 03/27/2009, -2/+8"Who cares if he served his sentence?"
... I do, because that's the penance for crimes in this country.
I am a firm believer in rehabilitation, and people being given second chances once they've served their debt to society. He did, and in the event the NFL decides they won't allow him to play in their league, I will disagree with that decision.
Personally, in the event I made a mistake and paid for my actions, I would want the opportunity to redeem myself. As heinous as Vick's crimes were, he deserves that same opportunity. - KenSPT, on 03/27/2009, -1/+7I understand that, but I believe that's unfair to him, There's nothing more he can do but serve the time mandated by the state, if society is going to give him a scarlet letter which prevents him from participating in his field of choice, what's the purpose of "rehabilitation"?
- FearisFailure, on 03/27/2009, -2/+7Of course he's gonna show remorse playing football is the only thing the dumb ass knows how to do and if he shows the slightest bit of remorse the ***** NFL will let him back in because the no good piece of ***** will sell tickets.
- friday04, on 03/27/2009, -1/+6You seriously put the horrific things this guy did to dogs in the same category as drug abuse?
I don't condone domestic violence in any way but domestic violence exists everywhere and is much bigger than normal people realize. It's everywhere. Those people should be punished and they are by the NFL whenever they're actually caught and reported. But domestic violence is a symptom of a bigger disease and that disease touches every aspect of American culture.
But what this guy did was beyond sick. He pitted animals against each other using the most extreme forms of cruelty in order to get them to want to kill each other. And if they didn't perform, he literally tortured them to death. - TheDeepFriar, on 03/27/2009, -1/+6and the RIAA!
- Barackalypse, on 03/27/2009, -1/+6Ah, the NFL, American's moral center, if it weren't for the fact that they have guys who victimized actual human beings still playing.
- skilco, on 03/27/2009, -3/+8NO WAY. Keep this trash out!!
He had his chance at superstardom and he gave it up when he decided to torture animals.
I for one do not want this clown on national tv thereby teling our children that this type of behavior will be tolerated. AT ALL! - TjLAXattack, on 03/27/2009, -1/+6He should have to clean dog parks.
- Sean42, on 03/27/2009, -7/+11***** him. I will boycott the NFL if they let this POS back in.
- friday04, on 03/27/2009, -0/+4If you kill a cow, chicken, deer, or rabbit and eat it, then the kill was for food. If you kill it for sport, then I don't like you much either. But a good hunter knows how to kill an animal quickly and efficiently.
They don't ***** torture it on purpose. - acknotSW, on 03/27/2009, -0/+4The only thing he is remorseful about is getting caught.
- sailor, on 03/27/2009, -1/+5I think it was ridiculous that he wasn't busted for running a organized crime/gambling operation...I think the killing of the dogs was the least of his crimes. I suspect a little dealing behind the scenes.
- doomedwer, on 03/27/2009, -3/+7What about the murderers, drug dealers, wife beaters, drunk drivers, and rapists currently in the NFL? Did they have to show any remorse?
Oh wait, their crime was only against humans and not something cute and furry. So that's ok.
What a bunch of hypocritical BS. If you made a list of the worst scumbags in the NFL, Vick wouldn't even be in the top 10. - Scrappy1850, on 03/27/2009, -1/+4Farve is/was a drunk? citation needed
- oldhick, on 03/27/2009, -3/+6Then you'll be boycotting! Have fun.
- FritoPendejo, on 03/27/2009, -0/+3I didn't know that playing in a football league was a constitutional right.
- vtdanokim, on 03/27/2009, -1/+4I agree, Vick would have been better off beating, raping, or killing women like Pacman, OJ or any of the other players. I don't understand how the killing of dogs is a worse crime then harm/abuse towards another human.
- FritoPendejo, on 03/27/2009, -3/+6You're right. So he can go get a job somewhere else as a janitor.
