- iSeven, on 01/04/2009, -8/+115SPROLES BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- tablelegs, on 01/04/2009, -8/+73Serves the Colts right for taking tons of penalties in OT. Three free first downs? Hello, discipline.
- TheDougem, on 01/04/2009, -4/+49Watched the whole game, and loved it. Although I'm an avid chargers fan, I'll admit to being in utter disbelief at the end of the game. First they win the coin toss, then the referees start loving 'em - and.. and.. they scored a touchdown under pressure! WUT??? That was an enormous stroke of luck - except for the last brilliant play. A well fought game.
- Corbinwaltz, on 01/04/2009, -11/+48My little 5'6" Sprolie Pollie probably just retired Tony Dungy. Great Game, Glad I was there.
- pacificislandr4, on 01/04/2009, -2/+35It's obvious why San Diego won the game: Tails never fails.
- sloppychris, on 01/04/2009, -3/+31We played a drinking game during the broadcast, every time his name was mentioned everyone in the room yelled "SPROLES!" and took a swig.
This game involved a lot more drinking than usual. - sloppychris, on 01/04/2009, -6/+32At least Peyton put up a better fight in San Diego than his crybaby little brother.
- middlecon, on 01/04/2009, -3/+29They 'took' penalties? Maybe 'committed' is the word you are looking for.
- dolanman, on 01/04/2009, -4/+29San Diiiieeegoooo Super Chaaaargers!
- filldeviant, on 01/04/2009, -4/+27Bad night, here. Good job Sproles; you practically trampled over us. :(
- vtbarrera, on 02/03/2009, -1/+23They won their division. Do you know how the NFL works at all?
- pamon, on 01/04/2009, -9/+29The Charger Nation rolls on. Thanks to denver for giving us the West. Peyton hates playing in SD. Loved watching him cry like a baby on the sidelines. NFL OT is something to be reviewed though...
- pandaexpress79, on 01/04/2009, -12/+31The Chargers were the better team...they would have won it by a lot more if it wasn't for a few mistakes
- billjimbob, on 01/04/2009, -1/+19That was a crystal clear facemask, I don't see how anyone could argue that.
- misreto, on 01/04/2009, -10/+28Sproles is so effin awesome! I am a huge huge Chargers fan and I am soooo glad they beat the colts. I was on the edge of my seat the whole entire time.
- Fogdelune, on 01/04/2009, -1/+15That little dude has heart.
- Boing, on 01/04/2009, -1/+14Don't forget the love for the punter, Scifres. He did an amazing job last night.
- Soave, on 01/04/2009, -6/+18Who else was at the game?? That was such an amazing game to be at. Go Chargers!!
- shirtninjay, on 01/04/2009, -2/+14By winning a division. Chargers are the best team in the AFC West and handled their division. By rule, divisional leaders play at home regardless if the the wild card has a better record.
- Billions, on 01/04/2009, -1/+11Rivers said that? Really, or are you just making that up?
I searched Google and I can't find that quote anywhere but in your comment. More info please.
If he did say something like that, maybe you're hearing that the wrong way? Maybe he was throwing himself on the fire, saying he can't place blame on anyone else for poor play other than himself. I think you may be quoting that out of context, I'd like to hear the question that prompted that answer.
Every time I see him interviewed he's talked about the team and others' contribution. I've seen him act immature but you're going overboard. - dolanman, on 01/04/2009, -1/+11I noticed that the refs really didn't just start to love us. Indianapolis was just making terrible, terrible mistakes.
- billjimbob, on 01/04/2009, -1/+11All of the penalties in OT were called correctly... maybe something like that D-line defensive holding call happens every play and usually isn't called, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be flagged when a ref does see it.
- misreto, on 01/04/2009, -1/+10The TANK!
- Soave, on 01/04/2009, -1/+10Like 2-3 easy interceptions that they dropped.
- pacificislandr4, on 01/04/2009, -0/+9Or the two turnovers in the endzone.
- patriotsfan82, on 01/04/2009, -1/+9Tony Dungy claimed he loved the system the way it is and that nothing needs to be changed.
