People magazine chose Rich Gannon to be 1998's sexiest athlete. Told photographer to take pictures of the quarterback, who proceeded to shoot the wrong one. People didn't have the heart to tell Elvis Grbac that he wasn't the athlete they intended to use, so they ran with it and let him keep the title.
