- joshefosho, on 02/09/2009, -3/+21Larry Fitzgerald is just a beast, watching that 50 yard pass for a touchdown with 9 seconds left before halftime brought me back to the Super Bowl and what should have been 5 seconds left after an incomplete pass plus 30 yards further for Santonio Holmes touchdown celebration and James Farrior taking off his helmet after the "fumble"....ahh what could have been.
- DarrenFreemont, on 02/09/2009, -2/+18Another Pro Bowl, another year I forgot there was a Pro Bowl.
- hayden.evans, on 02/09/2009, -0/+12that guy catches everything
- Swarms, on 02/09/2009, -1/+9Didn't I read somewhere that they want to move the Pro Bowl to the week before the Superbowl to increase viewership? That would be the dumbest move ever if that's true.
- Swarms, on 02/09/2009, -0/+6That's ridiculous. Obviously the Superbowl teams are going to have some players that got selected. And obviously, they won't be going. You think Fitzgerald would have been in this game if it was played 2 weeks ago?
- bigbluemachine, on 02/09/2009, -0/+5Completely agree, the man is a beast and a name American football fans will be seeing long into the future, barring of course him pulling a "Plaxico", but equally skilled Harrison absolutely disgusted me during the SuperBowl as his "unnecessary roughness" seemed FAR beyond that to me and he should have been taken out of the game right then and there ... which if had happened would have probably given us the first Cardinal team as Champions.
- matt.rubin, on 02/09/2009, -0/+4he couldn't carry the team for that long.
- bigp3rm, on 02/09/2009, -1/+5As a cardinals fan.. umm. no!
- Truth3, on 02/09/2009, -1/+5People use the internet still? How pathetic.
- rednax313, on 02/09/2009, -2/+5Cardinals "fan?" Surely you are mistaken sir, as I am pretty sure those do not exist.
- fauxbro, on 02/09/2009, -0/+3its anquon boldon who is a free agent...... not lar fitz
- Truth3, on 02/09/2009, -0/+3It is true and its happening next year.
- chico4701, on 02/09/2009, -0/+3*****, must have missed it. Again.
- inactive, on 02/09/2009, -0/+3That's the dumbest move I've ever read. If a Proballer actually plays (not even remotely likely) and get injured... Who would think of that?
- anachronaut, on 02/09/2009, -1/+4If anyone was doing any holding, it was Kurt Warner. Deshea Townsend (#26) was trying to push him out of bounds and move on down field to continue blocking and Kurt Warner somehow managed to spin him completely around.
Just watch it a few times. It's pretty obvious who was holding whom. - TheRedeemer, on 02/09/2009, -8/+10People watched the Pro Bowl? That's funny...
- sleeknerve, on 02/09/2009, -0/+2people still ask question? Thats terrible.
- sleeknerve, on 02/09/2009, -0/+2he doesnt play defense unfortunatley,
they should stick him out at safety and see what happens - Naskin, on 02/09/2009, -1/+3Uh oh, sounds like *somebody* has a case of the Mondays!
- sleeknerve, on 02/09/2009, -1/+3umm, whatever they got plus 15 yards would be about where they would be.
- Xider, on 02/09/2009, -0/+2Wrong! Boldin still has 2 years left on his contract.
He has made it known he's unhappy with the Cardinals organization but would love to continue to play with the group of guys he plays with.
We'll see what happens in a few weeks, whether it be a contract extension or an impending trade. - Truth3, on 02/09/2009, -0/+1When does his contract end? Did the Cardinals give him a contract extension recently?
- sleeknerve, on 02/09/2009, -0/+1wow, i actually forgot that was today
- AoiTakuma, on 02/09/2009, -0/+1
- jakobmakob, on 02/09/2009, -2/+3The Pro Bowl should be in the middle of the year like baseball's all-star game, and the World Series should be hyped like the Super Bowl.
- D3koy, on 02/09/2009, -1/+2Couldn't have done that last week?
- NoamChimpsky, on 02/09/2009, -0/+1Didn't he once play LB?
- joshefosho, on 02/10/2009, -0/+1Yeah, that was his starting position in highschool
- rehrer, on 02/09/2009, -0/+1It's true. Unfortunately though it's hard to produce the same hype about a series as it is a single game.
- joshefosho, on 02/10/2009, -0/+1Giants could of had Fitz, but took Eli instead!
- welestgw, on 02/09/2009, -0/+1Should I feel bad that I watched the Cavs-Lakers game but not the pro-bowl?
