- istatic, on 10/10/2007, -2/+69Umm, I believe you're suppose to purchase the overpriced bottled water at the concession stands.
- JEWestbrookJR, on 10/10/2007, -0/+53I went to an outdoor music festival in 2002 in kansas city and thought that I was so smart because I brought two 1-liter bottles of water. The security at the door took off both of the bottle caps and threw them away so that I would have to drink them, throw them away, or stand around with two big open containers all day. Then come to find out 16oz bottles of water were $6, there was no free water, it was 104 degrees that day. people had to be taken to the emergency room from heat exhaustion. What an evil ***** way to make a buck. I guess that college sports read about what great profits are to be had in abusing your attendees.
- ihate2regist, on 10/10/2007, -0/+25bring extra caps
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 10/10/2007, -2/+21I was at that game, it was hot as *****. No roof, no water, too many people. I'm not going back to that cheap stadium until they fix it up.
- shabumike, on 10/10/2007, -3/+18I bet they sold bottled water for 3$ each.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15Its called greed at the expense of peoples health. Welcome to America.
- ihate2regist, on 10/10/2007, -4/+17poor fans sneak in beer
- qualish, on 10/10/2007, -3/+14I thought drinking fountains were mandatory? Like restrooms. Stupid Floridians.
- futureisours, on 10/10/2007, -4/+13How difficult is it to go to the bathroom and drink sink water? Yeah it sucks but better than passing out and risking your health.
- whereisian, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9It's often not potable
- ToadLeg, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Pepsi Corporation needs money.
- jjesusfreak01, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7They had "watering stations" that you could "purchase" water from...and knowing that it is a sports venue, they probably charged $3+ for the bottles. I know my schools football stadium concession stands charge $3.50, but we also have water fountains, and if you walked in with a bottle in your pocket, they would likely not notice nor care. The guys in charge here care more about the students than the money. One of the athletic directors at my school gave me a couple dollars to help buy concessions the other day when he realized that the closest ATM was out of service. I go to UNC...
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8I'm a UCF student.
- pintomp3, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8they should have been drinking brawndo anyway, it's got electrolytes.
- mastercheif, on 10/10/2007, -4/+9Retards, you can't buy beer at a college game. GTFO and try again.
- RST1123, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8But hey; the stadium was completed in only 15 months! And what a stadium it is.
- reb42, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6So do you.
- Ajajadude, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I musta been hallucinating all those years I attended games while at South Florida
- justinjus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5The game was fantastic! The bleachers were falling apart though (the caps at the ends of the seats were coming off). They'll probably have to weld that piece in or glue it because snapping just isn't holding.
- pintomp3, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4to get you to buy the overpriced water. capitalism at it's finest.
- crossmr, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6I think you're missing the fact that a lot of these people are products of the american education system..
- billucf, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Some people tried to buy water, but the lines were so long from the sold out game that a few of them passed out in the water lines.
- jgoodstein, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4that stuff is for plants, duh
- Nissmo66, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Great my school makes Digg's front page and it's this.....
I was at that game, you must be more than a little slow you you couldn't find a drink.
The real story here is that we almost beat Texas! - skyshock1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3You're lucky they let you bring them in. Read my post a few posts down, they made us throw ours out at the door. There should be laws against that kind of *****.
- dogshaft, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3The local news said water bottles at the stadium were $3 each. They ran out. For the next game they're going to have much more water and apparently are going to be giving it out for free to ticket holders, which doesn't make sense since I'd think that everyone in the stadium would have a ticket. On a side note, they were running off of 2001 building codes which for some reason had the medieval notion that a 45k person stadium wouldn't need any water fountains. That's just an excuse because UCF will look for any reason they can to rip you off.
- skyshock1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3This is the same ***** they pulled on us at an Ozzfest one year. Up until about an hour after the gates opened, the water fountains worked. Then they ***** turned them off forcing people to buy their overpriced bottled water ($5 a bottle?!?!). It was in the middle of July in Atlanta. 100 degree heat, 100% humidity.
Thanks Sharon Osbourne... ya *****. - JEWestbrookJR, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4@ ihate2regist
"Bring extra caps"
Funny story, the next year I brought a whole pocket of them :) - LMaxey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Actually they did. Exactly 3 dollars.
- LMaxey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3It was Dasani actually
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Did I say somewhere that I had heat problems? Did I pass out from exhaustion? No. I didn't have any problem at all, except with the stadium itself. They rushed to complete it, and in the end, the stadium is suffering because of it.
- analogvoid, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3*****, it was a good game. Didn't notice the lack of water fountains. I was already hydrated from the "beverage consumption" while tailgating. I'll be out there again this Saturday :D
- bremstrong, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4The issue was raised before the game:
http://www.wesh.com/news/14118338/detail.html
"We're planning the best game day experience, and I feel we'll be able to meet everyone's needs," Heston said. Fans will not be allowed to bring in outside food and drink, but UCF insists it has plenty of water -- and not just for sale." - slyweazel, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6go knights
- whereisian, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3now you do
- TwwIX, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Bottled Water is your friend.
- PhilLesh69, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Who exactly is this "the economy" guy they keep talking about, and why does he he always deserve more of my (and most american's) hard-earned money than I deserve??
- Nissmo66, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2go knights!
- rdsxminion, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2beer and alcohol dehydrate you... so therefore you would be making it worse for yourself.
- Bokista, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2That'd give new meaning to the phrase "bust a cap in yo' ass."
- skyshock1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Hahha, ***** you can't! Maybe if you go to one of those Bible-beater colleges you can't. The rest of us civilized folk enjoy a cold beer at the game.
- DeltaWolf, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I was at the game and while I didnt see anyone pass out, I did see some chick puke behind those firetrucks they had parked outside gate 16.
- DeltaWolf, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Right, Exactly 3 dollars for bottled water, then they ran out of water and I paid 3 dollars for tap water with ice in a coke cup. No kidding.
- Darthcactaur, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I bet it was under budget too. Lowest bid FTW.
- TD_Birds, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Uhh... I buy beer at college games all the time... where did you go to school? BYU?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Or a gun and dare them to take off your bottle caps.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+6I was at the game, and I was fine. I got to the stadium at 9am, and drank til almost 5pm. People should stop relying on other people and take care of themselves. If you know you are prone to heat exhaustion, bring water in a cooler.
- kundalini, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1We don't have water fountains at any of our stadiums in Wisconsin...got a ***** ton of bubblers though.
- belv, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2That stadium went up relatively quick. construction began spring 2006 and it's already being used. I'm honestly not sure exactly how long other stadiums take to be built, but it's safe to say this one isn't exactly "complete."
- natenovs, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2the tap water is filtered through reverse osmosis, which leaves nothing but the H and the 2 Os in it. it's hardly tap water at that point.
