    I think it would be nice if teams were like the Packers, owned by the city.

    But if you extrapolate it further, this is a great idea: sell your asset to the general public and it's 100% tax-free money. The public still gets use/revenue from it.

  • nemrel, on 11/16/2008, -1/+2It's about damn time! Dan Rooney and his son are the only Rooney's left that give a crap about Pittsburgh, the Steelers and their dad's dream/legacy. I will be happy for Dan when everyone signs on the dotted line in December and the NFL gives the deal their sign of approval. The Steelers are truly a one of a kind club. And that's mainly because of Art and Dan's judgment, wisdom and risk-taking style.
