- iluvspokane, on 10/12/2007, -5/+73Best game in College Bowl History!
- kyoung989, on 10/12/2007, -3/+49Wow!! Some of the best executed trick plays under pressure in college football history.
Hook-and-Ladder, Run-Pass Option, Statue of Liberty...
Only thing missing was the Annexation of Puerto Rico. - bSimms, on 10/12/2007, -2/+45I was having a heart attack and I am not a fan of either team! Wow!
- kosmoX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+33That was the greatest college football game I've ever seen.
- ktchpmn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31here is an link to an article with some actual content about the game rather than a lame blog post.
http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/recap?gid=200701010024 - kosmoX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27Boise State player just proposed to his girlfriend on camera.
- 1310nm, on 10/12/2007, -4/+23That
was
the
best
game
EVER!!!!
I'm real happy to see OU get upset, especially after all the trash talk leading up to the bowl about BSU being a 2nd rate team, having an easy schedule, etc. - Screwy1138, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19I liked the second player's comments, they should be happy with their season, their bowl win, and their deserved respect. He was classy. I really hope his g/f really does want to marry him... she was practically forced into saying yes when he proposed because of the situation. Sweet if she does though.
- phprock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18Amazing final play. Behind the back hand off after the fake pass!
- Shadar, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21Same. I'm not a fan of either team. I was bored and decided to watch the 2nd half... WOW. What a game.
I was cheering for Boise by the end, they worked so hard for it. I love crazy plays and Boise certainly had em lined up. - morem, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17Possibly one of the best Bowl games EVER!!!
- econoar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17Best college football game that I've ever personally watched.
- weeklywordnews, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18Boise State called some of the gutsiest plays I've ever seen and they payed off.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18By the way, Michigan lost...and several digg submissions were made, but they didn't get that many diggs...and all of the people saying that Michigan deserved to play an even better team (Ohio State) seem awkwardly absent. Digg me down if you wish, but the people that said that Michigan deserved a chance in the national championship were being annoyingly rude and cocky...and WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
- Shadar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Definitely one of the best. Best last 4 minutes of a game I've ever seen.
- Screwy1138, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15LOL! Talk about pressure, that poor cheerleader! (Her bf BSU player proposed to her while getting interviewed on national television)
- crimsonl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Undefeated and they beat OU, of course it would be nice to give BSU a shot.
- kerrs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12I just watched the last play; was amazing.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Well, let's see that on the field then! Oklahoma was supposed to blow Boise out of the water. And gimme a break. I don't want to hear anyone talk about how one team is GOING to or MIGHT or WOULD blow out another team in a bowl game, let alone an undefeated team. Put it on the field and let them actually do the blowing out rather than listening to fans blow hot air.
Stoops got "outcoached" by 1) a first-year head coach and 2) that same coach's back-up QBs. Oh how I can't stand Bobby Stoops. Here's to ya Bobby! I am sure his 3+ million dollars will help him forget tonight. 3 million to coach college football while you have 60+ guys out there getting their heads bashed in for about $20-25 grand in benefits. Nice. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Seriously...now that Ian Johnson proposed (congrats Ian!) when does Disney get the rights to turn the '06 BSU season into a movie?
- wingnut21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Anyone wanna youtube a highlight reel?
- livejamie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11digg is full of all different topics, if your closed mind can't handle it then move on to the next story. the rest of us will be entertained by some pure, no-nonsense amazing action that is bcs college football.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11That game was probably one of the greatest games I have ever seen, and I watch a lot of sport games. And not just in football but across the board of all sports. That game had so much excitement, so many amazing plays! This is a game you talk about 5 years down the road, I'm so glad I saw it.
And to top it off, the dude that won the game with his run into the endzone... he proposed to his girlfriend on camera. Thats classic. - crimsonl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11That is the way to get a YES, do it on tv.
Of course it is Ian Johnson. Congratulations! - ldmorris426, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11I have lived in Boise my whole life and until now I was never a fan. What a Game! Made me a fan!
- eleqtriq, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9You beat a team that's been talking trash to you all week and then have the cajones to propose to your hot head-cheerleader girlfriend on national TV? Sounds pretty manly to me.
- megabytehl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I'm an OU student and after that game the outcome really didn't matter, it was just plain great.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Bundle this recorded football game on video with a PS3 and you might actually sell one of them on eBay for a profit!
- OswaldKenobi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Anybody notice that non-BCS conference schools are now 2 out of 2 in BCS bowls that they are allowed to play in?