- kolop1, on 03/27/2009, -0/+3<a class="user" href="http://espn.go.com/classic/biography/s/Favre_Brett ... rel="nofollow">http://espn.go.com/classic/biography/s/Favre_Brett ...</a>
"I was still drinking and I was not the husband, was not the father that I needed to be. And I was getting older, too. And it wasn't as much fun. If I quit drinking, what do I do? I was scared of that. My wife said, 'Either you quit drinking or we're gone. And I said, 'Okay. I'm going to quit,'" says Brett Favre on ESPN Classic SportsCentury series. - inactive, on 03/27/2009, -2/+5Vick makes me puke. I'd be damned if I ever again watch him play.
- kano163, on 03/27/2009, -0/+3You can't force any employer to hire somebody because he can do a job they are in his own right to not hire him, NFL teams depends alot on image and PR, I dont think as much talend as he has any team will want a dog killer in their roster
- cntlscrut, on 03/27/2009, -1/+4you just can't be in any position where children may possibly look up to you in any manner. end of story.
- ericdano, on 03/27/2009, -1/+4Baseball lets guys who use performance enhancing drugs back when they do a little tear jerking on TV (A-hole, or A-Rod). Now football is going to let this sick-o back? Isn't it hypocritical to promote these sports as being good for kids and stuff when you have this ***** going on?
- endustry, on 03/27/2009, -0/+3Two words: Detroit Lions. Already withered. Already dead. What do they have to lose?
- cntlscrut, on 03/27/2009, -1/+4vick is lame. he wasn't that good a QB. he's overrated and i still care the same amount about him that i did years ago....none. lame
- NeoCortex, on 03/27/2009, -1/+3It does when part of the job is (ideally) good sportsmanship.
- Mockylock, on 03/27/2009, -0/+2If they really want the NFL to clean up their act, they need to set a rule to ban players on first offense of foul play. Pacman Jones, Vick, and all the other ***** wanna-be hood rats who make millions and get caught selling drugs, shooting people and other *****, just need to get cut and you won't have the ***** as much, just by setting an example. These ***** thrive on their millions, and when they see others go down, they'll watch their asses as well.
If they wanna live a thug life... send 'em to brooklyn without their entourage and money, then see how long they last. - TWallaceWD, on 03/27/2009, -0/+2Don't do what?
- Scrappy1850, on 03/27/2009, -1/+3doesnt sound like a drunk... sounds like he is whipped. a drunk loses his job and crashes his car and beats his wife.
- Natru3al, on 03/29/2009, -0/+2@billjimbob I agree we sometimes treat animal abusers way more than people abusers. I not even a MV fan don't really like the dude never really did, but he has paid his debt to society he should be able to given the chance to redeem himself. After all I thought that is what made this country great the fact that you could make mistakes and be given a shot at redemption. I think some folks just want revenge and not justice.
- frishackbanned, on 03/27/2009, -0/+2Any remaining self-respect
- whatthefu, on 03/27/2009, -0/+2He's no superstar anymore. No one likes him.
- Meursault, on 03/27/2009, -0/+2IDEA: Remorse School
"I am sorry that people were offended by my comments." FAIL
"I'm sorry for my idiotic comments." A++++
(Apparently we'll be using the ebay seller feedback grade scale.) - chaos7, on 03/27/2009, -0/+2what if he is not capable of feeling true remorse for this? if you expect him to feel remorse, but he can't, then you're being pretty damn stupid.
- TaylorSPL, on 03/27/2009, -0/+2Did someone really compare dog fighting to insider trading?
- frishackbanned, on 03/27/2009, -1/+3If his crime had been a crime of passion or a one-time 'mistake', then your comment is valid. Unfortunately, his crime showed who he really is, a disgusting sadistic freak, and 'doing his time' didn't magically remove the freak out of him. Why any team would want this cancer, I will never know.
- cntlscrut, on 03/27/2009, -0/+2my team didn't believe in passing or rushing because passing was lazy (giving somebody else the job you should be doing) and we didn't want to rush because we take pride careful planning and cautious execution (remember who won in "the tortoise and the hare?).
- inactive, on 03/27/2009, -2/+4The NFL cannot afford such a stupid move in this economy. If they're smart they'll cut their loses and remove Vick for good. Running around with a ball and slamming into people isnt exactly a unique skill.
They can find someone else. -
