- czeman, on 08/03/2008, -35/+70I'm getting sick of hearing about Brett Favre. ***** Brett Favre!
- adml_shake, on 08/03/2008, -2/+37John Madden must be on cloud 9! Another year to express his man crush to everyone!
- ironeus, on 08/03/2008, -1/+34wow -- retirement impossible!
- buchhomr, on 08/03/2008, -4/+34I hope he retires after this season... then decides to comeback... again.
- tewstep, on 08/03/2008, -1/+19so...the NFL player that's on the cover of Madden 2009 is going to play this year?
- vanzan, on 08/03/2008, -3/+20I can't imagine NFL without Favre, but the way he forced himself in this last time really made his return tasteless.
- GuitarHeroDenn, on 08/03/2008, -2/+17Seriously, who the ***** didn't see this coming?
- inactive, on 08/03/2008, -1/+13He's on the cover.
- inactive, on 08/03/2008, -1/+10you mean after the 40 billion hours of Favre coverage on ESPN?
- KillerFuzzball, on 08/03/2008, -5/+13He is wasting everyone's time. When is he gonna realize that he's played enough and just needs to go home? Give one of the younger guys a chance!
- Astheria, on 08/03/2008, -9/+17The Packers organization can't really fix the damage they've done to their image with their handling of this situation... unfortunately this doesn't mean he'll be playing for the Packers yet so this isn't over yet.
- readacook, on 08/03/2008, -2/+10"Aaron Rogers kills Brett Favre in hunting accident"
Do I have to wait for this to happen, or can I submit it now? - fletcher008, on 08/03/2008, -2/+8***** enough with this meme. srsly.
- kosmoX, on 08/03/2008, -3/+9We(the Bears) could always try and acquire him. God knows we need a QB.
- tinybubs, on 08/03/2008, -1/+7At least with him reinstated the Packers are forced to do something with him to put an end to the soap opera, then we can look forward to the season.
- Submerge, on 08/03/2008, -2/+8What are you talking about? Ted Thompson (General Manager) is a douche bag that has been getting ready of getting rid of Brett for the past couple years. He probably would have sidelined Favre this year even if he didn't retire. And for who? Rodgers. He might be decent but nowhere as good as Favre, and he's injury prone! But what no one tells you is Rodgers was Thompson's first draft pick, so he wants to see him succeed. It's ridiculous and we should bring Favre back, we were 3 points from going to the Super Bowl last year, why would you want a new quarterback? Rodgers' probably won't bring us to the playoffs, it's pretty much a guaranteed bet Favre would.
- inactive, on 08/03/2008, -0/+6him and his cane throwing for over 4,100 yards and 28 TD's...?
- kingjoey52a, on 08/03/2008, -1/+6He was always in Madden 09, but he was a free agent.
- fletcher008, on 08/03/2008, -3/+8nothing can help the vikings right now.
- Submerge, on 08/03/2008, -1/+6it was for 10 years
- cusoman, on 08/03/2008, -4/+9Stop saying FAIL! It's as bad as "like", seriously.
- inactive, on 08/03/2008, -9/+14Bench him, just so I can watch him cry like a little girl to the media.
- computerfreedom, on 08/03/2008, -7/+12Yeah, damn Brett! Legendary QBs that throw a 4000+ yards season only to get second stringed, get out of the way!
- jeremyosborne81, on 08/03/2008, -6/+11You're right, he's an even bigger DOUCHE than Clemens. The only thing left is he hasn't been caught with a needle in his ass.
- lukemorris, on 08/03/2008, -3/+7No. I still have respect for Brett Favre. Let's not turn him into that douche Roger Clemens.
- cathpah, on 08/03/2008, -2/+6that, and favre never wore that craptastic yankees uniform.
- sdub86, on 08/03/2008, -1/+5Brett Favre told me to tell you thanks for the tip. He had no idea what to do until he read your comment.
- Sail3, on 08/04/2009, -5/+9Shoulda just stayed in retirement and enjoyed his 20M payday...
- Nates1, on 08/03/2008, -1/+5Hes not the 1st to come out of retirement...I think they get bored once out of the spotlight and miss the competitiveness.
Here are a few other who have tried to come out of retirement.
George Foreman
Gordie Howe
Mario Lemieux
Roger Clemens
Michael Jordan
I think he should have stay retired but dont think it will have any impact on his legacy.

- quomen, on 08/03/2008, -2/+5Stop saying SERIOUSLY! It's as bad as "dude", ftl.
