- Rudymoman, on 11/09/2009, -0/+69I'm sure the Raiders will find a place for him.
- jsuther, on 11/09/2009, -2/+38So the four times he was arrested since 2003 for beating women was ok, but calling someone a fag on twitter is the reason for getting canned. That's what did it, really? ***** you KC, get your priorities straight.
- Pentay, on 11/09/2009, -0/+32But Brandon Marshall can keep running around catching footballs after beating women... I'm all for condemning this sort of behavior, but how do ***** like Marshall get away with physical abuse.
- kenyan, on 11/09/2009, -0/+32When asked what he felt about the situation, Johnson said "I think it's gay. I didn't do anything wrong."
- fadetoone, on 11/09/2009, -1/+26God damned Harley riders...
- klshel, on 11/09/2009, -9/+32'Bout time.
- ahhell, on 11/09/2009, -1/+20That's some Kanye West level of douchebaggery.
- PrismoFillusion, on 11/09/2009, -1/+19Yes, blame Twitter and not LJ...
- IamNomad, on 11/09/2009, -8/+25this proves once again that not only is twitter worthless, but it get people into trouble.
- NLaBruiser, on 11/09/2009, -1/+16Chiefs fan here.....this is the best news I've seen all season.
He didn't break Priest Holmes rushing record. Priest is still the man. All is well in KC (well, aside from our football team sucking worse than a $2 hooker named windsock...) - inactive, on 11/09/2009, -1/+15I want to go get a part-time job at WalMart just to run around yelling "***** *****" at every person I see. Also, I'll tell my boss to go fester in some ***** if they say anything to me about it.
- ameba, on 11/09/2009, -0/+14im sure by saying KC he meant the franchise, not the city.
- beerhound, on 11/09/2009, -0/+13This isn't the reason he got canned either, it's just the excuse. He was still a productive back when those other incidents happened. The **anything is forgiven as long as you play well** mentality is the sad but all to prevalent attitude in televised sports.
- inactive, on 11/09/2009, -0/+13Social progressives are just now discovering that the black community is more hostile to gays than whites, they even denied it when Prop 8 passed with a huge black and hispanic voting base and had to blame the out of state Mormons and their TV ads for it's passing. To them it is incomprehensible that a group of people who experienced discrimination and prejudice can show prejudices themselves.
- ChanM, on 11/09/2009, -2/+15Brandon Marshall can still produce on the field. LJ has been used up and is now rendered useless.
- inactive, on 11/09/2009, -3/+15OMG I can't even make a gay slur without fear of losing my job!
OMG I can't even make a racial slur without fear of losing my job!
What a horrible world!
/s - chillypacman, on 11/09/2009, -1/+13Coincidence does not imply causality.
- mcwoodward01, on 11/09/2009, -0/+12What a moron! he said some stupid stuff, possibly career ending.
But on the other hand, how does Michael Vick and Brandon Marshall get back in with their teams. Last time I checked, actions speak louder than words! Although his words were stupid, hateful, unnecessary, and homophobic, he didn't beat a woman or kill innocent animals. Certainly not defending him or saying the team wasn't justified in his release - he definitely deserved it. I am just pissed Vick is back! - swagv, on 11/09/2009, -0/+10What a stupid assh*%#. He lost his multi-million-dollar a year job over Twitter.
Dumbass. - reuscel, on 11/09/2009, -1/+10He's free to say whatever he wants, but the First Amendment doesn't excuse him from being held accountable for the dumb-ass things he says.
- inactive, on 11/09/2009, -3/+12So if I just use the word ***** nonchalantly but I'm careful to not say it to a black person, there's no problem?
- inactive, on 11/09/2009, -0/+8They're the placebo of the customer relations world.
- FormerBabby, on 11/09/2009, -3/+11Thats not acceptable behavior in society. I'd get fired if I did the same thing.
- defteats, on 11/09/2009, -0/+8He has a history of misogynistic behavior and hitting/spitting on women as well.
"Johnson has been arrested four times since 2003 on various assault charges against women. In 2003, he was arrested for felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor domestic battery for waving a gun at his then-girlfriend, during an argument at his home. The charges were dropped when Johnson agreed to participate in a domestic violence diversion program. In 2005, he was again arrested for assault when a woman accused Johnson of pushing her to the ground, but the case was dropped after the alleged victim failed to appear in court for three different hearings.
His third arrest for assault came on February 24, 2008, after allegedly pushing a woman's head at a nightclub on February 24.[18] On October 10, 2008, Johnson was arrested for the fourth time and charged with one count of non-aggravated assault for allegedly spitting a drink in a woman's face at a Kansas City nightclub on Oct. 11.[19] The woman involved, Ashley Stewart, has since filed a civil suit against Johnson, accusing him of negligence, assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligent infliction of emotional distress.[20]"

Also, Vick spent 15 months in Leavenworth, a high security prison. - inactive, on 11/09/2009, -1/+9He is "free" to say whatever he wants.
