- malacor, on 10/11/2007, -5/+23Goad me all you want with the Romo blunder, I'm a Dallas Cowboy fan for life!
- drewpost, on 10/11/2007, -2/+16Mate - Shut the hell up. I don't know why there is this obsession for trolls on both sides of an american football, football (soccer), rugby etc conversation to come in and be like your sport sucks and mine is better. This has NOTHING to do with rugby so why do you feel the need to winge? I love American Football, Football AND rugby BC I enjoy them each for their own individual attributes as sporting events and I don't spend my whole time thinking I can't watch one or the other simply bc I am from a certain place and therefore I think I have to put the other sports not from my area down.
- usuallyquietbob, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12ummm... yeah nice try, but i think the word is endzone. not inzone. inzone sounds like a 90's restaurant
- gldfshnpcklejar, on 10/11/2007, -6/+18I like them simply because I live in Texas and they were good when I was younger. No other reason. That's why.
- jsowder18, on 10/11/2007, -3/+14cheerleaders, beer, guys beating the ***** out of each other, Coors Light "twins" ... **yawn**
/saracasm - coolant, on 10/11/2007, -4/+14How bout dem COWBOYS?!
- k3yFrame, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8For those that haven't seen the new stadium plans....
http://stadium.dallascowboys.com/ - FriedTurkey, on 10/11/2007, -5/+12Knowing where they built the new stadium in Dallas, the traffic will keep people there until 2012.
- loneraven, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7I think you mean 2012
- loneraven, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9A hometeam has never even made an appearance in their own stadium as far as I'm aware.
I'm hoping dallas will be the first. - osirisothedead, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Indeed. Arlington is the largest city in the US without public transportation and the only roadwork improvement that I'm aware of is a new SH360/I30 interchange.
- robbh66, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Actually, yes. One Super Bowl pumps approximately 250million into the local economy- and that's just one event.
Now take that the stadium will typically have a lifespan of 30-40 years and... - Chewie67, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Wow. The ENVY is palpable (look it up, Eagles fan. Dictionary.com)
Regardless of how you feel about the Cowboys, the new stadium looks amazing. Should make for a great Superbowl host. - LordofShadows, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4You would be surprised how crappy the roads get in arlington when you get a little ways from collins and cooper.
- izzyb412, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4That will be nicest Stadium in sports when it's done. Makes me wish I still lived in Dallas so I could see it.
- hightower77, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Wow...I guess going to the biggest game in sports outside of the world cup final for football (soccer) or the Olympics doesn't appeal to you. I will be trying my damnedest to go to the game here in DFW regardless of the teams. Just so I can say I've been.
- marklar69, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4YAY looks like its time to hack some press passes and get in free :P
- pixelmixer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4there would have been a legitimate chance if indy would have been chosen to host the super bowl.
- hightower77, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3@FrostySol
Made me laugh. I was thinking The Vet in Phili. But they blew that ***** up. - FrostySol, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3The Meadowlands?
- lateralus, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Sweet. And Dallas will be playing in it too. Still sucks to be an Eagles fan. hahah
- Sheetz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3exactly, just because im from the united states doesn't mean i can't (and i really do) like futbol and football
- AceTracer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Over half the Super Bowls have been hosted in New Orleans, Miami, or LA. Miami just hosted, and will be hosting again soon. Chances are, if it sucks to be outside where you live in January/February, you're not getting a Super Bowl.
- jshiflet, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4totally...they haven't even started on new bridgework that's supposed to help "alleviate" traffic once the new stadium is open (and they've progressed quite a bit on the stadium)
- hightower77, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3@loneraven
Closest there was: LA Rams back in the day playing in it when the game was in Pasadena. Super Bowl XIV. - pixelmixer, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5dugg you down for being an ass about it (twice).
- michaeldillon, on 10/11/2007, -6/+8Let me guess, you're a Bills Fan.
- Oracle95, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2...and the 8 year loan on the Ballpark in Arlington was paid off in 5 years and been pure profit since then?
Too bad Tom HICKs is the owner of the Rangers. Man makes George Steinbrenner look like a genius. - zider, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2This is crap! Indianapolis is in a much better position to hold 2011 Super Bowl. Once again the smaller market gets screwed.
- hoosierplew, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I'm partial to the Colts' new stadium, Lucas Oil Stadium:
http://www.in.gov/iscba/media/renderings.html - luvjones, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1the picture of the new stadium looks fantastic!!
- mutatron, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I always thought they chose the venue according to the inverse probability of the home team being in the Super Bowl. But Dallas isn't that much of a long shot for 2011.
- FearAndLoathing, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1They have won 5 of 8......
- loboforestal, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3Has home team ever won the superbowl?
- ngandy, on 10/11/2007, -5/+5Hosting a Super Bowl?
How about we host a playoff game first...
Then we should worry about WINNING a playoff game...
Why the hell would I care to go to the new stadium to watch other teams play? It's like getting jacked up for the Super Bowl in Houston and KNOWING the Texans weren't going to be there.
I'd much rather watch the Cowboys win 5 more rings than watch a Super Bowl in the new stadium between 2 teams that aren't even based out of Texas. - robbh66, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3Dallas deserved it loads more than any other team outside of Pittsburgh.
- MQuart, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2Jerry World: 1
Everyone else: 0 - BrokenWind, on 10/11/2007, -4/+3All of you using the S...bowl word without permission better knock it off!
you have been warned..... - Davebo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0"Now take that the stadium will typically have a lifespan of 30-40 years and..."
Yeah, like the Astrodome. Which the county still owes over 60 million in bonds on and they can't demolish it or renovate it due to asbestos.
250 million into the local economy? Do the math. That's 4 tax dollars for every one private dollar tossed into the economy.
And what effect will those hotel and rental car taxes have on the economy over the next 20 years? Want some sweet convention business? Well, don't bother building that new convention center. - hightower77, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2Yeah, but New England should run the AFC this year.
- jsballardx, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2Indy deserves to have Peyton Mannings misshapen mumbling head rammed up their collective asses.
I hate all the Mannings including Archie but I really hate Peyton. - benjaminooo, on 10/11/2007, -4/+2Indy deserves a super bowl for sure.. I hope we can put in a bid for 2012. It's the perfect city for this, everything is very close and convenient. The only draw back is the weather, but obviously other cities that have cold weather in February have hosted the Super Bowl.
- hightower77, on 10/11/2007, -6/+4@fober
You a gints or jets fan? Oh wait, lemme guess, Patriots? - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1I'm tryed of this stupid ***** that is being posted on Digg. And has anyone notice how hard it is to actually get a story dugg AT ALL. I want the old digg back!
- k3yFrame, on 10/11/2007, -6/+2double post. digg down.
- Riptor, on 10/11/2007, -4/+0Yeah, Super Bowl should be in Indy, because Dallas blows.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -10/+6The new stadium is in Arlington, you retard.
- metalfalsetto, on 10/11/2007, -6/+2"Cowboys Fans - You're Hosting the Super Bowl in 2011"
So there are no Cowboys fans outside the Dallas area? -