- Arteen, on 08/03/2008, -3/+6so will he be in Madden 09 or not?
- bill80, on 08/03/2008, -8/+11That doesn't mean he'll end up playing for the Packers this season . . . At least Bears fans can hope that's the case.
- ColonelTribune, on 08/03/2008, -1/+4The "official" line is that the Bears have their QBs. I wonder if Lovie Smith agrees.
- AAK15, on 08/03/2008, -3/+6He'll get injured have no fear
- crazym0nkey01, on 08/03/2008, -2/+5The packers said they're committed to Rodgers. So at the moment. No.
- wrathoftheafe, on 08/03/2008, -3/+6Brett Favre is such an ass. He's been doing this back and forth bs since the falcons beat them in the 02 playoffs. He calls press conferences to let people know he hasnt decided anything yet. All he ever talks about is himself, and he shows up everyone on the field.
Manny Ramirez catches hell every time he watches one of his home runs for a minute, but Favre runs around acting like he just won the damn Super Bowl every time he throws for a first down.
There are those that say he just wants to play football so bad and that it has nothing to do with money, yet last week he actually admitted to considering the Packers' offer of $20m over 10 yrs to not play. Go away Brett. Save what little dignity you have left. - toddwdraper, on 08/03/2008, -2/+5PHYSIC? WTF?
He's a football player, not Olivia Newton John. - sdub86, on 08/03/2008, -1/+4Wrong. Jordan was known for being far more aggressive and demanding of his teammates than Favre ever was. And I wouldn't call the Packers' current situation "*****" by any means. They're returning nearly every key player from a team that finished 3 points shy of the Super Bowl last year. Favre loves the game and knows he's still got enough left in his tank to play another season or two. Who are we to judge him and deny him the opportunity that each of us would LOVE to have? Sit back and enjoy it, soon you won't be able to.
- Deadpool13, on 08/03/2008, -7/+10Favre has done enough for the Packers organization that they should just let the guy play.
I know they want to get Aaron Rogers going, but he can certainly wait another year having proven nothing, and if he ends up walking, the Pack still has plenty of unproven QB's on their roster to compete for the starting job if Favre leaves.
Let's see, proven Hall of Fame QB or a guy who has thrown a total of 59 passes.
I know which way I'd pick. - Thrdstringer, on 08/04/2008, -0/+3HE has a ring. HE won superbowl XXXI.
- wrathoftheafe, on 08/03/2008, -2/+5the bears are who we thought they were.
- Ajajadude, on 08/03/2008, -1/+3It's not like the Packers didn't have a contingency plan if Favre stayed retired. It's not like they're going to lose anything if he comes back, either. The Packers organization screwed this one up big time. Their GM has been chomping at the bit to get Rogers in as the starting QB and when Favre came back wanting to keep playing it screwed up Thompson's plans. Instead of making Favre prove he'd be a better starter than Rogers in training camp, Thompson decided to go the low road and do what he could to block Favre from coming back.
Yeah, Favre dragged this out too long. But, you know what? He's pretty much earned the right to want to continue playing with the Packers. - chadsterrr, on 08/03/2008, -1/+3*Vikings
- inactive, on 08/04/2008, -1/+3Green Bay's management apparently.
- Sail3, on 08/04/2009, -0/+2Actually know that I know he'll be able to fight for the starting position I'm really happy for him. I just didn't want to see him traded to the Vikings and ruining his entire legacy.
- 8ight, on 08/03/2008, -10/+12I want to see either of two things happen with Brett Favre.
1.) Stand on the sideline with a clipboard all year.
2.) Be the starting QB for the Minnesota Vikings.
Either one of those and I will be happy. I think Brett should have hung it up a few years back... but after last year it was a poor decision.
I'm not a Packers, Vikings, or any other team in the NFC "fan". I just think the Vikings could be KILLER with Favre. Plus the whole NFC Central rival and all. On top of that week 1 when #4 was to be retired would actually be Brett returning to Lambeau in purple instead! Or, on the other hand... Favre coming out of retirement and holding a clipboard the next two years until his contract is up would be funny too.
I don't want to see the Packers give in and award his starting QB job back. And I don't really care to see him on the Bears either. The Bears are going to suck ding dong and he might as well went to the Jets if he's going to play for a proven loser.
Plus I want to rip on my Bears fan friends who squirm at the sound of "Grossman" or better yet "Orton". Ha!
Anyway, some are sick of Brett Favre... but I think it's quiet interesting. Looking forward to next weeks NFL news. - djk21108, on 08/04/2008, -1/+3Favre*
