- ADAMWK, on 11/24/2008, -0/+1I would agree that Texas should stay ahead of OU unless you give me the argument that Florida has been given all year long. "They are a completely different team than the one that lost to Mississippi. They are playing much better and should be ranked higher." OU is in the same situation.
basically the only thing this comes down to is that the BCS is garbage and four or five teams are going to get the shaft because of an unfair system. It doesn't even matter who you lose to any more. It just come down to when you lose. - archer104, on 11/24/2008, -1/+2Texas should stay ahead of OU, here's why:
1. Texas lost on the road, at the last second, after the gauntlet, without Cosby and Orakpo, by a dropped easy interception.
2. OU lost (their traditionally biggest game) on a neutral field, by a touchdown and field goal, TO TEXAS. So basically just looking at the one loss, OU has the worse loss.
3. Texas beat more ranked teams when they were at their highest ranking including destroying Missouri who won the Big 12 north. They have a greater strength of schedule, including 4 ranked teams in a row.
4. OU has done terribly in bowl games recently.
