- jakash, on 03/27/2009, -1/+28Celery soda is actually pretty good. It also doesn't seem that terrifying when compared to the other things on this list...
- shutaro, on 03/27/2009, -0/+24Pepsi yogurt, on the other hand...
- Fhwqhgads, on 03/27/2009, -1/+25Actually, yogurt pepsi sounds delicious.
- meckenrode, on 03/27/2009, -0/+19liquid cheese? but, what's the point without the nachos?
- ElGubrush, on 03/27/2009, -2/+20I was just laughing at these cooky ideas for a drink

WHAT THE *****!?!
SERIOUSLY - freakish_beast, on 03/27/2009, -1/+17yogi bear, on the other hand...
- Smokeydabear, on 03/27/2009, -1/+16It may have been kinda disgusting, but the Jones Soda Thanksgiving Pack was really fun to pass around during Thanksgiving a few years ago. Everyone tried samples and some of the drinks taste like the real, albeit disgusting, versions of what the real food. The cranberry soda was great, but not as good as Sierra Mist's cranberry seasonal drink.
- 3sicasity, on 03/27/2009, -1/+15that "breast enhancer" drink is a calcium drink for toddlers.
- STBAT25, on 03/27/2009, -1/+15I can't believe the Japanese came up with Liquid Cheese before America did.
- number11, on 03/28/2009, -0/+14Homer: Now what do you have to wash that awful taste out of my mouth?
Vendor: Mountain Dew or crab juice.
Homer: Blecch! Ew! Sheesh! I'll take a crab juice... - v1c1ous, on 03/27/2009, -1/+15Japan, lead exporter of the world's weird ***** since 1973.
- Zcrubby, on 03/27/2009, -1/+13Man I'd love some tentacle rape right now!
- klmno, on 03/27/2009, -0/+12Coolpis, haha.
- bicyclethief, on 03/27/2009, -0/+10Finally, a Pepsi that can cure a yeast infection.
- GutterMoo, on 03/27/2009, -0/+10Tentacle Grape ftw.
- Yambag, on 03/27/2009, -0/+9Celery soda with a pastrami sandwich with mustard on rye (especially from Katz's) and that's heaven.
- jchennav, on 03/28/2009, -0/+9The real horrifying ingredient in soft drinks sold in the U.S. is high fructose corn syrup.
- tamman2000, on 03/28/2009, -0/+9It is delicious.
I had some when I was in Japan a few months ago... They call it Pepsi White, and it taste kinda like a cream soda, but less sweet. - asgardshill, on 03/27/2009, -0/+9During my three years living in Japan, I got used to and actually enjoyed eating everything from raw fish to boiled octopus to fugu (a type of fish that can kill you if its not prepared just right). But the one thing Japanese that I NEVER got used to was an energy drink called "Pocari Sweat". I just couldn't let it pass my lips.
- seansan, on 03/28/2009, -0/+9I thought it tasted like bland Gatorade, not too bad. Better than trying to drink a jelly drink when your really thirsty.
- dlan4327, on 03/28/2009, -2/+10I hate Pepsi. It's just Coca Cola's inferior cousin.
- ElGubrush, on 03/27/2009, -2/+9yogsi Pepgurt, on the other hand...
- KibblesnBitts, on 03/27/2009, -0/+7No thanks, I'll stick to Brawndo
- Angramainiu, on 03/27/2009, -1/+7I had pepsi white when i was in Japan and it was pretty good.
Did the author even try any of these when he made this list? - thekendon, on 03/27/2009, -0/+6Jones Soda FTW!
- Netrilix, on 03/28/2009, -0/+6dlan4327: You're not kidding. I mean, has anyone ever heard of a "Rum and Pepsi" in serious conversation?
- inactive, on 03/28/2009, -0/+6Well it is over 9000 so it must be good.
- Burmanator, on 03/27/2009, -1/+7I could sure go for a nice fresh glass of placenta 400,000
- Hyperion1144, on 03/28/2009, -0/+5I've had the egg soda at a Vietnamese restaurant near where I live. It is actually pretty good. Oh and by the way, egg soda is just a slightly simplified eggnog recipe, with a little less sugar and no nutmeg or cinnamon. It's not called EGGnog for nothing, you know. Why would Cracked put what is essentially a traditional Christmas drink in the USA on their creepy drinks list? Haven't you ever had eggnog with Sprite? Congratulations, you've had egg soda. I think maybe we are just supposed to be freaked out by the name?
eggnog = good
egg soda = bad
eggnog + Sprite = good, as long as you never name it 'egg soda.'