- merdiesel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I wasn't a fan of either team before the game but I am definitely a fan of BSU now... What a way to end the Holiday break!
- Y2JCrisis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I don't care what you say Stabby, they're undefeated and they were good enough to beat the Big 12 champion (who did Ohio State beat? Texas who didn't even get to the Big 12 title game, and Michigan who was decent, but overrated (see last season, same team, 7-5 record) and no Wisconsin...) and that was the closest game they had all year. Aside from a close game with SJSU, they stomped everyone, including a pretty good Hawaii team, and they stomped the would-be USC killers, Oregon State. If Ohio State loses, why SHOULDN'T Boise be the national champions? They haven't been beaten. If Ohio State doesn't lose, why shouldn't they be co-champions, not having had the chance to play each other?
Boise State proved they can run with the big boys. There's not many schools better than Oklahoma to prove that against. - Cabby7588, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7amazing.
Statue of Liberty...The gutsiest play I have ever seen.
AWESOME - joshbradley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I am from idaho and I also know what's fair. Playoffs!
- kajoob, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7wow.
- danielwsmithee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7If you look at what Boise's opponents have done in the Bowls this year they become more and more impressive besides their win. Oregon State 3rd best Pac-10 Team, Hawaii trounced Arizona State, Utah beat Tulsa, Nevada almost beat Miami, San Jose State won, just go down the list their schedule looks better after each bowl win. Just about any team is going to play a number of cup cakes just look at OU's schedule:
3-9 UAB
Oregon (who was better then though they suck now, look what BYU did to them)
M Tenn St.
Iowa State
Colorado (One of the worst teams in D1 this year)
Baylor - boisee, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9No big west coast has the B@lls to play BSU! Would you?
BTW we handily beat bowl winners Hawaii, BYU, oh and a little team from Oregon State. We also smothered Nevada who damn near beat the famous Florida to the bitter end.
Said it before. . . America's Underdog is now America's Champion! - Screwy1138, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Agreed, with 18 seconds left, yes, that's when it's applicable. But not when BSU had the ball back in their end, and not when OU had the ball with 2:50ish to go.
- mrfreeziexp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Great, I feel bad for missing it now.. I was going to, but then decided not to. Now it's being called "the greatest game ever." Just my luck.. Youtube link/ torrent anyone?
- Drewboy64, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6That game was amazing!!!
- mightyb, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8iTunes will definitely get my $2 so I can have a copy of this game forever...
Boise State never stopped playing! - nreynolds, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Oh dang, I totally forgot we decide which team wins the game based on who has the better players. I always thought we did it based on WHO PLAYED THE BEST. Sorry, my mistake.
- boisee, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Do you honestly think that BSU could possibly stay on the field with Ohio State?
No one thought, believed we could stay with Oklahoma either.
GO BLUE! America's Underdog is now America's Champion. - wilf_brim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I admit this to my Digg friends. I switched off the game after the interception at 1:06. After watching the last two Boise State offensive series, and that interception I figured there was no chance that they could ever make score a TD in that amount of time. Well, I'm an idiot. What can I say. It was late, I was tired,I had to work in the morningin, and I was very disappointed in (what I thought) was a heartbreaking loss to OU. Yes, I am an idiot. I just "Heidi Game"ed myself.
Thanks for the YouTube link to the highlights, though. - jessestay, on 01/21/2009, -0/+6Now if they could just get rid of this stupid bowl system so we can see how good they really are. Surely with the advent of the Internet, Web 2.0, (name your jargon here), etc. someone has got to be able to come up with a way to make a playoff system make as much money as the Bowl games are. Even if not, is the NCAA about players about money? I think this game answers that (also research the old BYU Holiday Bowl National Championship for another game that challenged the bowl system).
- TyroPyro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Here is the final 2-pointer
http://youtube.com/watch?v=lmy1jQRaqGw - boisee, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Not an underdog? Check the major media outlets. Typical ESPN/ABC east coast bias-there was no love for the Broncos. Only the Sporting News predicted a BSU victory.
Let the spin begin. - UTChris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I think this game was a prime example of playing with heart and a deep desire to win.
OU may have been better on paper, but BSU wanted it more and that was the difference. - Xinareiaz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Booyeah Idaho pride!
- DarknessGP, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7The best part IMO was the look on the OU fans and players faces when they went from slightly celebrating their victory to utter defeat.