And his employer is "free" to fire him because of it.
Freedom of speech is protection from the GOVERNMENT, not from people or companies from firing you.
Logic fail. - inactive, on 11/09/2009, -1/+9Petitions don't do anything.
- Fleagleman, on 11/09/2009, -3/+11Okay, okay. I believe you, Kansas City. And I support your decision. But you know as well as I do (even more so) that the NFL is a business. If you weren't one of the worst teams in the league (if Cleveland ever gets better, you WILL be the worst), and LJ was still at the top of his game, you wouldn't be releasing anyone. All I'm saying is, don't try and give us the impression that your decision was based solely on a moral and ethical grounds. This was a business decision, too, and we all know that the business part of it takes precedence over anything else.
Minnesota wouldn't release Adrian Peterson if he called the president a *****. - mdinitto, on 11/09/2009, -0/+7is there a playoff contender that could use a back like this? New England? San Diego? Philly? Arizona?
- FirstCuts, on 11/09/2009, -4/+11+1. This was way overdue. Don't know why they bothered with the suspension.
- usern4me, on 11/09/2009, -0/+7I guess the Chiefs' fans got what they wanted.
- sooner82, on 11/09/2009, -5/+11The real reason he got dropped is because the fanbase didn't want to see him set the franchise rushing record.
- cheddaro, on 11/09/2009, -1/+7LiveJournal? People still use that thing?
- larthallor, on 11/09/2009, -1/+7I just hope he doesn't get an XBox Live account. I'd hate to have to listen to that kind of talk there.
- atroxodisse, on 11/09/2009, -2/+8Actually there is scientific proof that it's genetic. You are a bigot. Why does it matter whether or not the person was born with their lifestyle choice? It isn't hurting anyone. Leave them to their "choice".
- DetpackJump, on 11/09/2009, -0/+6Actually, LJ got what he wanted. Now he has a chance to go to a different team and resurrect his career
- Eldorian, on 11/09/2009, -0/+6He should have been sacked a long time ago. Ever since he got his major contract he's been worthless averaging like 2 yards per carry.
- serif69, on 11/09/2009, -2/+8Your statement disproves itself. If it gets people like LJ into trouble, then it isn't worthless.
- OasisR123, on 11/09/2009, -0/+630 years-old, he plays like if he was 38 already, I thought that was his age
- defteats, on 11/09/2009, -0/+6They'll regret it. He is one of the slowest backs in the league and falls down at the line of scrimmage all the time, not tackled, falls.
- inactive, on 11/09/2009, -1/+6Minorities are some of the worst racist and hateful people around.
Watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfW9inRkTpU - Alli3388, on 11/09/2009, -0/+5Was is EVER acceptable for members of a major organization and spew out criticism of his boss and publicly call people *****?? I don't think so!!
- Takfam, on 11/09/2009, -1/+6Grown men don't need to use words like "*****" in adult conversation. Grown boys do.
- HotRats76, on 11/09/2009, -0/+5Yeah actually it was, at one point more OK to say such things. The good ole days to some.. The world has changed a whole lot over the past 10-20 years.. He is still a dumbass, and it looks like he wanted to get fired or let go.
- dumptaker, on 11/09/2009, -1/+6Why the hell would anyone make a "lifestyle choice" to bet ridiculed, beat up, and discriminated against? I'm not sure I see your logic here.
- jdbholmes, on 11/09/2009, -0/+5They released him because he sucks this year and they need to make room for the salary cap .
- Sethbacca, on 11/09/2009, -1/+6He was allowed the freedom to say what he wanted, he now has to take responsibility for his speech. Freedom of speech does not mean a lack of responsibility for your speech. Grow up and learn the difference.

2) Given that homosexuality is finally being accepted into societies around the world (the number of places that it is illegal to be homosexual is falling, equality for homosexual relationships is rising) then calling it deviant is no more accurate than calling a mixed-race relationship deviant. Comparing a consensual same-sex relationship to a non-consensual cross-species sexual act is a pathetic straw-man.
3) You are entitled to your opinion. The hate crime bill is intended to prevent people from inciting violence against people based on some perceived difference in their lifestyle.
4) No crime was committed here. No criminal charges have been brought. His employer found his statements objectionable (regarding both coach and his use of the epithet) and exercised their legal right to release him from his contract. Again, you are raising a straw-man.
Did I miss anything? - CraigHwk, on 11/09/2009, -0/+5Plus he didn't beat Priest's record. He was what, 75 yards short of it? Serves him right.