- exformation, on 02/09/2009, -0/+1"The all-star contest, which has been played in Honolulu for 30 years but will be moved to Miami in 2010. That game will be played a week before, instead of after, the Super Bowl."
That seems to make more sense. But if your team is in the super bowl, you might not want to risk getting hurt in the pro bowl... - jnav121, on 02/09/2009, -0/+1guy on the couch? guy?
- NoamChimpsky, on 02/09/2009, -1/+1Yes, I would love the very best players on my team to play in a meaningless exhibition game the week BEFORE they play in the Super Bowl.
Not only do they risk injury needlessly just before the biggest game in their careers, they also miss out on a week of rest/preparation that the "scrubs" will enjoy.
Who the ***** came up with this idea? All-star games are a joke. We all know this. You cannot FORCE them into being popular/interesting, and you shouldn't really try. All this will do is force Super Bowl bound players to skip the Pro Bowl. - inactive, on 02/09/2009, -3/+3*Yawn*
"The Pro-Bowl?"
*Goes back to sleep* - inactive, on 02/09/2009, -1/+1Former NYC'er and Giants fan here. I hope we can get Burress back. He'll likely be more focused on the game since his career is about the only thing that can save him from NYC's crappy gun laws.
- daveward, on 02/09/2009, -1/+1I'm a hardcore football fan and even I forgot this was on. Don't think I've ever watched a pro-bowl in my life. When the players don't care at all about it how can they expect the fans to.
- NoamChimpsky, on 02/09/2009, -5/+5I'm getting so tired of this whiny *****. First the Seahawk crybabies, now the Cardinals.
The refs did not cost Arizona the game.
The fact that the Cardinals laid an egg for 3 1/2 quarters lost them the game. They had, what an eight minute stretch close to the end of the 4th quarter? Wow, they were so totally awesome, they should have won! They were robbed!
How about not letting the Steelers mop the field with you for 80+% of the game. How about making a play on defense when the Steelers have to go about 90 yards in 2 1/2 minutes [after the holding call that started off their game-winning drive--yep the refs were pulling for Pittsburgh all the way with that one]?
How about covering Santonio Holmes?
How about actually sacking/tackling Big Ben/Holmes instead of wiffing on air as they march down the field and plant a dagger in the end zone?
How about shutting the ***** up? - datdamonfoo, on 02/09/2009, -0/+0Wow, I had no idea the Pro Bowl was on. Why would they schedule it when the Lakers played the Cavs?!
- cocktaco, on 02/09/2009, -1/+1http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mggnKtpQfM
At 7 seconds in the video:
Kurt Warner(13) blocks Townsend(26) with both arms.
13's arms go down to his sides. 26's right hand is holding his jersey.
26 spins 13 around by holding on to his jersey.
13's left hand makes contact with 92's right shoulder pad then slides down (not a hold)
13's right hand is on 26's right arm, trying to get him to let go of his jersey. (not a hold by Warner)
Just watch it a few times. It's pretty obvious who was holding whom. - JermTool, on 02/09/2009, -0/+0Oh, the Pro Bowl was on?
- atk124, on 02/09/2009, -3/+2How much do you want to bet that the comments section turns into another bitchfest about the Superbowl?
To save some time, I'm going to sum up the issues to be discussed:
"Harrison should've been ejected" vs. "He was just playing football, crybabies"
"Harrison's runback was amazing" vs. "Kurt Warner was held"
"Arizona got bad calls" vs. "The Steelers faced bad calls too"
Let me also say that nothing will result from this discussion, and that it will not change the outcome of the superbowl. - AoiTakuma, on 02/09/2009, -2/+1The celebration penalty would have been assessed on the kickoff. it doesnt translate directly into field possession. Anything could have happened on that kick-off.
- inactive, on 02/09/2009, -3/+1o yahhh that was today huh
- cocktaco, on 02/09/2009, -3/+1also, Harrison's 100 INT before halftime shouldn't have counted. a Steeler was holding Kurt Warner as he was about to knock Harrison out of bounds.
- hadi2f, on 02/09/2009, -3/+0yeah check it out http://ishoutloud.com/FITZGERALD-LEADS-NFC-TO-VICT ...
- inactive, on 02/09/2009, -8/+1Is football over now? thank god.
- Truth3, on 02/09/2009, -11/+2Eli to Fitz, I want to see more of that. **Giants acquire Fitzgerald**
