- elijahyossie, on 07/08/2009, -1/+21My mother says it's the hangover from rationing in the Second World War (which lasted until the mide 1950s for some things). She never bins food, she uses it up, feeds it to the dog, or composts it.
- Haoie, on 07/08/2009, -1/+18What a waste. Even if you can't/won't eat it, you can feed it to pets.
- tripwire45, on 07/08/2009, -1/+13Leftovers are the best part of any meal. :)
- JAVandiver, on 07/08/2009, -1/+12Really?! If you leave something of the food/beverage variety it becomes the property of the residence; only a boor asks for something back or, even worse, walks off with a remainder during an event. Now with regards to containers(and life in general): only ever loan anything out to a friend that you do not expect to ever be returned. That is what disposable containers are for! Throw out the container, not the friendship.
- Blinker1315, on 07/08/2009, -2/+12Growing up in a family of seven, with Depression-era parents, and not a lot of money, I had my fill of leftovers by the time I was 15. My mother used to recycle Swanson TV Dinners tins for the next three nights, with her leftover meat loaf, canned vegetables and instant mashed potatoes put into the tin containers. A wonderful woman, but an awful cook. As a result, while I don't waste food, my wife and I are not leftover-freaks by any stretch of the imagination. A pot of chili, sure, that can last a couple of days. Most other things get tossed if they're not eaten.
- LeekMibles, on 07/09/2009, -0/+10that comic was meh.
- nepidae, on 07/09/2009, -0/+10There is a huge difference between leftovers from crappy food and leftovers from good food.
- chrmeh, on 07/09/2009, -0/+9God Dammit..I already told you once..I am too lazy to sign up for the New York Times!
- nepidae, on 07/09/2009, -0/+8Snacking on leftovers are way better than snacking on high sodium snacks or sweets. Soups, chili, steamed veggies and fish are all great leftovers that can be eaten cold or hot.
- skipvt, on 07/09/2009, -0/+6Ain't nobody appreciate leftovers like a dog. It's like your feeding them ambrosia straight from the hand of god.
- pathouston22, on 07/09/2009, -1/+6I fed leftovers and junk food to my last dog for 15 years. Chicken bones, chocolate, table scraps - everything they say you shouldn't feed a dog. Well she lived to be 16.
- zagatbuzz, on 07/08/2009, -2/+6"Turkey Toenails"... . Almost sounds like my grandma!
- zynaps, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4Stick the leftovers in the freezer and eat them in the future at a time when you don't feel like cooking?
- askantik, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3Then perhaps you should look into making less of the things you know you won't eat later. I dunno, sort of seems like a good idea...
- kookykyle, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2culinary re-animations??
- LeekMibles, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2What if the leftovers are high sodium snacks or sweets? As is the case for me often always usually.
- brycehun, on 07/09/2009, -1/+2Not funny.
- lelebelle, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1Leftovers are generally pretty awesome until you're dying to have some Round Table pizza but find yourself eating three day old soup instead. Then they suck a lot.
- lelebelle, on 07/09/2009, -0/+1Leftover Cheetos are bomb.
- sTiKyt, on 07/09/2009, -1/+1Or you could have just eaten smaller meals....
- jammyfred, on 07/09/2009, -2/+2If I have any leftovers they won't ever last any longer than a day. If you have more than a whole meals worth of leftovers than you are making way too much in the first place. You can't beat day old takeaway the morning after the night before.
