- wignasty, on 12/19/2008, -13/+450Looks like they're playing rugby to me.
- hav1c, on 12/19/2008, -11/+309Observer A is dead.
- inactive, on 12/19/2008, -9/+271This is what happens when you give a basketball team a football.
- inactive, on 12/19/2008, -3/+219lets hope the pros dont see this. advertisers will be pissed if play gos on for more than 10 seconds.
- soupwithafork, on 12/19/2008, -3/+218The announcer goes crazy at the end... oweioajkdlsajdlah LATERAL!! foealonaljnfaoea LATERAL LATERAL LATERAL dsajhfaiouehoanfloeia!!

- LawnMowerKitten, on 12/19/2008, -2/+178To sum it up:
Lateral, lateral, lateral, Lateral, lateral, lateral, Lateral, lateral, lateral, Lateral, lateral, lateral
Game over
Game over
Game over
Game over
Game over
This football game is over - timusca, on 12/19/2008, -2/+177That's not football... it's hot potato.
- shadyacres, on 12/19/2008, -9/+147Boom goes the dynamite!
- zacharytelschow, on 12/19/2008, -3/+112I've seen that before (I believe it happened last year) but its still one of the most amazing football plays I've ever seen. You can notice something new every time; look for the guy sitting on his laurels at the 50 yard line in the background near the middle of the clip.
- STBAT25, on 12/19/2008, -8/+91So was the game over?
- tocsy, on 12/19/2008, -0/+60It's uncanny how well that fits.
- nahsrocketeer75, on 12/19/2008, -1/+57The announcer's call of the play helps make it a classic, too. Still not sure it beats Cal/Stanford and the band on the field for pure "crazy".
- Sornos, on 12/19/2008, -0/+51IT'S A TOUCHDOWN *spit flying everywhere*
- Jikul, on 12/19/2008, -23/+72I think it's handball. The title says it's football, the americans call it football, but the guys on the video didn't touch the ball with a foot ONE ***** TIME!
- inactive, on 12/19/2008, -3/+49nah from my understanding they had another quarter
- i23Photography, on 02/12/2009, -1/+41oh...... my...... GOODNESS!!! it was..... sen...SATIONAL!!!!...... LATERAL!!!!!!
- Retuow, on 12/19/2008, -0/+39Already a classic
- canuck13, on 12/19/2008, -1/+37"The tigers lateral it and keep lateralling it and tehy score and they win and they lateral it."
- twishart, on 12/19/2008, -0/+35Finally, a reference on Digg that I actually get.
- havek23, on 12/19/2008, -3/+38Hmm... it's like they were afraid to just lay the people out! Even if they lateral it you can deck them within a few seconds, why wasn't that happening? All the defense was just kinda shuffling their feet, blocking, and watching.
- Shadic, on 12/19/2008, -0/+32If it's a lateral (Thrown backwards) and it hits the ground, it counts as a fumble, not ending the play.
- plainOldFool, on 12/19/2008, -4/+35@biff: From wikipedia, so take it for what it's worth:
"While it is widely believed that the word "football" (or "foot ball") originated in reference to the action of the foot kicking a ball, there is a rival explanation, which has it that football originally referred to a variety of games in medieval Europe, which were played on foot.[1] These games were usually played by peasants, as opposed to the horse-riding sports often played by aristocrats. While there is no conclusive evidence for this explanation, the word football has always implied a variety of games played on foot, not just those that involved kicking a ball. In some cases, the word football has even been applied to games which have specifically outlawed kicking the ball." - inactive, on 12/19/2008, -4/+30Until you do all those laterals AND dodge a band, you can't claim craziest ever...
- groo68, on 12/19/2008, -1/+26Must have been inspiration for the play.
- bubba9999, on 12/19/2008, -1/+24yer missing a "touchdown" after the last "lateral", but before the first "game over".
- inactive, on 12/19/2008, -1/+23This kind of ***** doesnt work in the Pros, you would never see that many laterals without someone getting a pick or batting it down. It would be a reach to even see this many in D1. Better players would be in position and have those open players covered.
- biffnix, on 12/19/2008, -16/+36No, soccer is called football, and properly so, in pretty much everywhere on the planet. Except the United States. Go figure.
- tconnect80, on 12/19/2008, -8/+28Just makes me want to watch some good ol' Rugby union, every play is like this, except the tacklers don't suck
- suprememilo, on 12/20/2008, -3/+23Too soon.
- centran, on 12/19/2008, -0/+20do you have your sound on? It takes any youtube video and removes the sound. It replaces the sound with the Benny Hill Theme song. It is amazing of how many videos are made better simply by having that song play.
- jba68, on 12/19/2008, -0/+19lol that guy just quit.
He must have thought, well someone else will make a play.
Way not to be a team player. - pintomp3, on 12/19/2008, -2/+20we can tell from all the padding.
- MrBabyManSTFU, on 12/19/2008, -2/+20http://james.nerdiphythesoul.com/bennyhillifier/?i ...
I hate myself... - ZenFu, on 12/19/2008, -0/+16Probably this one.
http://james.nerdiphythesoul.com/bennyhillifier/?i ... - wbeavis, on 12/20/2008, -0/+15But did you see the dancing bear?
- dmadiedo, on 12/19/2008, -3/+17Yes it's so old!!!!!!
I'm SO tired of the people that rates content based on its age... "***** the pyramids, they are soooo old". People!!! a lot of people hasn't seen the content, even if its old.
(PS: Grammar Nazis, Englush isn my first language, so please be gentle). - goober1473, on 12/19/2008, -3/+16It's closer to Rugby League in style than Union. However there were one or with breaks which players could have scored early in the play. It's clear that none of the players are used to doing that and the defense had no idea what to do. It would be interesting to see what a squad trained to play rugby (maybe with a couple of rugby players) could do, the change from a fixed play to a free flowing play with such ball movement could seriously trouble a good few American Football teams I would have thought.
- schmons, on 12/19/2008, -2/+15and that is why he plays d3 football
- naner, on 12/19/2008, -0/+13It's like Don Vito announcing a football game.
- Syphon911, on 12/20/2008, -1/+14And on this day, a new meme was born
- fxu1989, on 12/19/2008, -3/+16You don't punch the ball in volleyball. Maybe you should play it before talking out of your ass.
volley: the flight of a ball before it touches the ground
-dictionary.com
And what's the objective of volleyball? Make the ball touch the ground on the opposite court. - RubberChicken24, on 12/19/2008, -8/+20*sigh* If only rugby were more popular in the US...
Look at some of the proper gameplay and tries such as this:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3sFHBYPDYg8
then watch the armoured prats in the "football" video again.
You tell me which is the better sport. - Lixie, on 12/20/2008, -1/+13Try beating them in a sprint. It's different conditioning.
- RUBallsingMe, on 12/20/2008, -0/+12Obviously the frequency of the broadcaster's bantering was 430 Hz
- dirtyfrog, on 12/19/2008, -0/+12that would be the titans versus the bills. they called it "the music city miracle"
- dondada619, on 12/19/2008, -1/+13Without the band on the field, this doesn't come close to "The Play."
- EricAnderton, on 12/20/2008, -0/+11Best use of that link so far.
- JCEEZ, on 12/19/2008, -1/+12for every time this play works, there are 10000 times it doesnt.
- velocity92c, on 12/19/2008, -1/+12That play never would have made it in a Div 1 or NFL game, several miracle no calls from the refs.
