- jamessavik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't like the very idea of fantasy football. Football is a team sport and fantasy football puts the emphasis on individuals.
If you must bet on something, be a man and bet on the games. It's not difficult to pick a bunch of stars who are going to do well. It is difficult to look at teams, their personnel, chemistry, offensive and defensive schemes and figure out how they are going to stack up to their opponents. - ShakeWell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1you do realize that people can do both? fantasy sport is just more involved in terms of getting a group of 8-12 people together and letting everyone have a chance at winning with a completely different group of players, instead of everyone piling on the bandwagon and betting on 2 or 3 teams that are predicted to dominate.
fantasy football doesn't take away the team aspect of football. it just adds another dimension to the game. Any FFB veteran will tell you that you don't draft a RB for his skills alone, but for the supporting cast as well. That's why the highest sought after RBs all have decent OLs that can pave the way. The highest ranked QBs have good receivers and good protection...
and it's not like the real NFL teams are going to pay any attention to what the fantasy footballers say. just look at Denver, Shanahan's been screwing people over for years with his running backs. In the end, FFB is just another fun thing to do while following your favorite sport. - Blizzardman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not suprising to hear, AOL needs all the help they can get nowadays.
- SynApse77, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Fantasy sports is without a doubt a booming industry for providers and gamblers alike. The issue I take with the prevalence of web based is the utter lack of basic security in a lot of these applications. There are major vulnerabilities in many of the big sites and the issues don’t appear to be being fixed.
- jadecristal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Like the Bud commercial says:
Imaginary passes, with imaginary goals. Next up, an imaginary score, with an imaginary girl. - SportsBuff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You are out of touch. Play the game. It benefits each league and increases the popularity of players and teams. You can play in groups of thousands by playing salary cap or simple fantasy games. And, I can tell you from 15 years of experience, it is a game of skill. The Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act recently carved out fantasy sports as legal, because it is. It's fun. It's simple. And it's a great way to interact with friends in a small league or strangers in a big contest.
Lots to enjoy... - smfame, on 02/24/2009, -0/+0Fantasy Football- its an addiction