Traditional Eggnog Recipe
12 eggs, separated
6 cups milk
2 cups heavy/ thickened cream
2 cups bourbon
1+ ½ cups sugar
¾ cup brandy
2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
From here: http://www.eggnogrecipe.net/traditional-eggnog-rec ... Replace the bourbon and brandy with Sprite for kids and non-drinkers. - shutaro, on 03/27/2009, -1/+6Mmmm... Ham...
- agentsrecord, on 03/27/2009, -0/+5Eel soda? Pardon me while I go do my imitation of the Boomer. BRLAHABGHIGH!
- jessegrondin, on 03/27/2009, -0/+4No pepsi blue?
- Zcrubby, on 03/27/2009, -0/+4...
- Branchex, on 03/27/2009, -0/+4I dare Kevin to try the fungus tea, I'm sure Hippie Glen can whip some up.
- NJank, on 03/28/2009, -0/+4the Halloween flavors are even better. nothing like Candy Corn and Lemon Drop (tastes just like Lemon Head candy)
- inactive, on 03/27/2009, -0/+4My friend had one of the holiday packs a couple years back and you can not imagine how bad some of them were. The cranberry flavor was okay, but the brussels sprout almost made me throw up and is one of the worst things I have ever tasted in my entire life.
- tyne101101, on 03/27/2009, -0/+4I dare to add on to the article just for ha's ha's, but have anyone drunk "Crystal Pepsi"?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hBPudDANZ4&eur ... - Tarnum, on 03/28/2009, -2/+6You might add the US-made beer to the list.
- milohoss, on 03/27/2009, -0/+4Kombucha is awesome. I actually recommend it.
- interrelate, on 03/27/2009, -0/+4Anyone want some beer-flavored green tea?
http://www.flickr.com/photos/marc_a/2673759529/ - spoon088, on 03/27/2009, -1/+4Holy crap it sounds like cow piss so by logic it must taste like it despite the letter "L" sounding completely different from "W" and "I"s in international phonetics having an "ee" sound.
- inactive, on 03/28/2009, -0/+3Two interesting drinks I've tried were Grass jelly drink and Ayran which is a turkish drink made of water yoghurt and salt.. both aren't half bad I guess.
- cjurdane, on 03/27/2009, -0/+3The egg drink doesnt seem that bad, ive heard its healthy stuff.
- asgardshill, on 03/28/2009, -0/+3True, dat. I just never could get past the name. Besides, I could get Asahi from vending machines on just about any street corner.
- jfujita, on 03/28/2009, -0/+3I hope people don't confuse Japanese kombucha with the chinese fermented kombucha in the article. Japanese kombucha is tea made from dried kelp and is not fermented. In the beginning of the 20th century the russians got the two mixed and now the fermented tea is called kombucha in the West.
- brettg102, on 03/27/2009, -0/+3Anyone who has been to EPCOT or Coke World in Atlanta know that Beverly (Italian apertif made by Coke) is actually the most horrifying drink ever.
- ubuwalker31, on 03/28/2009, -0/+2Cel-Ray Rocks. They discontinued the diet version though :-(
- smacksaw, on 03/28/2009, -0/+2It's very tasty. The Vietnamese even do an avocado drink that isn't all that bad. I'm a fan of Vietnamese sodas, ices and slushes.
- Shawn4168, on 03/28/2009, -0/+2http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9cTXl5ApEk
- Orchid64, on 03/28/2009, -0/+2Meh, Pepsi yogurt is not bad, not great. The fact that it came and went in no time at all is an indication that it wasn't a hit.
It doesn't taste like cream soda at all as the previous poster states (review here: http://japanesesnackreviews.blogspot.com/2008/10/p ... It tastes like lemony, somewhat sour Pepsi -literally like weak yogurt in Pepsi.
Japanese comapnies invent weird food combinations for publicity and to boost brand name recognition and loyalty, not because they think they're so good. The same applies to Pepsi Cucumber. Since Japanese people value novelty so much, a lot of flash-in-the-pan food and beverages tend to show up and vanish. -
