- tbenathan, on 12/31/2008, -6/+37If my team ended up appearing in the Super Bowl, you can bet your ass I wouldn't let any of my players even show up at the Pro Bowl.
Why would I want my players potentially injured before the most important game of their careers? - zubi, on 12/30/2008, -4/+27Thats just stupid, but then again, so is the pro bowl.
- mckirkus, on 12/31/2008, -3/+25So all of the best players from the super bowl teams will either sit it out or get fired for getting injured. Great.
- inactive, on 12/30/2008, -3/+21I still won't watch it.
- DatDudeWiggs, on 12/31/2008, -0/+8Pro bowlers from the super bowl teams won't be participating in the pro bowl
- endustry, on 12/31/2008, -0/+7Super Bowl players have a habit of flaking on the Pro Bowl anyway.
- BreakingBnj, on 12/31/2008, -4/+10Oh. It'll be on TV.
- triscuitbiscuit, on 12/31/2008, -0/+4Why would ESPN broadcast the super bowl???
Lose a large amount of people in watching a game? When its Disney's turn to air it, they want to make as much money as possible and therefore put it on ABC, not ESPN. - wdw25, on 12/31/2008, -3/+7Because anyone who will be playing and coaching in the superbowl won't be in the probowl.
- Mark2600, on 12/31/2008, -4/+7Yeah, still won't make me watch it.
- ShugNinx21, on 12/31/2008, -0/+3The ESPN Sunday Night crew kicked ass because Paul Maguire would just plain out tell Theisman to shut up when Theisman started running his mouth too much. In fact during that time was the only time I enjoyed watching Theisman Commentating, because without someone to keep him in check he is annoying as hell.
Korneiser is the same way, except nobody tells him to shut the ***** up when he gets annoying. Which is all the ***** time. - rkluender, on 12/31/2008, -1/+4You guys are all incredibly short-sighted. Anyone who actually gives a ***** about the NFL knows that the weekend before the Super Bowl is brutally empty. While playing the week before the Super Bowl might eliminate the 5 or 6 players (tops) from the two Super Bowl teams, it fills the void of the off week and greatly increases the interest in watching the Pro Bowl. I've almost never watched it before because my interest had faded by the time it was on but I will almost certainly watch it this year as it will be played at a time when the NFL is at fever pitch the week before the biggest game of the year.
- KDX200rider, on 12/31/2008, -0/+3So this means the 2010 Pro-Bowl will have announcers who have no clue and camera angles that miss all the actions.
- MisterThirteen, on 12/31/2008, -0/+2YES! Jesus Christ, he is horrible!
- Picciuto, on 12/31/2008, -1/+3As long as ESPN doesn't broadcast the Super Bowl. I want to stab myself in the effin neck every time Tony Korneiser opens his stupid-ass mouth. TONY, YOU ARE NOT FUNNY. Please die soon.
- Willtheway, on 12/31/2008, -0/+2gotta love all the diggers who make comments when they apparently don't watch sports.
- jpmoney03, on 12/31/2008, -0/+2Um it more likely be 5 or 6 players from each side not going. The Vikings for example have six pro bowlers this year.
- cuoops, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1They should turn it into a contest instead of a game. Battle of the Pro Bowlers. More people would probably watch.
- TruthKid, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1Nothing like the good ol' NBA Home Run Derby! Watch sports much champ?
- tyronenguyen, on 12/31/2008, -6/+7It'd be a shame if some of the dudes from the super bowl teams get injured in the pro bowl.
- LordRedSnake, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1I agree with your criticism of the nonsense half-hearted play of the pro bowl, but fans want to see fan favorites... putting in more worthy, but lesser known players might be great for hardcore fans, but it's not going to attract the masses.
- wdw25, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1I liked the ESPN sunday night crew with Joe Theismann, Paul Maguire, and Mike Patrick. They all had good chemistry and they cut down on the *****.
But this crew sucks ass. I like Korneiser on PTI but he is so bad on MNF. Jaws and Tirico suck too. - shiddysmurf, on 12/31/2008, -1/+2FTA:"We are looking at alternatives to strengthen the Pro Bowl," NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement Tuesday
How about not airing it on ESPN! - jpmoney03, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1Jaws does tell him to shut the hell up but only when he goes way beyond normal annoying Tony.
- OMGRussellCrowe, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1uhh...yeah. Just like if the Bucs made it this year, they would be playing at home.
- slayerab, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1Also, expect ridiculously random statistics that no viewer has every thought of, along with random snippets of an interview with Will Ferrell
- CleoQKazoo, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1I love living in miami. we get the superbowl all the time
- rpieszak, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1Come on, Jaws provides some good insight.
- slayerab, on 12/31/2008, -0/+1 Now I wont watch because its on ESPN
- Cheesasaurus, on 12/31/2008, -2/+2He's the best...
at throwing interceptions. I live in Jersey and I'll admit it. - rahamm, on 12/31/2008, -1/+1MLB yes you are right I wrote NBA twice on propose because I think Major league baseball and Basketball are the same sport. You are sooooooooooooooooo much smarter then anyone.
- explodey, on 12/31/2008, -1/+1A probowl with none of the supebowl players in it due to injury risk, awesome!
- DreamVsPs2, on 12/31/2008, -1/+1they need a slam dunk competition for the pro bowl.
- inactive, on 12/31/2008, -2/+2The only way anyone will ever watch the Pro Bowl is if it were played by players who actually deserved it instead of fan favorites, and they played a full out game where blitzing was allowed like a real game instead of a half speed and limited ***** game. Think how cool it would be to watch the very best play a "real" game against each other.
- ejeckert, on 12/31/2008, -0/+0Great I'll put it on the calendar now...considering it isnt even till 2010,,,WHO CARES!
- mpoulin, on 12/31/2008, -0/+0ESPN rules!
- romeyinfc, on 12/31/2008, -2/+2I don't know why you're burying ITheJosh, he's right. Super Bowl players MAKE the Pro Bowl, but don't necessarily go to the game. In fact, a lot of players don't make the trip. It's a joke all-around.
- rahamm, on 12/31/2008, -1/+1I am just gonna tell you like it is.
Pro Bowl sucks, NHL all star game Sucks, NBA all star game sucks (outside of the dunking and 3 point comp), NBA all star game sucks (home run thing is ok I guess) Please just stop. - triscuitbiscuit, on 12/31/2008, -1/+1That takes a whole element out of the game then... While it is not a necessity that a super bowl team be full of pro bowlers, chances are, there are going to be a large amount of players from those teams who are voted into the pro bowl based on the fact that for those teams that will end up in the super bowl, people will hear their names more often.
Its a really dumb decision altogether. You are essentially taking away a lot of fun from a handful of players just because they are on good teams.
Change it back. - mikhial66, on 12/31/2008, -3/+2But Favre totally deserves to be in the Pro Bowl!

I think there should be an All Star Weekend in the middle of the season like every other league. Play the Pro Bowl, have skills competitions, best catch competitions? I dunno.. just seems like the Pro Bowl is too little too late, everyone is NFLed out by February. - D1Foley, on 12/31/2008, -3/+2I'm glad they have it, when networks broadcast games they always make the announcers mention shows that are on after the game during the game, ESPN at least sticks to sports.
