- brjndr, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9They're not disappointing, I smile every time I see their games.
- dfay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Most disappointing post of '07.
- Falldog, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Inaccurate. No one expected Morelli to be any good.

- Y2JCrisis, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5This is division I football! This is the Big 12! It isn't intramurals!
- Y2JCrisis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Who knows what Jimmy would be able to do if the O-line could protect him. He gets sacked more times than Ann Coulter at an orgy. He is going to be ruined though. He's so gun shy now, he wont be any good.
- BrettTheUser, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4They've got the center in there.
- PSUstoekl, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6I go to school at Penn State, and can honestly say that I haven't seen such resounding sentiment towards one player before. Our entire team puts their best effort forward, and he just sabotages us with a last-minute fumble.
Terrible. - 3rnesto, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Except the people on ESPN.
- strafefire, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Why are you being dugg down? You are making a good point!
- mlvassallo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I know Colt McCoy and he is a great person... so I dugg you down.
- mmortal03, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3"Jarett Dillard, WR | Jr., Rice
Dillard got back on track with two touchdown catches against Southern Miss this week, but his '07 numbers (21 catches for 268 yards and three TDs) are still a long way from his ridiculous '06 campaign (91 catches for 1,247 yards and 21 TDs)."
They seem to have it out for this guy. I mean, what is really that wrong with his numbers? So, he had ridiculous numbers the previous year, but since he isn't living up to those gaudy numbers this year, he is a disappointment? I mean, the guy is still averaging 12.76 yards per catch, and he does have three touchdown catches, more than a lot of guys. You can't expect one guy to be the entire offense, even if you are Rice. - ascalonx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3@DukeMojo - you're kind of a dick.
I must preface this by saying that I currently live in Kansas and am a K-State grad and a K-State fan...But:
I would blame little of Texas' lost against K-State last week against Colt McCoy. Not all the blame can always fall on the QB. In fact, I have quite a bit of respect for him after last week. He was taking some really hard hits the whole way through that game and even came back after probably nearly getting his nose broken before the half. Of course, I wouldn't say that he was on top of his game. But, part of the blame for some of his interceptions and every time he was hurried or tackled in the backfield has to be put on the O line and some credit MUST be given to KSU's defense. Both the D line and the secondary performed exquisitely for K-State. And, let us not forget, K-State's special teams put not 1 but 2 TD's on the board and the offense didn't fare so badly itself. Josh Freeman, Jordy Nelson (Riley County, raise up), and the 2 running backs performed really well against the Texas defense. I'm just saying, it's not all Colt's fault.
Besides, expecting a student athlete to perform perfectly at a sport while simultaneously attending a school of higher education is stupid. You can expect them to be good...but, Christ, wanting them to die because they don't do so hot on one weekend is ridiculous. I'd like to see you do either one of those. Or maybe you should just ride a bus and explode. - javier182gt, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Well said, as a Texas student watching Colt not play like he did last year is pretty disappointing, he is a great player and great person of good character. As grueling as it was to watch K-State beat us again, I would never wish the death of anyone.
- DukeMojo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I totally missed the joke.
- akkibaba, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I've been following this guy's comments in other posts too, he even sucks at trolling. Bury him and move on.
- JFrizzle, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Yes they stumbled early, but certainly not because of Mike Hart.
- purdueAl, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3he's the best i've ever at seen... at throwing the ball away
- nonstop87, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3The season isn't over yet so buried as inaccurate.
- theblooms, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1And they will have to make due with their ***** 'Sports Management' 'Communications' or 'Sociology' degrees. Hell, you can't even get a decent job with a BS in Biology. How the hell are you supposed to make ends meet with a BA in 'Physical Education'?
Football is all these bastards got, and it ain't looking so hot there, either. - ffemt300, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Ha Ha Colt McCoy.....what a douche....
- BrettTheUser, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The reason it's serious is because if these guys don't live up to expectations, they won't be drafted into the NFL, and thus will probably miss out on their best career prospect and most likely their lifelong dream.
You're right though, it's just embarrassing to be shown in this way, and SI is just struggling to find pictures to put up because they can only have one "cheerleader of the week" each week. - DukeMojo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I'm Anglo, dumbass. There's not a touch of black in me.
- Orangutan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1yea well shh
- DeskFlyer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Thanks for the much needed eye candy. :)
- UPSLynx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I never said ND was good. In fact, I acknowledged how bad they are. They are one of the worst, there's no question. But They do have some good players on their team, and most of the good players are on Defense. Denial? Did you even read the comment?
- tehseanzor, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1what about the entire team including the coach?
- mrvociferous, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I'm a man!! I'm 40!!!
- jcaino, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2yea, seriously...go watch some porn already.
- theblooms, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Spoken like a true fan. One that's in total and complete denial. ND is THE worst team in all of D-IA football. Period. La-Lafayette could kick ND's ass. Seriously.
- DeusNova, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Go USF, they're doing really good this year. =)

"they look like poofs with all that protective gear, play rugby." -reubencm
There is a commonly held misconception that American football is somehow less violent or less physical than Rugby as American football players wear protective gear.
What that gear lets you do is hit people tremendously hard with greatly reduced risk of injuring yourself. It lets you hit people HARDER. This very basic principle applies to boxing as well. Gloves protect your hands.
Place a pint beer mug on the road. Consider smashing it with your heel. Now consider smashing it with a work boot on your foot. Limitations removed, more force can be applied. - UPSLynx, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1ND's defensive line isn't that bad. With players like LAWS and BRUTON, they make some great plays. However, with such a piss poor offense, the D is left to dry, and by the 2nd half, they've got nothing left.
ND's special teams have also been alright, their punting could use some work however.
Sullivan was supposed to really pull the team together. He's a 5 year senior, but he's been playing like a fresh or soph player. Quite sloppy at times and prone to big hits. - purdueAl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1haha was thinking the samething
- ryberg31, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0i'm the biggest PSU fan on here, I HATE MORELLI, he should be all 10 places
- tripleplay369, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1JUICE
- greyfedora, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1McCoy is definitely a bit of a disappointment, but I'd rather he just won the lottery and moved to Hawaii. Or joined some sort of monastery. Or discovered an all-consuming passion for scrapbooking. An exploding bus seems a little extreme, even if he can't quite seem to figure out who he's supposed to throw the ball to.
But maybe he could leave the name behind for someone else. "Colt McCoy" is a pretty awesome name for a Texas quarterback. - mrvociferous, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0I guess you don't follow college football. Thanks for posting in a college football thread though.
