- KokomoNYC, on 11/07/2009, -1/+24I recently visited Eastern Europe, and it's absurd: EVERYONE is skinny, and my head was constantly turning because all the girls seem to have nice bodies. It can't be just the ubiquitous smoking.
- ChileanGoD, on 11/07/2009, -1/+22This is Eritrea's first chance ever at being internationally noticed.

- ingrrid, on 11/06/2009, -2/+18Yes. It's not hard to out-walk most Americans.
- irkalla, on 11/06/2009, -1/+13"most people aren't gorging on Big Macs, large fries, and large soda, espcially not every meal."
You don't go to McDonalds often, do you? - angrytortilla, on 11/07/2009, -0/+12As a Canadian I'm surprised we weren't represented on this graph. Our eating habits aren't that much better.
- gankige, on 11/06/2009, -3/+133500 calories are no sweat nowadays with not just one fast food stand on every corner, but 2-3.
Classic Burger King launching an artery-clogging seven-patty, 1000-calorie Whopper in honor of the release of Microsoft Windows 7 in Japan... 960 calories in a Taco Bell salad, McDonald's triple shake coming at 1160 calories... - aussieNickuss, on 11/07/2009, -0/+9Followed closely by aussie aussie aussie.

- moulinneuf, on 11/07/2009, -0/+5Poutine is made with real potatoe , real gravy and real cheese usually
served in a normal bowl or normal plate, it's also an entire meal.

It would be a small appetizer for our Etats-Unians firends ...

The cold winter and snow shoveling also help with our required exercising. - Rawclyce, on 11/06/2009, -1/+6Pretty soon they'll have to up the "based on a 2,000 calorie diet" on the nutrition facts to "based on a 4,000 calorie diet."
Apparently 2,000 calories isn't realistic for the greater part of America. - wtyneb, on 11/07/2009, -1/+6That's awful logic on your behalf
- 2Deluxe, on 11/07/2009, -1/+5Stop trying to convince yourself that going to McDonalds three times a day is a sign of your prosperity.
- rxer, on 11/07/2009, -0/+4Healthcare costs for one.
- Actis, on 11/07/2009, -0/+4He is retarded, judging by his comment history he actually never knows what hes talking about.
- svendm, on 11/07/2009, -0/+4Something's weird.. Sweden has a slightly higher percentage of fat people than France?
Yet they eat less? (and are taller as well).. that doesn't seem to add up. - BookaShade, on 11/07/2009, -5/+9Everybody needs to do a semester on how canadians are pompous arrogant french *****.
- PlasticHotDog, on 11/06/2009, -1/+4It's interesting to see that the French eat almost as much as Americans do, and in similar ratios of the types of food. Do they walk around more or something?
- pimpofpixels, on 11/07/2009, -1/+4Ahh man. Last year, Australia had surpassed the US in fatness for a while.
Back to the status quo I guess. - drmangrum, on 11/06/2009, -0/+3I try not to. Their food gives me the *****.
- anarchyinthekr, on 11/07/2009, -1/+4***** roots and tubers!
- Drakenking, on 11/07/2009, -0/+3England replaces McDonalds with pubs.
Sweet, sweet alcohol. - elijahyossie, on 11/06/2009, -1/+4An average of well over 3,500 calories a day? That is an awful lot. Even people trekking to the north pole through ice and snow only need 6,000 or so, and I doubt many adults in America are doing that kind of exercise!
- CPeanutG, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2Wheres UK? Supposedly half of the British Adults are overweight.
- linagee, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2farms are subsidized. the fat you put on was provided by tax payer money.
- Idonteven, on 11/06/2009, -4/+6Is that your excuse for being a tub of lard?
- Projektorboy, on 11/07/2009, -1/+3It amuses me how Australia is slowly, but surely, becoming a deformed twin brother of the USA.
- linagee, on 11/07/2009, -2/+4They probably saw you as a fat American.
- idavidtang, on 11/07/2009, -1/+3Eritrea must be the most fit county in the whole world.
/s - rxer, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2There is huge variation in obesity region to region in the U.S.. I live in the Midwest unfortunately.
http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2007/fit.nation/obesit ... - Bilbobaggins, on 11/07/2009, -2/+4So basically this infographic informs us that Americans are fat as hell. Whereas Eritreans are skinny. This information is quite remarkable.
- askantik, on 11/07/2009, -1/+3Are you retarded? I'm not sure if you were being sarcastic or not. Anyway, some roots and tubers off the top of my head:
Potatoes, sweet potatoes, radishes, carrots, beets, turnips, parsnips, ginger... - mrmount, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1om nom nom nom nom
- DrVic, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1OM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM
- sonofabe, on 11/07/2009, -1/+2Actually, I know a slightly overweight Eritrean...
My anecdotal evidence clearly trumps this so-called infographic! - Chainheart2, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1On who else's behalf would be it?
- Corr0sive, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1Fixing peoples comments; another way to prove your a dick head.
- kaji823, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1Why why WHY would you group Oils and fats with SUGAR? They are not related AT ALL! Fat != high GI processed carbohydrate. It should be grouped with cereal at least.
Other than that, interesting and informative. - ipodman715, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1la cigarette.
- copypastry, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1***** yeah, poutine :D
- elijahyossie, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1What sort of awfulness?
- KJSatz, on 11/08/2009, -0/+1An average of 3500 calories is very high because people trekking the north pole need 6000 calories.
Do you see why your north pole example has absolutely no relevance? Perhaps if people trekking the north pole needed 3500 calories it would be relevant, but 6000 is close to double 3500. - uppiguppi, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1Sweden has the highest candy consumption-rate in the world. Less food + more candy = higher fat percentage.
Plus it's cold up here. We need the fat to preserve heat! - kaji823, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1That website suggests you should get 55% of your calories from carbs. That's a great way to get fat and have diabetes. *sigh*
- kaji823, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1You should be getting about half your calories from fat, and the rest fairly evenly from carbs/protein. Scale carbs down to lose weight. Unfortunately we associate the fat, as in to gain weight, with the macro nutrient fat, which in a natural state usually is not bad for you.
*missed time to edit - rif42, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1A better word for these would be Info-collage.
