- random12345, on 12/29/2008, -1/+45Hows that for revenge against the team that kicked him to the curb?
- irfanmp, on 12/29/2008, -3/+36Winning the AFC East is sweet, but beating the Jets to win it makes it even sweeter.
- cdhill, on 12/29/2008, -1/+32Man, the beginning of the season predictions were so off this year. Atlanta, Baltimore, and Miami all make the playoffs, and Dallas, New England, and the Jets all miss them. Funny how sports work.
- inactive, on 12/29/2008, -2/+31Great news. My douchebag father-in-law is a Jets fan.
- myklee, on 12/29/2008, -16/+41Miami has the Dolphins
The Greatest Football Team
We take the ball from goal to goal
Like no one's ever seen
We're in the air, we're on the ground
We're always in control
And when you say Miami
You're talking Super Bowl
'Cause we're the...
Miami Dolphins,
Miami Dolphins,
Miami Dolphins Number One.
Yes we're the...
Miami Dolphins,
Miami Dolphins,
Miami Dolphins Number One! - sibos, on 12/29/2008, -4/+24I

- limpl0uie, on 12/29/2008, -1/+16This is a glorious day for South Florida sports fans like myself.
- mooninite, on 12/29/2008, -0/+14LOL 'boys didn't make the playoffs.
- FreddieD, on 12/29/2008, -0/+14It looks like Ace Ventura saved Snowflake just in time.
- Ajajadude, on 12/29/2008, -0/+12How is losing to a playoff bound team inexcusable?
- ralfan01, on 12/29/2008, -1/+13Being a fins fan and being at the game today was a great experience...all the Jets fans left..oh...around the middle of the third quarter. :-)
- OasisR123, on 12/29/2008, -0/+12...get real.
there is 1-15 and then there IS 0-16 - DatDudeWiggs, on 12/29/2008, -1/+12Go Dolphins!!!
- louiebaur, on 12/29/2008, -1/+12Awesome Game!~
- inactive, on 12/29/2008, -2/+12Sparano and Pennington have extremely solid cases for COY and MVP honors, respectively, and they'd both totally deserve it. Can't believe Pennington wasn't selected for the Pro Bowl when the old man with 20+ interceptions was...
- inactive, on 12/29/2008, -1/+9I endured last season, I went to the games and supported our fins. People say you can't be a Miami sports fan, were not loyal. My season tickets last season and this one sure as hell do, I went to every game last season, and im going next saturday! GO PHINS!
- MisterThirteen, on 12/29/2008, -2/+10If i could digg you up twice, i would.
- mmmunaf, on 12/29/2008, -4/+12A glimmer of hope for the Lions.
- Zapple100, on 12/29/2008, -0/+7Nobody mentioned Bill Parcells for rebuilding the Dolphins.
- Taiyoryu, on 12/29/2008, -2/+9Excuse? What excuse is that? If anything, this season proved that the Pats don't need Brady to win. The one constant that the Pats have had as they continue to lose players for whatever reason is Belichick. As much as I dislike him as a person, you have to respect his skills as a coach.
- skinsgamer, on 12/29/2008, -1/+8Not a Dolphins fan but congratulations.
- bmcnally, on 12/29/2008, -1/+8Jake Long is awesome.
- djpaec, on 12/29/2008, -0/+7Being a Dolphins fan since I can remember this is a great day after the last season. I'm also glad Pennington got revenge on the Jets for kicking him to the curb for Old Man shoulda stayed retired, but I can't complain the Dolphins finally have a good Quarterback. Just took what 10 or so seasons? =p
- Samg85, on 12/29/2008, -0/+5No joke, I have always rooted for Pennington since he came out of Marshall. It's great to see him take the Dolphins to the playoffs.
- SRSco, on 12/29/2008, -1/+6I wasn't going to digg the song, but I lent my digg to you.
- Mckayormacky, on 12/29/2008, -1/+6Based on what?
- AmericanGunner, on 12/29/2008, -0/+511-5 without cheating is pretty good for the pats
- Peko, on 12/29/2008, -0/+4Went 1-15 last season. Started the season 2 and 4. Finished 11 and 5.
/admits he wrote of the fish very early. - inactive, on 12/29/2008, -4/+8You cant blame them, they got Favre who was suppost to help them out and it looked like a very good move after they beat the Titans.... then from there it went downhill
- MetalHead73, on 12/29/2008, -2/+6Cowboy's were missing Romo for 3 games, which completely destroyed them, but getting embarrassed by the Eagles and the Ravens is just pathetic.
- Ajajadude, on 12/29/2008, -3/+7What's even better is the fans all of a sudden coming out of the woodwork.
- inactive, on 12/29/2008, -0/+3join the club. from a green bay resident.