Therefor, GO CHARGERS! - Tekmazter, on 01/04/2009, -2/+10It's funny to hear someone defend the Colt's on holding. Especially, considering it was the Colt's who whined a few years back when NE ran them right out of the playoffs with the same tactics. The Colt's are the very organization that brought the whole 5 yard bump, holding, pass interference etc... back to forefront.
- mugicha, on 01/04/2009, -0/+8Seriously he was on fire tonight.
- inactive, on 01/04/2009, -4/+11Man they gotta change the rules of overtime, college rules are more fair.
- Billions, on 01/04/2009, -0/+7That's still one round further than the Cowboys though, right?
- wheelerlt, on 01/04/2009, -1/+8did anyone else catch the sign in the seats that said:
Manning - MVP
Cutler - Pro Bowl
Rivers beat both of 'em!!
PRICELESS - TheDougem, on 01/04/2009, -1/+8The facemask was legit though. And it cost them the game.
- swik, on 01/04/2009, -5/+11Has nothing to do with the refs being one of the most flag tossing in the game. Some were obvious calls some were...questionable.
- JazzCatDRP, on 01/04/2009, -0/+6He was 10 pounds at birth, and thus dubbed "tank."
- inactive, on 01/04/2009, -2/+8That MVP did better than Rivers.
- Billions, on 01/04/2009, -2/+8How does the league MVP get flustered when the defense repeatedly shifts around at :10 on the play clock? How could the Colts commit those costly penalties in a playoff game? Will Peyton cut his hair, finally?
We all have questions. - swgc5, on 01/04/2009, -0/+5Losing is better than winning?
- misreto, on 01/04/2009, -2/+7Someone's retarded.
- nematzz, on 01/04/2009, -12/+17Good. My Super Bowl pick is still alive.
- mugicha, on 01/04/2009, -3/+8And Spoles fumbling it in the Colts endzone. And Rivers throwing an interception in the Colts endzone. And the Chargers all standing around not even paying attention when the play started, basically handing the Colts a free touchdown. But other than that, they were on fire. Seriously, it was like 2 games. On the one hand, overall they played better than the Colts. But on the other hand they made a few really serious mistakes. And they still won. I can't believe it but I'm stoked. Go Chargers!
- smacksaw, on 01/04/2009, -1/+6That whole game was poorly officiated, but there were several calls against the Colts that could have/should have been called. It could have been worse.
- jayrok, on 01/04/2009, -1/+6I didn't think the fashion was that dramatic - jerseys are fairly standard.
- LoboJpm, on 01/04/2009, -0/+5What a game!!! I give plenty of credit to Sproles, he did carry the team's Offense.
Also don't forget Scifres, who had the best day I have ever seen for a Punter. That last one that he dropped on the 1 to set up the sack was ridiculous.
And some credit to Ron Rivera and the D. By FAR the best game they played all year right when they needed it.
Hopefully Rivers, who had a great season, got his bad game out of the way and they can pick it up next round. The O-line gets some blame for Rivers performance, and that makes Sproles' contribution even more amazing.
Go CHARGERS!!!! - flair1, on 01/04/2009, -0/+5Billions, I agree with you. I call *****.
- ichbeineinrcg, on 01/04/2009, -0/+5I can't see why Dungy would take Dallas.
- inactive, on 01/04/2009, -0/+5Stop it.
/Lions Fan - JazzCatDRP, on 01/04/2009, -1/+6I watched Sproles rip through defenses when he was at K-State. Everyone said he couldn't do it at the next level...he proved every last one of them wrong! 328 total yards!
- nharpe, on 01/04/2009, -0/+4I seriously think the Colts would have won this game if LT was healthy and Sproles was on the sideline more. LT is one of the greatest players ever, and no, their team is not better off without him. I do however think he is an easier matchup for the Colts style of D. The Colts D line is super fast and aggressive, and they run right past that little bastard on the way to the backfield. Once he gets into the secondary, he is gone.
- Billions, on 01/04/2009, -0/+4It's a funny year, but that's the way the league's divisions work, hater.
- inactive, on 01/04/2009, -0/+4No *****, way to step up to the plate when LT is taken out.
