Colts acknowledge Peyton Manning had 2nd knee surgery
sportingnews.com — One surgery wasn't enough to fix Peyton Manning's left knee. Colts coach Tony Dungy confirmed (after nearly two months of deflecting questions) that Manning was operated on a second time before returning to the field in late August....

- econoar, on 10/14/2008, -1/+15The Colts are always really secretive with their injuries.
Peyton looked like the old Peyton this last week though.- Lumbeekid06, on 10/14/2008, -2/+7you know who's secretive about there injuries? The patriots, before he actually got injured Tom Brady Showed up on the questionable list since he started.
BTW The NFL is not as fun to me unless the colts are a good team, and the colts are not even my favorite team.- cougar3429, on 10/14/2008, -1/+3The Patriots aren't "secretive" they just refuse to play by the rules, taking advantage of the "questionable" loop-hole.

- 55Test55, on 10/14/2008, -4/+13Um, why? What's the point in not admitting it?
Anyway, GO COLTS- cgruber, on 10/14/2008, -0/+3Then the bookies--err sorry fantasy players would know.
- orthodoxDrew, on 10/14/2008, -0/+4maybe so a defense isn't assuming the passing game will struggle, which it did
- mroberts, on 10/14/2008, -0/+2Peyton didn't want to announce the 2nd surgery until he had fully recovered.
- 2Pharcyded, on 10/14/2008, -3/+3they just wanted to rub it in the ravens' faces
- somedudemanguy, on 10/14/2008, -3/+23As long as no more idiots claim that Eli is the better Manning. Eli played as well in about 8 games as Peyton has for a decade.
- PhillAholic, on 10/14/2008, -1/+2Just because they are brother's doesn't mean they are identical. They play for different teams, with different teammates, with different plays, different coaching, and play a different style.
It's still pretty amazing that there are two starting Top Quarterbacks in the NFL that are brothers. Much less that their father was also a starting NFL Quarterback. I think we can all agree that the Manning's are doing something right to reach this level. - jpjandrade, on 10/14/2008, -0/+4Amen. That's kind of embarassing, actually, seeing the MNF pool showing that HALF of the voters think Eli is better than Peyton. I mean, no matter if you hate the Colts, if you love the Giants, or anything in between, there absolutely no denial that Peyton owns Eli. I don't know about the future, about the next five years, but saying, today, that Eli is better than Peyton is pure *****. I mean, look at their stats. Look at their average rating. For Christ sake, look how many 4k+ yards season Peyton had and how many Eli had, or how many perfect (rating wise) games they both had.
- Guy88, on 10/14/2008, -1/+1Eli didn't even play that well in those 8 games. Sports media drives me absolutely insane. Somehow a team that's carried to and wins the superbowl on the strength of its amazing defense and front four becomes a story about how Eli is suddenly a top 5 QB. This team won the superbowl DESPITE Eli's lackluster games, and yet until this week we're reading stories about how Eli has surpassed Peyton, and how the Giants are a possible dynasty in the making (Mike Freeman, idiot writer of CBS sportsline) based largely on having a great QB. 24/7 sports coverage is honestly going to ruin sports for me.

- xpose, on 10/14/2008, -10/+2Why is this on the front page on Tuesday? OLD. The news now is that Kitna might be put on IR or traded. http://www.fantasysp.com/nfl/ Things get even worse for those lions :(
- somedudemanguy, on 10/14/2008, -1/+9People in the whole world who care about the Lions: 1.
- PhillAholic, on 10/14/2008, -0/+3Remind me again why the Lions haven't invested in a solid QB option in the draft?

Like the others said, you might want to use your time in a more viable way.
We don't give a ***** about your 401k. It didn't hurt us.
Stop trying to be an alarmist. You're a little to late with the info you provided.

- atmmac, on 10/14/2008, -3/+2this sure has been a weird year in hte NFL whoever thought the colts and pats wouldnt be on top? it seems to me like every team is basically even.
- trdrstv, on 10/14/2008, -0/+10Nah, there's always a race for the Bottom, usually involving the Lions...
This year the Bengals seem to be a contender. - Fedaykin311, on 10/14/2008, -4/+4Let me guess: You have only been a football fan for about 8 years, right?
- atmmac, on 10/21/2008, -0/+0Actually ive had season tickets to the pats since 1994.... good one though.
- alarmist, on 10/14/2008, -0/+4it's very refreshing
and with tony romo's injury, giants getting blown out by browns, it makes things even more interesting

- clickwir, on 10/14/2008, -14/+1Must be a slow news day. Sports are not news.
- somedudemanguy, on 10/14/2008, -1/+9no one forced you to read this.
- Eldorian, on 10/14/2008, -1/+9Then remove sports from your list and quit being a moron.
- kbeeveer46, on 10/14/2008, -0/+3They announced this during the Colts game on Sunday. They said it was to fix an infection the first surgery created.
- cgruber, on 10/14/2008, -0/+2Surgery to deal with an infection sounds bad. Although I'm medical stupid (or just plain stupid) so maybe its common.
- alexkball, on 10/14/2008, -1/+3News that would have helped my fantasy team 5 weeks ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Wreckage, on 10/14/2008, -2/+4I was calling him a lazy bastard for not showing up for pre-season and playing like crap for 5 games, so maybe this story is in response to all my emails to Peyton@Manning.com
- warEagllzz, on 10/14/2008, -1/+2fantasy fraud?
- fszymanski, on 10/14/2008, -0/+2It sure has been a crazy year for football, fantasy is just killing me. I stuck by payton manning and now he is showing up to play. Its about damn time!
- marcduke, on 10/14/2008, -0/+1I stole him from my brother for Willie Parker a few weeks back....and no, I don't feel bad about it, not one bit.
- marcduke, on 10/14/2008, -1/+3You sure that second surgery wasn't for his ongoing fight with Foreheaditis?
- Markb3489, on 10/14/2008, -0/+2qoute of the week by my friend "you're leaving cus your pats are losing? There are LIONS fans out there"
- evo8ftw, on 10/14/2008, -11/+2The Colts, Peyton, and their billion dollar stadium all suck.
- evo8ftw, on 10/14/2008, -4/+2thanks bandwagons
- barney74, on 10/14/2008, -4/+2You are correct in calling the bandwagoners. And May the Curse of The L.O.S. (Lucas Oil Stadium) continue.

- RodgerE1, on 10/14/2008, -2/+1Go Steelers
- glockman69, on 10/14/2008, -0/+1Go Pats! Matt C FTW!
- IrishCharm, on 10/15/2008, -0/+0The reason that a lot of teams don't like to divulge this information is because players would focus in on that injury. Even though people say that they have respect for another player, doesn't mean they won't target a weakness on the opposing team. I fear for Payton if he starts to get the Colts back up to par, if he starts beating a team 45 - 0, pretty soon someone is going to say, "He needs to be put out of the game." Target? The Knee.