- MisterThirteen, on 12/29/2008, -0/+3Honestly it doesn't matter how they do in the playoffs. Of course it would be awesome if we went all the way and won, but do you realize that this year was just supposed to be a rebuilding year for the Dolphins? We only won one game last season, and to come back and be in the playoffs and win the division is more than anyone expected. I don't care what happens in the playoffs, i couldn't be more proud to be a fins fan right now.
- gijoe86, on 12/29/2008, -0/+3That's what every team that played the dolphins said...
And look out Baltimore! This is a different team than what you faced 9 weeks ago! - inactive, on 12/30/2008, -0/+3Newsflash: Pro Bowl isn't determined by smart people.
- myklee, on 12/29/2008, -0/+3seriously, the fins should have won the first game against them... farve drops back... he scrambles... chucks it up in the air, TD! that was such BS..... we controlled that game today so, no, the jets shouldn't have won. even as a fins fan i've always liked pennington and he fits well into our scheme. karma is a bitch.
- dynamojoe, on 12/29/2008, -0/+3Hey, be nice to Brett! He hat two touchdown throws yesterday! (OK, one was to a Dolphin, but still...)
- sibos, on 12/29/2008, -0/+3Not have Brady is just an excuse for others. As a Pats fan, we still felt pretty confident in the rest of the team's abilities. I would add that he was FAR from our only injury this year, but it was the earliest and most profound.
But I would agree that his missing in action does support that football (perhaps above other sports) is both unpredictable, and also a very much team oriented. No one person by them-self can claim all the glory, and nor should he hold all the blame. - Mossman85, on 12/29/2008, -0/+3Hello.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlMnfHqPefY - ohhaiitsryan, on 12/29/2008, -1/+3dont forget brett favre throwing an interception on a promising drive in OT that ultimately sent the giants to the superbowl. that wasnt a big deal or anything.
hes a piece of *****. 3 picks for every 4 tds. doesnt deserve a pinch of the attention and is nothing more than a cancer to the nfl. get the ***** out of the league. stay out. vanish forever. - RG13, on 12/31/2008, -0/+2As a Pats fan, I'm kind of sad (not too sad, they sort of deserved it). But Cassel has been getting better and better compared to the crap passes he was doing at the beginning of the year, plus he had a lot of pressure having to fill Brady's huge shoes. I really wanted to see how he would do in the playoffs...but oh well. Gratz Dolphins :)
- roastedbagel, on 12/29/2008, -1/+3I haven't dugg up this many comments in one submission, ever.
/big time Dolphins fan here - mr.hostility, on 12/29/2008, -2/+4As a Jet fan I was rooting for the Dolphins. My reasoning was, the Ravens were going to win for sure, and to hell with the Patriots making it into the playoffs. Anything to make life miserable for Pats/Red Sox fans. :)
- BugsSport, on 12/29/2008, -2/+4Looks good for Detroit next year...okay maybe not.
- anarchydude, on 12/29/2008, -0/+2Totally!! Bill Parcels is THE reason the Dolphins are where they are now.
- Sh0rtstak, on 12/29/2008, -1/+3Good luck against the Ravens :)
- sibos, on 12/29/2008, -0/+2Actually, I like Pennington too. He certainly seems like a pretty nice guy, and he hasn't gotten a fair shake so far in his career.
All I was trying to say is that the Jets were at home, and if they had a more consistent (read: normal) quarterback who doesn't just throw up the ball in the crowd of defensive players rather than get sacked (or take a step or two) they could have won. But the fact is the Jets don't have that kind of QB this year, and so it goes. Take away the interception that was run back right away for a TD (since almost no one else in the NFL would have thrown it), and it's a much closer game.
I'm not trying to rip on the Dolphins, I'm just disappointed that (a) my team's season is over (yes, I'll admit it, hence why I'm not talking about any other game from today), but also (b) that Favre is hailed as this great amazing player, when he seems to be more concerned with luckily getting big plays than doing what is sensible for his team. This is a guy who retired, then came back to wear another teams jersey, just because he had something to prove to himself (or because the NYJs have deep pockets), rather than sticking to his word and leaving with dignity last season. And for that, he took his new team to NOT-the-playoffs, while his real home had a losing season.
I'll also add that I honestly wouldn't mind seeing Miami do well in the playoffs, since they're the only ones from our division going. It's just a thing that us pats fans have against Brett. - Wetzilla, on 12/30/2008, -0/+2Brett Favre didn't screw the Pats over. As a Patriots fan I would have loved in the Jets had won and we had gotten to the playoffs, but you can't blame our season ending on the Jets. If we had won one more regular season game we would be in the playoffs. It's no ones fault but the Patriots. That being said, we still had an amazing season, much better than I had thought we would have after Brady got hurt. So even though we didn't make the playoffs, I'm happy with the team we had, and glad that Favre got his ass kicked by the QB he replaced. He should have stayed retired, but no, he needed attention.
- dynamojoe, on 12/29/2008, -0/+2That's just your jealousy talking. It's ok, you can climb on the bandwagon.
